In this video, I (a contemporary voice specialist aka @thefairyvoicemother) analyse Sleep Token's "Rain" on the fly whilst watching and hearing it for the first time.
Watch me lose my mind over extreme vocal techniques but also lose myself in the raw emotion presented. I analyse Vessel's expert vocal performances, explain and demonstrate his vocal techniques (from an anatomical perspective) and ultimately tell you what I think makes them so unbelievably great.

If we are meeting for the first time, HELLO GORGEOUS! I'm Lolli, a voice teacher and vocal anatomy nerd specialising in contemporary techniques. I have a degree in vocal performance, and I am studying for a masters degree in voice pedagogy. I sing aaaall the time! I am CRAVING the reaction to Bloodsport. SPECIFICALLY the "from the Room Below" version. Being able to see him actually singing, up close, really shines light on some of his technique and its also just an incredible song and my preferred version.

That "Rain down on me" scream is done by the guitarist live and it's loud and in your face AMAZING. Now when I listen to the studio version, I still hear the guitarist in my head screaming that part. Lol

"Rain" and "Take Me Back to Eden" are easily my fave songs from this album, and TMBtE is, by far, my fave song to come out in YEARS. Can't wait to see your analysis of it!

It was so far back, i never heard it too, until now. Lol. Even the harsher scream is difficult to catch without earphones. 😂

Nice catch on the Summoning callback. Keep the mindset of looking for those. It's a theme throughout the album and more than just Easter Eggs, which continue to be more prominent.
Their sonic contrast and production are always soo good.

I am a lifelong metal head (mostly), and while I love ST’s heavy gears…. This song DESTROYS me every time!! Emotional, Dynamic, and the Poetic ease, that checks every box for me, of what I want/need to hear! Brilliant analysis/reaction as always!!!

It would be amazing if you would analyse Sundowning and TPWBYT too, initially as individual songs, and then the trilogy in its entirety, your take on the trilogy would be second to none
I spent 4 years listening to the entire album trilogy a song at a time, along with some other rarities they released. When Euclid ended I was not exactly dry-eyed :) What a ride. Enjoy it as long as you can!
Did not expect a Nyango Star cameo!
Euclid has a great callback to The Night Does Not Belong To God on Sundowning. It really feels like the end of a story.
Not too many people notice the scream, my favorite part.
I don't know how, but I have never heard the scream (as well as some of the other background sounds) before watching this video. And I've listened to this song many, many times. Maybe it's how the song is mixed in your video? I'm going to have to go back and listen to the original again with new ears!
Vessel II (the drummer) said gospel hymns and songs were some of his influences for drumming patterns
