I love her that she is being herself and not afraid of society and how people view her. She is epitome of how someone should live their life without fear. ❤
But controlling your partners life isn’t cool
@@kenzierobbins386she’s toxic
Her having control over her bfs modern technology is insane
He can actually just leave if he isn’t on board with that
She seems controlling and insane
He’s a grown man, if he really wanted it, he could easily leave.
Her having a man while y’all still single…….😮 qeue the picachu meme.
@@eml3077well he’s with her. You can still continue to struggle on line. Don’t worry about their relationship.
The 1950 had legal segregation and black people didn’t have voting rights. Voting rights were not passed till the mid 1960s
Not in NYC where I'm from
not the point goofy
Yeah not everything about the 50s was good
There’s still so much nonsense today. There has never and will never be a perfect time.
Congrats for making this about race!!
0:46 oh-😃😟
Is there an updated version in 2024
She has an Instagram. Doesn't look like she's with that guy anymore.
You should do a story on Laci Fay.
She is truly from the 1950s
“i WaS bOrN iN tHe WrOnG gEnErAtTiOn”
We are in the wrong world 🌍
💯 true
😮😮@@fatonyalmitchell3281
girl. youre corny
she’d be getting her ass beat if it was the 1950’s
0:45 Yikes 😬 that says alot
U seen that lol
thinking the same thing lmao
OMG! I saw that too!
@@SuzetteRiddickwhat did I miss lol
A piece of art that is beautiful
I honestly love this! I can tell you that this without a doubt is past life related, her soul wants to go home to its time but can't. So she makes the most of it in this current life. 🙂
Love this, im obsessed with the 50s 60s and 70s my family brought me up ti have a love for American nostalgia, they immigrated from Europe in the 40s and were smitten with the music, the culture, we always watched the shows the movies, i dress a bit 60s too😄
0:46 oh no
No plastic hangers until 1967.
Oh geez. You just reminded me of "NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!"
0:45 eesh that sign 💀
I was born in the early 50’s. If she is happy let her be !
Are we not going talk abt 0:46 ??
no.
I noticed the same thing
@@Salsa_Mami im confused
@@user-pt6hs6tw4e It's a racist caricature of a black person
Whatt I don't get itt
But did they use glue on false eyelashes in the 50’s? 😂
They did! Marilyn Monroe actually cut her falsies to only the ends to give her signature droopy eye effect!
Yes Lucille Ball wore fake eyelashes and she would cut them on the middle and only have on the ends of them
yes, google is free
She kept the racism too lmao
But it's OK when black people do it?
naw
Cry
😂😂😂😂
it could be a lot worse... I actually really like her style even though it seems crazy those times definitely were more centered around family unity and connection. Bravo to her.
Yes. I gess. But the domestic violence was a lot worse. Women/Man (Betrayl/Inseure)/Kids died because of that. This was the normal. And nobody talk about it. Just acept.
@@dianasilva3324domestic violence is much more prevalent now and feminism made sure men don't respect women anymore 💯facts
@@EsmeraldaWolfsbane7777 wait im confused, why does femenism make men not respect women? Femenism is about equality so i dont get that
@@abbirezac1982to be fair the radical online feminists make themselves seem like jokes lol
Ummm, my parents gave me a completely different rendition of the 1950s🧐
no shit
And?
Saw her ig I’m loving it for her you can tell she definitely changed but still doing what she loves and has a family good for her ✊🏽
“Women weren’t my size in the 50’s” ma’am, my grandmother is taller than you…
I feel the same way about the 1940s. You go, Doris !❤
The car is lovely
0:46 WOW.
I miss the 1800’s bro 😭
She looks 43 not 23
Her style may be authentic but much of her view of how the 1950s was is a romanticized version. One I love but it's a stretch to say it's authentic and accurate.
That said, if it makes her happy I think it's great. I live my life in a similar way but I'm more loosely vintage inspired. I just take what I like and mix it with other styles I enjoy.
Even if you throw away the over romanticized version of it, the 1950’s was still operating much better for more people than the 2020’s has been doing
This is beautiful and she is gorgeous the 50’s looks good on her
They should have put much appropriate music in the background. shes beautiful 🎉
naw
I can’t really blame her. I’m starting to transition my home and even my personal style to be more reminiscent of the 70’s and 80’s. When you have seen what society used to look like vs what it has devolved into now, and the continued decline and decay it’s going down into, it’s easy to want to reject that. Add to it the nostalgia and it’s a win. This is one of those things that really is just someone doing what makes them happiest and truly not hurting anyone with it.
I loveee this...
Yall, the tv is a modern TV put inside the shell of an old TV 😂😂
This is actually pretty kool Go her.
I love Doris Mayday
That tv had a dvd player AND she put it in an old television frame! Lol
Love the car
She would be married and not living with a “boyfriend” if that is the case.
And no children??
@@thecrippledpancake9455 That too, but I don’t know her situation regarding that.
Hahahaha true... 1950 women were not living with bfs 😅
Beautiful
0:40 thats a newer tv disguised as a older tv. VHS/dvd combo probably from the 90s. Has a older tv shell though, A for effort i guess
She left him, and she has instagram
Oh wow 😮
I don't blame him. He couldn't even have a cellphone or internet...
You mean he left her ?
When in the 1940s or 1950s was anyone treated right 😂😂
The Thumbnail: *Audrey Horne* ?
I always like classic people who dress nice
Oh now i understand.....
🏀 in the 1950s they didn't have a three point line and slam dunks were rare
Why is everyone so upset with 0:45
Last name checks out 😮
She's beautiful especially when she was sitting in the mall she should do some modeling
She might come off a little as controlling and demeaning, i mean if she likes that lifestyle good on her but if your partner isnt all that into it dont force him . Is like a vegan forcing their syeak loving partner to eat only olants that is not good soon he will get tired of it and leave
frl that is what im saying
Maybe that was a conversation they had before making things official? Different strokes for different folks but I see what you mean.
They're not together anymore
I agree with her.
I love being obsessed with something, lol.
This originally came out more than 8 years ago.
So how did she find out about this show.?
So we’re all going to ignore that 👌🏾🧐
there’s nothing wrong with living in the 1950’s everything was simpler then and the appliances were made better than they why they still work today and the clothes were made with better quality and fabric and I would love to go back in time to the 1950🙃🙂😋👗
Yea especially if your a white straight man your life was so simple
😮😮😮❤ AWESOME
If I was living every day like it was the 1950s, it would be the year 1959!
i just know her cooking is BLAND
naw
What 23 YO can afford a house and all these vintage things? I collect vintage clothes and decor, and its very expensive, and has taken me many years to collects pieces. That skirt shes wearing is easily $200.
This was filmed 2012, a time where things were much cheaper
I’m jealous. I’m like this but with the 80’s though I make exceptions (aka some technology to make films - my hobby).
This is from 2012 and I wonder if Doris is still living this way or did she morph into the 60's. Is she still with the boyfriend? and do they have cell phones?!?!
It's 10times better to watch than who's being cheapskate😅
:45 😳 well then...
Hier stellt sich die Frage, ob ihr zB diese Winterschuhe wirklich gefallen oder nur gefallen, weil sie aus der Ära sind. Es ist unmöglich, dass ihr nichts anderes gefällt
Nothing wrong with it
Y'all, TLC over exaggerated this show. This woman uses modern technology and is up with the times, but her aesthetic is just stuck in the past. They made her say some of this stuff for shock value and to get views. Also, just because one enjoys the look of a certain era doesn't mean they agree with the attitudes and views of people of that time.
Monica Lewinsky
She looks like that actress that in boxing Helena..i forgot her name🤦
Sherilyn Fenn??
I love the 1920's-1950s but i never want to romance it
But she’s buying 21st century makeup 🤭
I love it❤
She's very beautiful, she's hair, the way she think old school.
i love the gregorian era and the regency era i also love how my generation dress but i wouldnt live like i was in the regency or gregorian era but its her choice
I agree with here , the past is better than today 😊
Crashings like it is the 1950s
Jellied salads, seriously?
Women didnt actually wear heels maybe the dress...all day in the house. Only in commercials and movies
the mammy artifact?????
love the 1950s
I love the style it makes her look very classy
😮 if she's to have kids how is she going to raise them....... curious

Okay this isnt that bad as the other obsessions i saw but you cant tell your partner what you can or cannot have in the house
I would love to live the 80 and the 90 again the best to decades anything from 2000 until now I’ll never miss
Those eyelashes aren't 1950s lol 🤣
Fake eyelashes were very popular in the 1950’s. Marilyn Monroe and Lucile Ball used them on a regular basis.
Her soul is reincarnated from the 1950s
Oh my. This seems like a fulltime job that doesn't pay. Also, she most def is partaking in is present day technology soooo 🤷♀️
They didn’t even have fake lashes back they 😂
yes they did. Google is free
"Yes, false eyelashes became more popular in the 1950s, and companies began selling the first all-synthetic fake eyelashes made of plastic. By the 1950s, there were many styles and materials available, and Marilyn Monroe was a popular icon for her long, voluminous lashes"
Wonder how she met her Boyfriend... 🤔
RIP Doris Mayday. You would have loved Lana Del Rey
This is not how my grandmas looked unless they were going out somewhere nice. Definitely no heels or dressy shoes or clothes or jewelry inside the house around family. A house dress (kinda like a muumuu) Pants simple tops canvas sneakers and a headscarf. They would never dream to wear a fancy dress outfit to do chores in. Laundry and ironing were too big of a pain in the ass to get fancy clothes messy
She’s beautiful! Wow, I love the 1950’s too. So I’m not crazy after all!
I think this is so cute! Leave this lady alone 😍 but do seek a therapist bc it’s bc of trauma she’s doing this
People wasn’t nice at all. Segregation still existed back then. I love her look though
1950 had great personalities.
What was normal back then is now an obsession??
Cute & all but those bags have to go lol
Grocery shopping? You’re not going to find 1950 prices. How about a doctor visit no x ray or medication? How about an inhaler?
