    Wow thats a nice kit! impressed that the bedside and inner comes together like that, that saves a lot of welding, just curious is all the metal and stamping Chinese? I remember back in the day the Chinese stuff didn’t fit good at all. As a body man myself for 40 years I would paint and undercoat the complete underside of the bed and the backside of bedsides.
    One of my bucket list projects is to completely restore 78/79 ford truck and drop a coyote V8 with a automatic transmission in it with all the modern electronics on a 6 inch lift.

      Seem sealer? Just like factory.

    • @yarkie1

      Seam sealer doesn't stop the rust from forming where the panels were ground ahead of time.

    • @jeremybennett5547
      @jeremybennett5547 Год назад +3

      Many manufactures are beginning to advise against weld through primer in repair procedures now. It does affect the weld quality and in all honesty the area around the weld itself burns the paint off anyway.
      Something like cavity wax is your best bet after welding

    • @aaadamt964
      @aaadamt964 7 месяцев назад

      Heres the best method ive found to use weld through primer. Doesn't matter if its zinc or copper... store the can on its side so nothing settles on the bottom of the can. Start shaking it upside down. As you shake it, slowly rotate the can until its upright. Once its ready to spray, make sure all the surfaces are clean. Now, throw the can in the trash. Weld it up and use seam sealer.

    You should put in the good word for me and many others…
    They need to sell short bed (73-79) bedsides outer panel alone. All they have rn is the bedside assembly.
    I see this as a major problem, I’ve tried reaching out to them but they don’t seem to care, it’s also kinda dumb because they sell the short bed inner alone… but no outer skin alone.
