Jesus how did I ever never hear this version.... I love Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, and Deep Purple....... This is the first time I have heard this exceptional cover.....
Once again I wonder where these pearls have been hidden from me all the time. This one is really good, but the original has an outstanding position in my list of alltime-favourites...;-)
Bruce Dickinson is without a doubt the 8th wonder of the world. No one, and I mean absolutely no one in metal yesterday, today or in the future can or will come close to his voice. Thanks for putting this on. I didn't even know Bruce teamed up with DT and did this.Oh yeah...DP rocks!
I've always said this song would suit Bruce's voice and I didn't know this existed I just googled Iron Maiden Perfect Strangers and was amazed that Bruce actually did it and with Dream Theater wow!
THis is during an old BBC radio show that Bruce had in UK. DT was intervied by Bruce, and in the end of the show they played this song together. Some say that there are a lot of covers sung by Bruce from this age. It's nice! :D
Wow! amazing, amazing vocal. What a timbre and quality to that voice. Bruce is most assuredly one of the best rock/metal voices of all time. I love Ian G. as well but this was amazing. Love the song....love this rendition.
Can you remember, remember my name? As I flow through your life A thousand oceans I have flown And cold spirits of ice All my life I am the echo of your past (echo of your past) I am returning the echo of a point in time Distant faces shine A thousand warriors I have known And laughing as the spirits appear All your, all your life shadows of another day And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand we must remain Perfect strangers I know I know, I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow A strand of silver hanging through the sky Touching more than you see The voice of ages in your mind Oh, is aching with the dead of the night Oh oh precious life Your tears are lost in falling rain And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand we must remain Perfect strang
I think Bruce is likely one of the great rock singers of all time. But I think I prefer Gillan's voice on this tune. Both of those guys really have the extreme pipes. Amazing.
Back in 1980's my first Heavy Metal Band was Iron Maiden "Eddie" always caught my eye & in 1993 I became their Fan club member from Pakistan. I still listen to them, Bruce has a unique killing voice. X Factor was done by Blaze Bailey, I gotta say Bruce & Bailey are unique blends & they are far better than perfect. Now cover for Deep Purple, with DT wow. Thanks to 3 young guys who started RUclips so we may watch these epic videos. They sold RUclips, sold to google for $1.65 Bill. Thanks for vid:)
this is such a classic bruce dickenson tearing so professionally thru this blackmore gillian lord masterpiece but what happened to the lead that shit was sad as all hell till about a min in blackmore laughs heartily with a ever growing head !!!!! this was the first time i heard this version and I'm impressed and yet i remain humble but entertained MONGO IS OUTIE DEUCES love peace and chicken grease a dear child used to say to me apron her departure
I'm going to see Maiden w/DTopening for them this summer! Would be awesome if they play something together! Seen both seperate many times. First time for the combo. Always great to see a rocker that is my age and still hot. xoxo Bruce!
no way Bruce could sing child in time. He hit that A once in his life, it's the scream you can hear in number of the beast. He was never able to do it again. And in child in time he would have to hit an A 4 times.
He hit it on the last note of flight of icarus and actually alot more on some live shows but yeah i dont think bruce can do it past the samson/early maiden era
Considering Ian Gillian was an inspiration of bruce's, not surprised at all he sounds so perfect here. Now we need him covering another one of his inspirations, Peter hammill.
As for the video: OMG, this version is just so powerful. Probably one of the best I've heard, surely beats the pure-DT version. If only it were a bit slower...
i saw DT once back in 1996, i think it was, at the house of blues in hollywood california, and Bruce Dickenson came on stage with DT and they did 3 or 4 songs together. dont really remember exactly what songs they did, but i think perfect strangers was one of them. All i really remember; " was thinking........HOW FUCKEN AWESOME IS THIS". And to my knowledge, it was bruce who played a big part in getting things rolling for DT, as far as expenses and costs. i could possibly be wrong about that but i believe i read it somewhere, way back in the day, in the early 90s
Dream Theater + Bruce Dickinson = heavy metal perfection
Jesus how did I ever never hear this version.... I love Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, and Deep Purple....... This is the first time I have heard this exceptional cover.....
Bruce Dickinson has always been a great admirer of Ian Gillan. He did this superb song total justice.

When you are the man ( Bruce ) and you have the band ( Dream Theater ), You become the GODS of METAL.
Actually they already are 🤘.
No one can match Gillan on this song but Bruce sounds just like him badass
Bruce is amazing in anything he does no doubt.
Once again I wonder where these pearls have been hidden from me all the time. This one is really good, but the original has an outstanding position in my list of alltime-favourites...;-)

Definitely agree. Ever since his beginnings with Samson to Iron Maiden to going solo for a little while, Bruce has a great career highlight
Adrian Barilari.
Right. I thought no way can anyone come close to Gillan but Bruce smashes it. One of his best vocals
bruce is beyond discripction.truly the best voice on the planet .trust me it will never change .cant b toped.
Would like to hear Bruce do "Pull me under", I think he would sound good.
agree !!!!
I would also love him singing "Rainbow in the Dark"
Dickinson blows Labrie away...period.
Although I love Bruce's voice I can't imagine in "Pull Me Under" someone another than James LaBrie...
Labrie is a talented vocalist however bruce wouldnt sound like a dyin cat in the higher notes
I've always said this song would suit Bruce's voice and I didn't know this existed I just googled Iron Maiden Perfect Strangers and was amazed that Bruce actually did it and with Dream Theater wow!
Deep Purple... Dream Theater... Iron Maiden Lo mejor de lo MEJOR DE LO MEJOR!!!

This is so Perfect! stranger.
Absolutely amazing, I think Bruce would be a great prog singer.
He already is 👍🏼
Nice to finally hear Dream Theater with a vocalist that can actually sing for once!
Surely you jest! James LaBrie absolutely destroys Bruce on Dream Theater's version of this song on A Change of Seasons. Please....lol.
Fuck off James was amazing

Wow! amazing, amazing vocal. What a timbre and quality to that voice. Bruce is most assuredly one of the best rock/metal voices of all time. I love Ian G. as well but this was amazing.

Can you remember, remember my name?
As I flow through your life
A thousand oceans I have flown
And cold spirits of ice
All my life I am the echo of your past (echo of your past)
I am returning the echo of a point in time

And laughing as the spirits appear
All your, all your life shadows of another day
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand we must remain
Perfect strangers
I know
I know, I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow
A strand of silver hanging through the sky
Touching more than you see
The voice of ages in your mind
Oh, is aching with the dead of the night
Oh oh precious life
Your tears are lost in falling rain
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand we must remain
Perfect strang
So Perfect!
Ficou irado.
simply the best metal singer in the universe!!!!!!!!!!!
Perfect song, perfect interpretation, and whit a perfect girl by my side. Love u, Mariana! S2
I think Bruce is likely one of the great rock singers of all time. But I think I prefer Gillan's voice on this tune. Both of those guys really have the extreme pipes. Amazing.
it is definitively Bruce Dickinson... listen to the vibrato.. it is only he who can get it that good... also the specter in the voice... awsomme :D
BRUCE BRUCE IS DA MAN!!!!AND THIS COVER WITH DT ROCKZ HELLLS OFF!!!
Back in 1980's my first Heavy Metal Band was Iron Maiden "Eddie" always caught my eye & in 1993 I became their Fan club member from Pakistan. I still listen to them, Bruce has a unique killing voice. I like the original by DP, but I will say that this most certainly kicks ass.
Bruce made a good justice for this song.
Holy.
Fucking.

Bruce Dickinson & Dream Theater covering Deep Purple?
I must've died and gone to heaven.
this is such a classic bruce dickenson tearing so professionally thru this blackmore gillian lord masterpiece but what happened to the lead that shit was sad as all hell till about a min in blackmore laughs heartily with a ever growing head !!!!! this was the first time i heard this version and I'm impressed and yet i remain humble but entertained MONGO IS OUTIE DEUCES love peace and chicken grease a dear child used to say to me apron her departure
Legend musicians get together and good things happen.
Great rendition. The best way to listen to a cover is to pretend you never heard the original, not compare.
WOW!! I never imagine DT with Bruce together!!
AMAZING COVER
I'm going to see Maiden w/DTopening for them this summer! Would be awesome if they play something together! Seen both seperate many times. First time for the combo. Always great to see a rocker that is my age and still hot. xoxo Bruce!
I always say I .I love this
Perfect combination
So awesome when the musicians who make up this genre say "I wish so bad that I (we) wrote this song so I'm (we're) gonna make it even better!"

Still jamming to this 12 years later.
As for the video: OMG, this version is just so powerful. Probably one of the best I've heard, surely beats the pure-DT version. If only it were a bit slower...

I think Dickinson's voice is one of the fittest to sing this song, along with Gillan's and LaBrie's.
rola in brazil is dick..super rola = big dick.. heuheuhuehe

good stuff, loved it,very interesting hearing Bruce singing, and the rest-awesome job! One of the best metal songs ever !
So Cool❤❤❤
I think that Dream Theater doesn't need Bruce Dickinson as a singer, only as an idol.
Great combination !
Perfect!!!
I've had this version on MP3 for years, but never realised it was Dream Theater playing until now!
How to get a perfect song perfomed perfectly with a different style
