- The classic Ford F-100 and F-150 platform presents some unique challenges when setting out to build an air suspension system that delivers the ride and handling people have come to expect from Ridetech.
The old Ford was designed and built for a different era-back when the speed limit was 55 and trucks were meant to work hard. While the original twin I-beam front suspension was certainly built “Ford tough” but it wasn’t exactly built to carve corners.
Our complete bolt-in suspension system for the classic Ford trucks removes the entire factory front crossmember in favor of our bolt-on front crossmember, and replaces the old leaf spring rear with a four-link. This package can be ordered with either Shockwaves or coil-overs, both of which will help get your truck sitting-and performing-better than ever.

BOLT-ON! [remove engine and cut frame step one]
Honestly🤣 just a Lil elbow Greece
Lmao don’t u known a guy can bolt he can cut
That’s the elbow grease! Hahaha… WTF I just wanted to see if it felt good ride wise…
Thanks for considering our old classic trucks in your suspension lineup ......
I like the split grill so much better than the 78-79 grill.
Finally a kit I can buy and install and go
I AM SO IMPRESSED!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME ENGINEERING!!!!! I LOVE THE DENT SIDE FORD TRUCK!!!! SO BADASS AND THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME UPGRADE!!!!
Beautiful 76
beautiful truck and impressive
I own a 78 F-100 short bed. I only wish that I could find a bed for it so I won't have to cut and weld in New metal over and around the wheel wells. Nice kit, but seems a bit harder than the description.
Awesome set up
Super clean
And it can be done in a weekend 😳 nice set up the nicest part was seeing the big ugly crossmember being cut and the twin I-beam set up being dragged across the floor .
thank you for painting the frame rails before putting new stuff on. i die a little inside when car shows bolt new stuff on to dirty rusty areas.
I had a 1974F 100 XLT just like this one never knew they had something like that but then
I need one of these for my bullnose
Cool! See-ya I-beams.
My first truck was same year but a long bed. Kinda miss that ole truck sometimes
Had one just like this ! Mine was short bed , black w/ red interior f 100 ranger XLT package ! 390 fe built C6 with shift kit ! Nine inch rear w/373 gear mini spool !
Ridetech, please please please! Make this kit available for the 80’s model F series truck. I have a 85 that I’m working on and would love to have this installed on it!
That all looks tough. Crossmember esp.
I need this for my brown beast
Nice
I have a 1971 F 100 I wish looked like this lol
I like it.
The truck in this video reminds me of my 77 f 100 I bought new wish I could post a picture of it lost it to a engine compartment fire , 302 , c 6 transmission
I'm riding high....76 high boy shorty...maybe in my sixties I can get a low go...78-79 best ford's. 👌
Dudes driving me crazy with how he’s spray painting. GD
How is camber adjusted on the front? Obviously caster is done by sliding the upper arm back and forth.
I must be really old school. Love my trucks to be trucks, not lowered street stuff
Would u happen to know spring rate for a coilover set up for this truck
What size of wheel you put it on ?
Any plans in doing a watts link set up with this or is it not necessary, also would welding the brackets to the frame add any benefits, also 1 last question, the front crossmember engine mount bars, is that a 1 size fits all or will there be different types like if we canted to coyote swap or godzilla swap the truck?
I'm wondering about the Coyote swap too? Heard the mustang 2 cross-member doesn't work out well.
What does a system like this cost with labor. And what kind of time frame are we looking at. This is a cool project. Thanks.
I'ma go ahead and talk about how clean that truck is...me thinks that's never been a northern work truck know what I'm sayin...
Will this kit work on a 75 f250 truck 2 wheel drive ?
Is the break kit 5x5.5 or 5x4.5
Wow amazing, not bolt on lol but amazing can I take you guys my bullnose! I have similar wheels on mine
Is stock ride height possible with this suspension?
wonder if works for f150 frames
Do they make a suspension for a 1981 f150 ranger
I know it's not likely as it isn't a very desired truck, but any chance on a similar setup for a 10th gen f150
I recognize that voice!
What's your location guys?
How can I get that kit?
This is a Frankenstein project.
สวยน่าใช้แต่เสียดายไม่ใช่ไฟฟ้านะ
Is this a long bed or short bed
What is the price of that kit
Need to make a kit affordable for a ford maverick 77 something decent for reasonable price,
At $8,225.00 for the kits, why not just go for a custom chassis...
Because a custom chassis is twice that and a lot more work.
@@deanrickvalsky7586
12K gets you a Spec chassis from Roadster shop...
@@joeschlotthauer840 that’s a basic price you still have to make some selections that will add to that cost. Plus the labor is more. So the savings is why people go with a suspension system. Like I was saying.
@@deanrickvalsky7586 twice the cost. same amount work
they made it about as simple as you can get versus adding a crown Vic suspension in the front although that's a hell of a lot of work if you were just doing it by yourself and your backyard I would consider a kit like this if I was newly retired and I didn't have nothing to do and I didn't want to be bored to death.
although that's a pretty hefty price tag and then you have to take your engine out you see that was the killer for me that was the deal breaker for me with the crown Vic swap as well although there's some people that have a lot of money to deal with and they'll easily buy one of these kits and pay a shop to install it for them it's a pretty trick kit actually the only negative for me with it is I don't have I don't have the money to buy it and I don't want to yank my engine out to cut the crossmember out.
I sold a 75 short bed like this for junk once after I removed the front disc brake suspension for my 69 longbed. Never really cared for short beds. Maybe I should have kept a few of them.
Why?
Nice kit, needs a Coyote, and I would’ve put an electric rack in it.
You guys should invest in a torque wrench.
A couple ugga duggas usually gets it done
"we like our trucks low" Why get a truck only to cripple it?
Really? A set of drop-beam axles would be a whole hell of a lot easier and I’ll bet a fraction of the cost. May not have the performance quality but really….? After all that and they didn’t even put in a 550hp. Coyote or a Shiverlay LS.
You basically dropped it and put fugly wheels and tires on it. May God have mercy on your soul.
Yes, was way cooler original
Right I don’t like those wheels some 15/ 10 on back and 15 8 front !
Not really impressed, still just a lot of body roll. For me the expense and the amount of work not working not worth it
Crown vic easier cheaper
Word salad: "uncompromised suspension geometry" that tubular steel is a deal breaker. Made in China quality. No thanks!
