Take Me Back to Eden is less of a song, and more of a piece of art. It was so carefully crafted, so perfectly tuned. This is the mountaintop of music. This song is Eden.
I agree so much. I sobbed like a baby during the bridge because it just fucking sucker punched me. I think im going to get "no amount of self-sought fury can bring back the glory of innocence" because god DAMN. That line reached deep within my soul and unlocked a decade of pain and self hatred i locked down deep. A true fucking masterpiece
"No amount of self-sought fury will bring back the glory of innocence" is probably my favor song lyrics, ever. It's fucking perfect. And this song is my favorite to come out is years and years.
Same. I've always loved that line but I wasnt expecting the EMOTION I felt when i heard it live. I sobbed and sobbed and couldn't stop. He reached deep into my soul and unlocked the box of pain and self hatred I locked and buried down there. I think I'm going to get it tattooed it hit me that hard
Seeing this band live is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever witnessed. People cried, cheered and just sat there jaw dropped in amazement. This band is truly one of a kind. And on a personal note, has helped me get through some of the darkest times of my life.
100% agreed. I was lucky enough to see them at Red Rocks and it was one of the most transcendental experiences of my life. It was fucking incredible and I cried so hard during this song. My friend was just holding me and swaying with me as I sobbed
Ahhhhh up next is my favorite song ever! Can't wait for Euclid. Also obligatory comment to please please react to their other two albums as well. It's all spectacular and you're the most interesting and knowledgeable reactor I've seen.
A few things you mentioned. 1) The lion noise is actually a whale underwater. This is a reference to previous album this place will become your tomb's water theme and the birds referencing air (major theme in the first album). Essentially First bit with birds represents the meeting of Sleep (Sundowning Album) the second bit after the whale noise represents TPWBYT album and his falling into obsession/depression (no one told me not to breathe) and the rest of the song is him digging out of it 2)You mentioned what does the mainframe represent, I believe we are meant to think it is his mind and he is trying to get away from Sleep but is almost having withdraw symptoms. Also calls back to Aqua Regia "these days I'm a circuit board, integrated hardware you cannot afford"
Sank back to reality and away from Eden. Then it's him living in this reality, "I spit blood when I wake up." The whole song is him aching to get back to whatever/whoever Eden is for him.
I also see this part as a description of evolution. The song has a few references to returning to a primitive state. Here, it's about animal life leaving the oceans, beginning to breath the atmosphere and having to support our own weight on land. Suggesting that we should have stayed in the water.
Discovering this band was like learning a language and being emersed in a new culture. This song blends so many aspects and genres of music and expresses them in new ways with intricate lyrics. I enjoyed your reaction and admiration of the complexity. God tier indeed.
what A DAY TO WORSHIP. My favorite of all time thing about this song in particular, is the pure build up throughout the whole song just getting progressively louder and harder, starting a somber “I will travel far beyond the path of reason, take me back to Eden”, but ending in this climactic fit of rage because he isn’t being given the option to go back and switching it to “I HAVE traveled far beyond the path of reason, take me back to Eden.” It’s just so beautiful.
At this point, they're not even doing music, it's so much more than that. There's something so spiritual about what they're creating, it speaks directly to my soul. Your reaction was so cute honestly, it felt like you were being overwhelmed but in the best way possible haha, and I can definitely relate !
Your face during the bridge was perfect. That bridge fucks me up EVERY. TIME. I started sobbing during the bridge when I saw it live. It is fucking incredible.
There's a callback to Chokehold just before it gets Djenty - the background vocals are singing the first two lines: _When we were made, It was no accident, we were tangled up like branches in a flood_
This song - this band - saved my life. To me, it’s about losing illusions, being hit hard by reality (in his case, not having connection to someone) and reaching a point where you break. The ‘dream in phosphorescence’ verse, I take to mean that he’s in a blissful, floaty, glowing dream state, in paradise, but he was unaware of the risk, and now he’s waking up with a shock. He’s deeply emotionally locked in with someone he knows is bad for him, and will ruin/has ruined him, but he just wants to go back to when it was blissful. He then looks back with sorrow at what could have been, and becomes angry that it can’t be that again. The metaphors are just … *chef’s kiss* The style (?) changes keep you moving through the emotions of grief. And that final hit. That is catharsis personified in music. One thing I didn’t hear you mention is the muffled ‘splash’ sound when he sings ‘we *dive* through crystal waters’. It’s like he’s underwater and hearing someone dive in. I heard that and suddenly the imagery of the song got so much stronger. Almost two years since I discovered this band, and I can’t hear this song without crying. In happiness or grief? I actually don’t know.
I interpret the opening lyrics as talking about the fall from Eden as allegory for a loss. When the weightlessness recedes, that is a reference to drowning, feeling helpless and overwhelmed. The whole song is about wanting to get back something that is gone, to move back to a perfect time. Life after Eden is compared to that perfection and found to be wrong, debased and shallow. The song ends with rage at the loss before Euclid moves into acceptance and healing.
That was an epic reaction. Your facial expressions relate to us all. I think take me back to Eden means take me back to when things were simpler. He’s battling mental illness.
This entire album is incredible, but this song, in particular, is so impactful. There are so many layers that only make the song better as you uncover them.
Interesting note, the line you mentioned at 15:00 is slightly different than the first time he delivered the lyric. The first time he says "I WILL travel far beyond the path of reason" the second time it was "I HAVE travelled".
I’ve listened to soo much music in my life, like sooo much but this one is just absolute perfection. Down to the last little detail. Everything has a purpose, not a wasted word, not a waster melody, even the prodution/mixing choices, everything is thought out. This might be my favourite song of all time even after more than a year…
As mentioned in the comments, people might have missed this is a sort of 'Chockhold part 2' in the album hidden behind the mask of 'Take me back to eden' (the lyrics repeating the lines of chokehold at the end) a common trait of bands that influenced sleep token. How do you do a part 2 without doing a part 2. You make it its own song It took the person who first showed me this band months to realise there was even a call back to that song. I think its as I say another layer added by the group, a call back of sorts to a time when we would take an album home and digest it in its entirety instead of picking out singular tracks, its an experience Fucking epic
One of my favorite songs, from my favorite artist, from a newly favorite content creator. Yeah this checks all the boxes. Subbed. Amazing content and analysis.
They are a reincarnation of TYPE O NEGATIVE but much more ominous voice and multi genre kaleidoscope. An amazing display of vocal art collaboration with a well timed metal intro.... Brilliant as it gets, the birth of a new class of music
Aw, love, just watching your emotions to each crescendo and drop - such a wonderful thing to experience someone else understanding. Thank you! Keep doing what you do; it's nice to see someone else feel the same
My favourite note with this song. The first climax is a warning. "I WILL travel far beyond the path of reason" and it leads into this beautiful high note unlike anything else in the entire album only to go silent leaving you longing for that beautiful sound that never returns. Moving into the end of the album that line changes to "I HAVE travelled far beyond the path of reason" and its so filled with anger and desperation pleading for that beauty that will never return. Leading perfectly into the final track which I won't spoil anything about (but it is my favourite song of all time)
"mirror talk" with the vocoder may also be calling back to DYWTYLM, with it's prominent vocoder use, and the reference that he's talking to and about himself in the mirror. "And my reflection just won't smile back at me like I know it should And I would turn into a stranger in an instant if I could"
I think that, among all the excellent music and amazing lyrics of this album ..... this song is the most impressive to me personally. The lyrics and the music of the chorus comes to me many times throughout the day, it just sticks in my head. And I love the way the music builds in complexity toward the screaming climax. Just wow.
This was the song that started me down the Rabbit Hole that is Sleep Token. I first heard it last year and now they are my most listened to band by far. I have all 3 albums and cant wait to see them live in Leeds in December... WORSHIP...🤘🏻🤘🏻
There's so much going on that she missed but it's a lot to absorb in one listen all the throw backs to past songs on the album. It's definitely a song you gotta listen to a million times but who doesn't wanna keep listening to this song. I gotta thank Lolli for bringing me back to this album over and over. It just so damn amazing.
Loved your reaction video for this. I just discovered sleep token 4 days ago and the obsession has taken over my life. I’m a musician myself who had writers block (not any more)! But I literally cried the first time I heard that key change. Then I cried the next two times I heard it. I’ve stopped crying now but when I saw your face and experienced you hearing that for the first time, knowing you are musically gifted also, I relived that excitement all over again ❤ this is just….. no words. 😶 thankyou
Having only discovered the band in the last week, this song is quickly becoming by favourite among favourites. I really enjoyed your real time reactions and insight, all the time waiting to see what you’d think of the final switch up and it didn’t disappoint. Look forward to seeing more of your videos
I think the best part of this song is realizing at the end, how far it’s gone, warped, transitioned, evolved by the end. It’s so incredibly well written.
i feel like everybody that listens to Sleep Token for the first time, takes a big hit in the ears and the heart... Such amazing voice, power chords, drums that fulfill the song in a perfect way. Once I heard a man who thought they were from a church band. Awesome video, lovely reaction.
This is what got me too. The line in the bridge of TMBTE "no amount of self sought fury can bring back the glory of innocence" and the raw pain of that reality. Just to follow it up with "the night belongs to you" snd "i must be someone new" and how fucking BEAUTIFUL is that. I cant get over how beautifully and devastatingly he structured these two songs to feed into each other. Let alone that Euclid then loops back to The Night Does Not Belong to God. Just brilliant storytelling
"When we were made, it was no accident. We were tangled up like branches in a flood." When these lyrics crawled up from the wash of dissonance in the beginning of Chokehold, it was a proposition. An idea, a hypothesis, something to be tested, turned over in the mind. Why are we here? Why do we think and feel the way we do? Was it an accident? At the end of Take Me Back To Eden, these lines are repeated once again, after the journey of investigation the other songs took us through. Here, beyond the path of reason, there is a realization that these words ARE true, despite the logic and experience that contradict them. The weight of the entire song crashes down, along with the grief that comes with the knowledge that, despite the objectively pointless struggle of life and the hurt that was acknowledged along the way, it was no accident. This feeling builds into a desperate scream, pleading to be brought back to the time before the flood. I still find tears in my eyes at the end of this song, even now. Worship.
This song is the epitome of "takes you on a journey". The story it tells while switching genres, even doing the chorus in 3 different genres and ending with the blast to the face is just....awe inspiring
Just reached your page for the first time. First of, thanks for a great reaction video. You are a bit late on this band but you did give some insight of somethings I haven't noticed and that why I love to see reaction videos. Keep it up 👍
I took the beginning lyrics as he is infatuated with someone so much that he dive head first into intense emotions and everything looks perfect through those rose colored glasses until he tries to relax and ends up drowning and falling deeper into the "ocean". The whole song is essentially about the ignorance bliss of being in deep infatuation with someone and dealing with the abrupt end of that relationship, then trying to come to terms with it being over. You really have to listen to this song multiple times to pick up on all the connections, metaphors and word play, and the emotional connections to the music. The whole album is essentially a metaphor for a toxic relationship and the break up from it, which is also possibly a metaphor for the relationship he has with life in general and the goddess Sleep (if you follow the lore and the last 2 albums)... Also, "It was no Accident" is a call back to Chokehold...
Yes!!! I think thats why this song, especially the bridge, hits me like a fucking train. I sobbed so hard during this bridge when I got to see them live. I couldn't stop crying
@ColieBear18 This song, Chokehold, and the last half of ascensionism make my eyes water every time. There is so much raw emotion, and it connects effortlessly through vessel.
What I love as well about the ending of this song is that throughout the song he is ASKING to be taken back to Eden. YOU know my desire. He is pleading with someone else to give him what he wants. By the end he's tired of asking to get nothing back in return but to be pulled further AWAY from Eden. It's not just a scream of desperation, it's also rage and just outright defiance, like, I've told you what I want and you refuse to give it to me so I am going to get it my damn self.
This song was one of my favorites for a long time, but when i heard Blood Sport (From The Room Below) followed by Euclid, I found my two all time favorite songs. Euclid provides the greatest sense of closure I've ever felt from a band. Blood Sport helped me with a long time issue I've had with past memories; Sleep Token is truly a band worthy of the 'worship' sentiment, and I've loved them ever since i first started hearing them.
Hey luv ur hair like that...too cute...u look adorable as always. I thoroughly enjoy ur reactions as well. Being a former professional musician I luv watchin a musical piece move another listener as much as it does me. U dont just hear ST u FEEL them. N its awesome to know we all connect on sum kind of spiritual level when we hear a masterpiece like this. This whole album brings u along a wonderfully sad yet breathtaking journey. Vessels vocals the precision musicianship of II, III and IV, all the spatial movements provide an immersive experience Ive never felt with any other band. These guys are truly brilliant and very talented. Finish with Euclid...then PLS start at the begining with The Night Does Not Belong To God. Then embrace the entire journey. Being a music enthusiast and teacher and scholar all rolled into one delightful person u my dear will be thrilled. Again its always a pleasure to watch u discover new amazing music...n Im here to watch the journey. Keep up the good work 💯🫶
"We dive through crystal waters... But no one told me not to breathe" I interpret this as drowning. They dove together, but he was unprepared for what was to come, where they would go together... and paid a price for it.
I always thought the final screams were the last part of like the desperation to go back, the last desperate rage. And then the face it fades away and doesn’t just stop means that anger is still there just suppressed …
I loveeeee your content... I've been waiting impatiently for this reaction. If possible could you react to "Higher" by Sleep Token next. Keep up the hard and great work
Tomorrow we're finishing off the album with Euclid! Hope you can make it 💜
Tissues at the ready!
Ok .. . Check, Falling in Reverse , "Prequel"
(mind-blowing)
The night doesn't belong to god would give more context.
You will not be disappointed. Euclid is the perfect song to end this masterpiece of an album.
Guaranteed tears from me, like every listen
Take Me Back to Eden is less of a song, and more of a piece of art. It was so carefully crafted, so perfectly tuned. This is the mountaintop of music. This song is Eden.
🖤
@TheChimeraHouse You are so right, this is more than just good music. It's an experience.
Preach. PREACH!!!!!
❤
I agree so much. I sobbed like a baby during the bridge because it just fucking sucker punched me. "Now lions, obviously, are floor animals." 😂
See, this is the type of crucial information I come to this channel for.
but flions are flying lions
@@blackcountryme and therefore ceiling animals
"No amount of self-sought fury will bring back the glory of innocence" is probably my favor song lyrics, ever. It's fucking perfect. And this song is my favorite to come out is years and years.
That line saved my life. No kidding.
This lyric line is about naivety.
@@jnorcic how so? Genuinely interested. 😊 For me, it’s reminding himself that no matter how angry he gets, it won’t change the past.
@jnorcic the magic about art and stories is we find our own meaning in them. Worship my friend

I love that the song is named Euclid. It brings such a perfect geometry, or symmetry, to the whole trilogy.
Back to the EPssss
Wish she could listen to TNDNBTG first for the full emotional impact 🥺
A few things you mentioned.
1) The lion noise is actually a whale underwater. This is a reference to previous album this place will become your tomb's water theme and the birds referencing air (major theme in the first album). Essentially First bit with birds represents the meeting of Sleep (Sundowning Album) the second bit after the whale noise represents TPWBYT album and his falling into obsession/depression (no one told me not to breathe) and the rest of the song is him digging out of it
2)You mentioned what does the mainframe represent, I believe we are meant to think it is his mind and he is trying to get away from Sleep but is almost having withdraw symptoms. Also calls back to Aqua Regia "these days I'm a circuit board, integrated hardware you cannot afford"
Really? I always thought if it like a gater or dile growl
I love the reference to Chokehold in there as well.
I interpret "no one told me not to breath" as him drowning because he breathed in water while diving in perfect oceans
and as you lose your breath, you breathe in water and no longer feel weightless because now your sinking.
And if you breathe in water you’re no longer weightless
That’s the thing with sleep token it can be interpreted in so many ways and there’s no wrong or right answer
THIS ALBUM IS A F O C K I N G MASTERPIECE !!
IMO , Take Me Back to Eden is him wanting to go back to the beginning of a relationship when things were like Eden , perfect.
Definitely about the beginning of the relationship with his ex that their entire song catalog is about.
Discovering this band was like learning a language and being emersed in a new culture. This song blends so many aspects and genres of music and expresses them in new ways with intricate lyrics. I enjoyed your reaction and admiration of the complexity. God tier indeed.
Vessel said he was becoming angry enough to bite back. Then he did at the end of the track 👍
what A DAY TO WORSHIP.

Your face during the bridge was perfect. That bridge fucks me up EVERY. TIME. I started sobbing during the bridge when I saw it live. It is fucking incredible.
There's a callback to Chokehold just before it gets Djenty - the background vocals are singing the first two lines:
_When we were made, It was no accident, we were tangled up like branches in a flood_
Hopped in the comments to point that out as well. Thanks.

Love that you actually discussed interesting parts that I never could have noticed.
Yesss, finally - my favourite from the album. It's not a song, it's a journey ❤
That was an epic reaction. Your facial expressions relate to us all. I think take me back to Eden means take me back to when things were simpler. He’s battling mental illness.

This whole album is a masterclass in how to write music.
It really is. I've never listened to anything like it
💯
This song gave me goosebumps. Goosebumps everywhere. But in the best way possible
❤❤❤ thank you so much for your wonderful breakdowns of my favorite band. So lovely
I’ve listened to soo much music in my life, like sooo much but this one is just absolute perfection. Down to the last little detail. Everything has a purpose, not a wasted word, not a waster melody, even the prodution/mixing choices, everything is thought out.
This might be my favourite song of all time even after more than a year…
Lolli: Oh birdies! Thats not very metal is it
Cassowary: You rang?
Also bone eating Bearded vultures. Then there's strikes. Cute but horrifying creatures. Absolutely horrifying.
The one we've all been waiting for!
I can see you feel music as I do, not everyone ls fortunate enough to. Your vids are awesome and genuine!! Much love!!!
I’ve loved everything you have done for so long! You get me through a lot of days I love you!!
Watching BipolarBLKSheep struggle with ads just to end up subbing for 3 months was hilarious 😂
LMAOO dude i was laughing at that too
For soOhoh long we have waited…
Loved this reaction, you are so going to love Euclid x
This is why this and Calcutta are my favorite songs by them. Raw emotion, story telling and the punch at the end

Seen this on the stream. The greatest reaction/breakdown/appreciation video for this song ever made.
NGL, I've been waiting for this whole playlist to get here in the journey. So much excite!
My favourite note with this song. The first climax is a warning. "I WILL travel far beyond the path of reason" and it leads into this beautiful high note unlike anything else in the entire album only to go silent leaving you longing for that beautiful sound that never returns. My favourite song by Sleep Token, fell in love with them back in May, life changing band for my mid twennies 😂
Fun fact: the birdies are there at the start of chokehold if you listen carefully enough
Yaaay brilliant as always 😊

If the music went from the sky to the ground then that breakdown was below the ground. Absolutely hellish 😂
The talent of everyone involved with Sleep Token is astounding.

I really enjoyed your real time reactions and insight, all the time waiting to see what you’d think of the final switch up and it didn’t disappoint. Look forward to seeing more of your videos
oh man you are so gonna love euclid!
I think the best part of this song is realizing at the end, how far it’s gone, warped, transitioned, evolved by the end. It’s so incredibly well written.

You are so good at putting together the story. Remarkable work.
Perfection. And now for EUCLID. The most beautiful realisation……. Time to be somebody new

This song is the epitome of "takes you on a journey". The story it tells while switching genres, even doing the chorus in 3 different genres and ending with the blast to the face is just....awe inspiring
Lolli you're a gem thank you
been waiting for this for over a year!
Vessel is brilliant. I often have no idea what he MEANS, but it sounds awesome and that's good enough for me. Love your reactions, thanks!
Full on chills the entire song.. I've only heard this one about a million times, but still, every time... That's good writing right there..
So looking forward to you doing Euclid; I'mma have a whole box of tissues ready! XD
You did such an amazing job analyzing this song!
This entire album was a journey. Absolutely loved it.
I think the mainframe is his world crashing down around him , unrequited love no doubt.
You’re doing remarkable things with your style!
I've been waiting for this song reaction! Love this song so much.
pure goosebumps...constantly
you should see them live, and chronicle your experience. the enegry of a band playing live, is so elivating.
Especially because Vessel is INSANELY good live. I've never listened to another band where I prefer the live versions. He's an incredible singer
Absolute poetry.
I love this song. Great reaction! I learned so much! Love your interpretation.
Gosh, I love your sleep token reviews so much. Please continue on to the other albums. I don’t even care what songs you pick.
That was one hell of a journey!
Your insight on a first listen is truly incredible.
Just reached your page for the first time. First of, thanks for a great reaction video. You are a bit late on this band but you did give some insight of somethings I haven't noticed and that why I love to see reaction videos. Keep it up 👍
I’m excited more of your reaction p, then even Artist’s song itself ))
This could be one of the most beautiful songs written.
This was the one I was waiting for.
This song is absolute perfection. I love it.
Euclid is my favourite song of all time (maybe tied with ekki mukk - sigur ros)… can’t wait 🤩
Sigur Rós is one of my all time favorites. Ekki mukk has gotta be tied for first with Svefn-g-englar for me. No one ever knows or likes them
Hey luv ur hair like that...too cute...u look adorable as always. Keep up the good work 💯🫶
Great reaction and you will love euclid
The anger at the last part is so specific. like how he frustrated because he wants to go back to Eden. ffs Vessel is musically genius.
Gosh, I like how you explain things
"We dive through crystal waters... But no one told me not to breathe" I interpret this as drowning. They dove together, but he was unprepared for what was to come, where they would go together... and paid a price for it.
I always thought the final screams were the last part of like the desperation to go back, the last desperate rage. And then the face it fades away and doesn’t just stop means that anger is still there just suppressed …
Just grabs you this one, doesn't it!
This is such a masterpiece of a song
I loveeeee your content... I've been waiting impatiently for this reaction. If possible could you react to "Higher" by Sleep Token next. Keep up the hard and great work
"Higher" hell yeaaaaaaaahhh
