Love the videos. Just bought my first square body. 1983 k10. In fact just placed an order for a few parts today as well.
Any updates on your square body how did the kit turned out
‘That’s just not right man’, I like that...nice content bro, thanks.
LOL, thanks for watching!
I would love to see a 88-98 kit made
I would love that too I need that right now lol
Yes. I've passed up so many good deals on long beds over the years. I didn't think it was practical to do this. Now I'll be on the lookout for a clean, long bed.
@@coyotelife9732…I have one for ya..
Holly macaroni!!! Really miss my old c10 short bed and with this kit it will be way cheaper to build one. The Elder at my job site told me about this kit and I really need to get a kit. Thank you for this amazing video. Im subscribing to your channel just for this content. Thank you again.
Thanks for watching!
@Brothers it’s about dang time!! Been asking and waiting for years. Very exciting! Thank you!
Wait….all are out of stock 😢
This product was just released, we are taking pre-orders right now and expect to be shipping these kits Mid-November once we have the packaging and instructions finished..
I really would like to see a longer video on this whole project.
That video will be available soon. Like Dave mentioned, we are working on a complete instructional video right now that will be released before year end.

Finally. Thanks y'all.
Wish I had known about this all along. Ive seen so many nice long beds for sale but always avoided them.
These videos are absolutely amazing
How about a video on front frame crack repair were steering wheel pump is located! My truck has a crack and I hear is common on square body chevys! Thank you awesome videos keep them coming 👍👍
We'll check it out, thanks for the suggestion!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
I think that it’s more like… “How bout a video on the frame crack repair right below the cab on the passenger side where my fat ass girlfriend always sits when we go out!?!?!? I have always heard that this is common on square body Chevys. Especially when her lard-ass won’t listen and get in the back of the bed like she is instructed to do in the first place!!! Btw, once I get this large crack fixed, I am honestly contemplating breaking up with her because she just won’t fucking listen to anything I say to her!!! It’s not like I tell her to get in the back for no reason!!! I mean, I really and truly just do NOT want to be seen, by my friends and family, with her up front with me anyways, but that is besides the point!!! My main issue with her is that she just won’t listen!!! And that is not to mention that her humongous ass won’t quit eating either. All she wants to do is eat, other than crack the frame of my beloved truck!!! Thank you, awesome videos, keep them coming!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice cut then weld it with extra metal for extra strength 👍
Can the bolts be removed and welded shut? I'm just not a fan of all the Frankenstein bolts
Yes absolutely! Once you have it welded in you can take the bolts out and weld the holes.
I love watching this video on this type of information and I was hoping that you would have the same information about lengthening a short bed to a long bed on a Chevrolet S-10? I can’t exactly find what I am looking for actually! Thanks 🙏
We don't have any information related to the S-10 pickups. Sorry
find a donor short bed truck, get all the measurements and find exactly what you need to cut. they usually makes these frames pretty similar and sometimes with matching holes for different configurations
@@headlesnorseman701 Thanks 🙏 I have been doing some research on these frames and trying to figure out how much and what to do for me to succeeding my dream truck!
@@kevinholbrook7174
If you don’t mind me asking, why are you wanting to “stretch” the short bed into a long bed? Which I will say that when lowered the long bed looks pretty good. But I’m not entirely sure that the long bed would look better. Either way, good luck with your adventure.
Would like to see a square body roof skin replacement very interested in how to tackle the rear without panel bond
We would probably recommend a bond unless you are OK with eliminating the factory seam.
This is nice!!!
Where do I find the conversion kit in this video?
Wow do have that for the 88/99 chevy c1500 cool vid .
Not yet available for the 88-99 trucks, maybe someday!
Does this kit work for 4x4 chassis's too??
I was on your website. Read the instructions and saw the kit is not applicable to 3/4 ton trucks with GVW greater than 8200 lbs. Is there something in particular about the geometry that is different or is it a structural concern? Please explain why the kit will not work.
Does the exhaust, brake lines and fuel lines all still fit after you shorten the bed?
Video was very helpful ..I have a question what’s a good website to purchase new bolts and washers (hardware) for my 72 c10 bed ? Thanks I’m advance
Always www.brotherstrucks.com
I just have one question how safe is this I mean we're taking the frame and cutting a piece off of it will that affect any of the structural support . Not that I'm going to use mine for off-roading but I am curious how safe is it
No more unsafe than that model having the gas tank outside the frame rail!! Anyway they extra layer in there will keep it at least as rigid as factory. Remember it used to be legal to repair vehicles this way when vehicles had two frame rails.
I never did really understand the short bed craze but then again I tend to do things with trucks (yes that includes classic trucks) that you shouldn't do and probably can't with a short bed
I've only owned one truck in my entire life and that was a 1978 Dodge custom single cab short bed that I inherited from my uncle. This wasn't all that long ago back in 2002 when I was 17, boy did I love that truck it was awesome but when it came to using it for work it didn't always work out if we were hauling stuff with it. The neighbor down the street owned a very similar truck to mine except his was a 79 cab and a half long bed. It was a much more comfortable ride than mine just for the reason that there was more room. Recently I got it in my head that I want to take a 2004 F150 and converted to a 2009 . I've seen it done and some of them you really can't tell unless you look inside and you see the older style interior. I've been seeing those older F-150 pop up for a couple thousand dollars I think it'd be fun taking up a little project like that
Why won’t it work with a GVWR of 8200 or greater ?? Thanks
Will this application work for the 88-98 long bed to short bed conversion
No sir. Sorry
Are you guys going to do any videos on the 88 to 98 gm trucks
Eventually we will, but only once we start carrying product for those trucks which should be mid-2022
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV ok cool sounds great keep up the good work
Is there a conversion for the 55-59 Chevy? I have a long bed 59 and want to make it a short bed.
No sir, right now only for 1963-1987.
Question ? Are the frames different for this year because I try to order a kit and they told me it won’t work because my GVWR is 8200 ???? Anybody why
My 82 c10 dont have the door tag only have one on the glove box that says cargo capacity 798 lb is the kit u guys have for sale will work on my truck?????
Call the shop and we'll walk you through how to measure the frame to see if it will work.
Wow😍😍😍💯👏👏
Will this work on a 1987 chevy dually 8ft bed?
Is there a frame shorting kit for a 1956 Chevrolet truck by Brothers. Thanks
No sir, sorry
I have a 1973 GMC 4 x 4 3/4 ton 8 lug and I need a driver side front hub any help is appreciated
I need this but for my dodge d150
Okay? Now what about shortening fuel lines, fuel tank, brake lines, box and driveshaft?
Fuel lines come with our kit along with the proper parking brake cables. The driveshaft will need to be shortened by a professional. There are options for replacing the fuel tank, so we leave that open to you when you shorten the truck. The bed, we sell bedsides and floors or you could find a used bed. Additionally, we are working on a video to show you how to shorten your own bedsides.
What if mine is a dually? @@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
You're cooked @@SS_hubcity
Will this kit work with crew cab frames?
No, unfortunately it won't.
What’s the difference in doing that verse cutting the frame in a z pattern
You would want to cut a Z if you weren't using a C-Channel to reinforce the frame after the cut. Both options spread the stress over a wider area so the cut doesn't fail after its joined together.
Both ootions are legal in most places, hot roxs usually use the z because they didnt have a kit
When will there be a kit for the long bed crew cab 4x4 and why wouldn’t this work for the crew cab?
Different holes, different dimensions, different frame thickness, etc, etc... We don't foresee any kit ever being produced for the crew cab truck frames. Just not enough demand.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV would it work for a 1984 single cab c20? Or is the frame thicker also?
@@Certifiedtray310 It works for MOST C20's except for the ones that have an 820 GVWR on the tag in the door jamb. Click the product link in the video description and you'll be able to see an image of what you're looking for.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV thanks, do you guys carry a 8 lug to 5 lug conversion kit? there use to be a c20- c10 conversion spindle but I think the company went out of business
@@Certifiedtray310 we dont specifically carry an 8 lug to 5 lug kit, but it's 100% doable with available parts. Front end needs to be "downgraded" to 1/2 ton parts and the rear axles need to be swapped.

How long is a original short bed from the front to the back?
When will it be in stock?
Mid to late October 2021.
How can I order this kit from you or anyone else for this project?
Do you have anything on a 1999 Chevy long bed
Tried to order your frame kit didn’t now if went threw and tried call closed I got no where
You got something for a 91 Chevy s10?
Will this work on a 1974 C20?
It depends... there are two versions of the C20. If yours is under 8000 GVWR then it will work.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Mines is 7500... I bought it. I guess I'll see if it works.
Will you have a K30 model available?
We have no intention of creating a kit for the C30/K30 at this time. The C30 and K30 use a completely different frame than the C10-C20-K10-K20 models. Because of the difference and the extremely low number of people wanting to shorten those models, we have no current plans to create a kit for the C30/K30.
I'm interested
@@emanuelfelixreza9195 Thank you, we'll make note of it and if we get enough interest we'll look into engineering a kit.

We were shooting for mid to late October 2021 initially, adjusted timeline looks like we will probably start shipping kits in mid November.
Will it work on a 74 c20?
Most of them yes, however, there is one model that it will not work on. Please click the link in the video description and read the notes on our product page to see if your truck would be excluded.

same reason old schools are even a thing 😂
Parking. Easier backing in. No space for the fat mother in law. 😂
Why?
Why on earth would anyone want to shorten their bed?
Looks better
Short beds are just better looking if your doing a restore and want a sporty truck
