That was a great series in pakistan prior to india ,some unbeleivable bowling by imran khan ,bowling some big incutters and inswinging delivery,imran picked 40wickets and more than 50%were bowled.one of first series telecast live on doordarshan..only Jimmy amarnath had a excellant series,even gavaskar by his standards was average in that series..

I watched that game. Gavaskar made 5, caught off his glove. India ended first day at 4/188. Amarnath got his 3rd 100 of the series in the second innings. Mudassar Nazar got 152, lbw off a Kapil full- toss. Kirmani took a blinder down the leg side off Sandhu- Miandad way toying with the attack at that point...!!

@@jaisnair you have to see the matches to believe it ,that series was nothing like what I been seeing now after almost 4decades even now I can say that series the bowling by imran was unplayable and nobody could play such incutters ,these days nobody bowls such deliveries infact imran Khan was a very egoistic man at the time ,as the story goes he hit one of the spectators with his leg after he came rushing to him to get his autograph and immediately after 2-3months he had a knee Injury and imran Khan never again became the bowler he was on a consistent basis ,this is just to illustrate that imran Khan just for that one series where he got 40wickets ,has to be in the great list ,u can also watch the one series rothmans cup in Sharjah where he had india bowled out for 125 with superb figures of 6/14,the famous match which india won after pakistan got bowled out for 87. which u can watch the video in you tube still .so I would consider Imran also equally great bowler.
