Michael Holding Takes Us Back To 1983 | Is He The Morgan Freeman of Cricket? | BwC S2E3
    8 Lakhs+ Views
"He's one of my all time favourites.
Today I sit down with Mikey to talk about the glorious era of West Indies cricket, and attempt to convince him to like T20 cricket a little bit." - GK
Today we listen to "Whispering Death". No, we aren't visiting any haunted place, we are breakfasting with the Jamaican bowling legend, from the era of the invincible West Indies - Michael Holding. We can point out his achievements to you, but that is for other channels to do. We bring stories, and we hear it from Mikey as he sips something that rhymes with uhhh...gum. Let's hear what his headmaster told him in his school days, how would he dial a call from Bombay to Jamaica, how fast bowlers can bowl even faster and how he got the name - Whispering Death.
This episode tastes best with Chai and butter toast. Happy watching!

Superbly well written & researched...IMO Ponting would have got himself killed with that initial front foot press...Gilchrist would be the only one IMO who could have had consistent success, and Steve Waugh would definitely have fought hard, but without the same degree of success he had after 1994ish...Just my opinion though (assuming both teams at their prime, and not the WI after 1984, when Roberts retired & Mikey had only 3 more years of tests left in him)...

So people either pick the shorter interviews or the longer ones, but there's obviously a trade-off for video popularity when you do Part 1. and Part 2.

I will never forget seeing this man as a young kid during the 1996 World Cup. My first cricket match in a stadium was a World Cup game being played between Zimbabwe and West Indies at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Hyderabad. My dad and I walk in to the stadium, heading towards our seats I encounter this giant of a man, and until then I don’t think I’d ever come across anyone built like Micheal Holding. I didn’t even know who he was, but Dad being the cricket fan that he is waxed lyrical about one of the greatest bowlers to have graced the game. I’m just so privileged to have seen this man in person. Whispering Death.

Lovely to see Mikey Holding, but the interviewer's got to learn to adapt. Looks like Holding doesn't suffer fools gladly, and he just about suffered this one.

one of the best episodes of BWC, straight out of the heart. One thing I really love about West Indian Cricket Team (maybe the old gold one), they really speak their mind, no holding back, and then it's the time when you really connect !! Thanks, Mikey and Gaurav.

Michael Holding, a player of my era, a cricketing great and a legend now! This is the best show where cricketers are interviewed! Gaurav does a superb job. Very spontaneous. His laughter is natural or at least seems so! 😊 Does not pretend to know technicalities of cricket or general knowledge of cricket. Actually it is a wonderful conversation and not an interview! Bravo Gaurav! Don't ever add frivolous things like "brain fade" and "rapid fire" and "hammer test" !

I've had an wonderful time watching the series esp. the ones featuring Bishan Singh Bedi, Yuvi and now, Michael Holding. Wish you the best for the rest of the series, hope to see many more awesome and witty gentlemen on the show with you.
    Thanks & Cheers!
