- 1975 Ford F100 long bed to short bed conversion. The entire project took our shop, three, eight hour days. We run a two man crew consisting of myself, Nathan Hawkins, and my wife Sonya Hawkins. This is only the first step of shortening the bed, the video of the frame will be posted soon after it goes through editing.

Good evening, I do like your engineering. Your technique prevents alot of warpage by staying close to the edge. And thanks for the tip about the cutoff wheel being more accurate when it has some prior use. You take care and good luck.
Great video, looking forward to the next one
awesome video. hope your channel takes off
Only one thing you need to do different. Instead of cutting it 16", measure it all out for 16" then cut it at 14" instead. This allows you to cut right on the seam of the front corners. Once you do that you can trace the longer bedside you cut at 14" instead of 16" down the inside and you can cut it to math the corner perfect. It has a little bit of curve in the weld when you put it back together making it less susceptible to warping plus it's right on the corner. Works great
We looked into doing that but the way we do it works well for our shop.
Like your technique in shortening the bed!
Good job. All the info is helpful.
Good to hear! This is why we do this!
Nice job!
Wow bro u R really good GOD blessed
Welding without a helmet?
Is there videos on making a shortbed-stepside into a longbed srepside
Awesome video! What landmarks did you use as a starting point for the inside bedside? Preserving the notched-out portion for the filler neck?
You can’t preserve the notched out portion because you can’t use that tank, there isn’t enough room. I decide to cut wherever it appears it will all line back up with our the bump. If you have to or want to put the bump back in then you will have to cut out for it after you splice the bedside back together.
Hi im getting ready to do a f250 1972 the bed has had linex bed liner sprayed init and im looking for some 1/2 ton spindles and nine inch rearend can you help me

What state are on
I'm sorry, but could you please explain the cutting of the inside of the bed better? From the way I understand it you measured 16" from the front of the bed. Then you lost me on how you measured and cut the rest.
I cover this better on our TikTok page, @tinmancustomsnc
I dont get this at all..... Long beds are the shit..!!
