I showed my grandma this and she just laughed. She went to Highschool during the 50s and she said that the modern look was more of the look she would do. She called the traditional look the "nerd look"
The 1950s side looks like an everyday pinup look but I feel like if you wanna glamorize it abit more for a photoshoot wear abit of highlight not to much and a natural set of false lashes to make your lashes fuller !! ✨
I'm glad finally someone is doing a video with no eyebrows lol. I lost mine years ago after treatment and I still can't figure out how to make them both look the same haha some days I just gotta act like I'm mad because one is higher than the others and more arched. Hehehe. Love you video.
I'm so sorry to hear that, but I love the brow-less life, much more fun! Definitely takes time getting used to trying to make them even! Mine still never are, I just hope no one looks too closely!
I never thought to consider a more historical interpretation of pinup makeup. Still glam and dramatic, but for its time. Were you able to reference color photos for it? So lovely 😍
I used mainly descriptions written in books and then put that alongside the black and white photos. 'Retro Makeup' by Lauren Rennells is a great reference too! Thank you!
Around 19:20 the side view of the 1950's style reminds me of a geisha girl.❤ It's probably the combination of blue shadow, pale complexion and bright red lipstick. Beautiful! Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing it with us! You're just lovely 😊
❤ thank you for showing the difference I like the vintage old way it’s simple and it looks more beautiful to me it suits you well by the way with your pretty face 🤍
I love the vintage eyeshadow but the modern eye brow. The vintage eye brow is unsettling, like a horror movie, and the modern eye is kinda drag queen. So I'm gonna mix n match and see how it goes 😆👁👁✍💅
I’m SO sad that you cover your beautiful freckles. I understand you are showing how make up was and is, but let your skin breathe and show off those lovely freckles! ❤️
You are wrong tho. The Pan Stick Foundation was created by Max Factor in the 50s and before that actresses often used thick greasy stick foundation before they went on film.
I love the traditional side too, I'd love to see you do the 1930s in future, it's such an influential decade in makeup history!
Thank you! That's definitely the next one I'm most interested in doing!
I really love the traditional side of this 50's makeup!
This is such a fun video. I have vintage 1950s magazines and many of the models are wearing blue eyeshadow and pastels.
Both are really lovely, I am very versatile with my own make up applications and my look varies a lot😊💄💋😍
Thanks for actually explaining the reasoning behind the looks. Most tutorials just call and don’t explain what the goal of the look was. ❤
I showed my grandma this and she just laughed. She went to Highschool during the 50s and she said that the modern look was more of the look she would do. She called the traditional look the "nerd look"
Oh that's very interesting to hear! She sounds like a very stylish woman then!
There are many styles of cosmetic application nothing is nerdy, just different😠
Wow, I see a stark difference n LOVE the traditional side best.....naturally 🌸 great video. -XA
You did a great job, I love both sides. I almost cried when you covered your beautiful freckles.
The traditional is my favourite!
I always try to do my makeup based off old photographs! This video is such a game changer for me! Thank you!
I love replicating old photos! It's so fun! Thank you!
This is really great. Please do a version for the 1930s and the 40s too!
The traditional makeup and hair remind me of old photos of my grandmother and great-aunt. :-)
Love that! Thank you!
Winged Liner Master! I don't think Ive ever seen it applied so quickly and well!
You’re so pretty you look like Snow White ❤️

Definitely!
I think it's pretty funny that you had to have that beaming stripe of highlight. I was a pre-hightlighter teen and 20s though.

Have u tried doing both at the same time? ...that's what I do when I'm drawing eyes.....picture I draw picture lmao
@@Dolly.956. lol no I'm not that talented 🤣🤣❣️
@@annaluna75 lol you can I believe in you. It's not as hard as I make it sound 😂🤣
Love the 1950’s look! Great job!
I love the traditional look. I've never been comfortable with alot of makeup on.
I never thought to consider a more historical interpretation of pinup makeup. Still glam and dramatic, but for its time. Were you able to reference color photos for it? So lovely 😍

Geisha don't wear blue eye shadow.
Love the traditional makeup. Excellent tutorial. 🥰
Thank you so much 🤗
When I saw you without makeup, the first think that I thought was that your skin is so beauty
I really love the 1950’s side!!
Love your freckles. Super cute.
❤ thank you for showing the difference
I like the vintage old way it’s simple and it looks more beautiful to me
it suits you well by the way with your pretty face 🤍
They are both beautiful
I didn’t think it was gonna be so different it was pretty great very cool of you to do one side of the face versus the other
Thank you!
Nor did they use nearly as much makeup. It wasn't practical to do so, and it costed to much money, they used one product for more than one thing.
Very nice look
Love the traditional 50s look…who else will be shopping for the perfect blue eye shadow after this? 🤗
Genial video.I don't like matte lipstick in the 1950s make-up, I prefer gloss in the lips, look more attractive.
Superb u deserve more loveee...
That's amazing!
All right I’ve got the blue eyeshadow see what kind of looks I get today at the car show??
I hope they all stare in admiration!!
love the video!! you kind of look like the Mona Lisa, beautifull xx
They are both very stunning!
Absolutely adore this video!!
But all in all, I like the modern eye but the 50's brow.
your skins is beautiful
Love this video
Love it
I like modern style amazing 🎉🎉🎉.
Great video
I’m loving the video:)
i love this concept! would you be alright if i did something similar - modern pinup vs period - with hair? obv I’d credit you for the original idea :)
Oh my gosh of course!! I absolutely love that idea and I am so keen to watch it!
Nice! 🔥🔥🔥
I have loved your vid and suscribe to your channel 😍😍 you're a make-up genius
How do you draw your brows on from scratch and make them look so good? haha. Loved this video. x
Thank you! Haha I've had a few years experience but I've also just posted a new video about how I do my green ones!
@@XamiaArc I'll check it out! Xx
Personally I like both sides. I'd wear the traditional during the day and the modern at night.
I love the vintage eyeshadow but the modern eye brow. The vintage eye brow is unsettling, like a horror movie, and the modern eye is kinda drag queen. So I'm gonna mix n match and see how it goes 😆👁👁✍💅
i love how simpel make up used to be :)
Love it ❤️
I think I like the traditional side more
lindoooo
😍😍😍
Well done.
You went from being stunningly beautiful at the start to breathtaking at the end.

I love how pale your face looks.
Traditional 50s makeup > modern 50s-inspired makeup
I like the one on the left….
I don't understand the blue eye shadow when you don't have blue eyes.....because blue was for blue eyes back than
The traditional side looks more natural and prettier.
The 50's makeup looks better on you imo. You resemble snow white there lol.
Thank you!
The 50s looks so much better
Quel dommage de cacher vos jolies tâches de rousseurs, c’est tellement adorable 🥰. Votre base est pour une geisha pas une pin up 🫣😉
I’m SO sad that you cover your beautiful freckles. I understand you are showing how make up was and is, but let your skin breathe and show off those lovely freckles! ❤️
She looks like snow white
Where’s your eyebrows?
Lost them
Modern side looks gesha.
Watched this for only 5 minutes and already you're wrong. They didn't have stick foundation in the 50's. They used a powder
You are wrong tho. The Pan Stick Foundation was created by Max Factor in the 50s and before that actresses often used thick greasy stick foundation before they went on film.
I said I was using the stick foundation in place of a pan cream foundation, not that it's what they used.
Lynn is right and the artist mentioned why she was using what she did.
geisha. vs. drag?? We did not do this. Not in Miami, or Havana. Where was all this?
Love the traditional 50s look…who else will be shopping for the perfect blue eye shadow after this? 🤗
