Saved me 2g’s easy. Did take me 6 hours and a lot of cuss words but appreciate your video lads. Also anybody reading this. Once you get it put on. You look usually have to adjust the beam lights. Just a screw driver can do it but I would recommend doing it before you place the bumper back on because the high beams it’s hard to reach. But the regular light you can reach just fine if you already placed the bumper back on
Did you also replace the high-beams with LEDs? Or did you just use halogens for the high-beams? Just curious. That's my only question; thank you for the video!
Doing this exact repair with the led upgrade on my wife's 2012 SRX today. Her low beams are like two candles on the bumper. Heat is the culprit that destroyed the reflector and the led upgrade should solve the problem. I also saw another video where someone had used clear RTV to enhance the seal around the headlight casing and thought I would do that while I am at it. Leaking headlight seals are an acknowledged issue that resulted in the claims and settlements last year. I found clear RTV at Home depot. It wasn't readily available in the auto parts stores near me.
only the H.I.D lights have the control unit under the light can. i have three lights I'm sealing now and then i can get rid of them if you're interested i still have to test them. but the always came back after the dries out.
I must have spent. $300 or more on aftermarket lights for my wife’s 2012 SRX. I saved all receipts, sent them to GM for the class action suit, and was denied, for what reason I don’t know! F GM
Hey guys fantastic job ,have to do this to my sons car ,he’s going to help, but I don’t see a link for the headlights that you purchased off of Amazon could you please tell me which brand of lights you purchased? Thanks
I have hid lights they move to follow the steering and they have a ballast attached to the bottom of the light assembly. The replacement lights cost 1,600 dollars each to replace the only place I could find them was on the GM website. The problem was that they would have water intrusion from a vent at the bottom of the assembly.
Just ordered new headlights for my 2013 srx to put on I also put LED LIGHTS IN AND IT WAS STILL DIM IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS so I'm waiting for the headlights to come in now to replace
Open up your old headlights and look at the reflector buckets they are burned to a crisp halogen bulbs run 400 degrees LED runs 85 degrees yet are just as bright did the change in 2 hrs alone piece of cake
I ordered both the LED's and headlights per your link. The LED lights do not fit into the sockets, so how did you fit them into those metal holding rings that lock the bulb in? No I am stuck here waiting for help.
Your link sent me to buy Amazon's FX1 9012 bulbs. When I stopped your video @ 7:03 the type bulb on YOUR box says you have H11 type FX1 bulbs. Can you post the CORRECT Amazon link so I can buy the right bulbs please?
What is the part number for the size of the LED bulbs used the link has and offers several part numbers ? Thank you need to replace the ones in my 2011 srx
Ummm what about the headlight brackets which you didn't remove from the original headlights to install on the new headlights? Oh that's right... You smashed them with a sledgehammer!!! Lol WHOEVER IS DOING THIS JOB PLEASE REMOVE THE HEADLIGHT BRACKET FROM YOUR OLD HEADLIGHTS AND INSTALL THEM ON THE NEW HEADLIGHT. The bracket is at the bottom of your original headlight held in place with just 2 or 3 snap on clips.
I have a 2015 SRX4 that headlights were the same. I also tried bulbs first with same results. Car has been family owned from new, dealer quoted about $1500, no discount, no assistance at all. I did the same thing. Amazon housings and LEDs (different Brand). As you said it's a design flaw. The halogens burn too hot and the chrome bowl gets destroyed. This is the way the car should have been from new. 2 years and still perfect. I spent about $275 on housings, $80 on 2 sets of LEDs (high and low) I even bought oem style fog lights and LEDs for those. So for less money now have fogs, all LEDs, new housings and the problem is actually fixed..
Acanii were the brand housings I bought on amazon, the LED bulbs are auxbeam s3 for the low and high beam. The car is my daily driver and they are as good as the day installed in 2020.
Im new to all this trying to research all i can im having same issue they told me 2000$ im a female i figured it be outrageous but my goodness.. So im going to do it myself.. Well ima try lol. With the new housing im going to get the high low beam led also and the led fog lights. Do i need to get new turn signal bulbs as well? Also can you be specific on the exact kind you got for yours all of it in detail PLEASE
@rooseveltsawyer7609 these guys did a bang up job! I went with ACANII assemblies and bought LED bulbs! Well worth it. Watch these guys a couple times. I came across their video after I did mine!

Nailed it on all counts, the reason, the solution and the finished product.
Thanks Jeffrey. We appreciate your support!
@@TheManEvent are these headlights still holding good for your srx ? I m planning to install one
Great video, easy process. I had one problem both lights with LED wouldn’t work. Flipped plugs. Kinda aggravating
Your video was so helpful. Just completed the change exactly you gentlemen stated. Thank you
Dealing with the same issue. Great video!
This is the right one right one folks. Don't just replace. The culprits are cheap parts and heat.
Did you also replace the high-beams with LEDs? Or did you just use halogens for the high-beams?

I believe he said the high heat halogen bulbs was the problem, over time it dulled the chrome on the inside thus doing away with the bright reflection

my problem was moisture
Great info. Lots of work. I have a 2010 srx. Same problem. Bad engineering my opinion

Muchas gracias por la información para el carro de mi hijo 😃gracias
Great video.....now I hope it goes pretty easy for me👍👍👍
Did you encounter any error code messages, did you have to use a can-bus adapter on the LEDs?
Thank you you guys are awesome 👍
Did you have to aim the new headlight assembly or were they good right out of the box?
did you have moisture in yours at all?
Hey guys fantastic job ,have to do this to my sons car ,he’s going to help, but I don’t see a link for the headlights that you purchased off of Amazon could you please tell me which brand of lights you purchased?

How did the headlamp assembly hold up? Any moisture inside ?
So far so good Andrew! Maybe we’ll do an update video in a few months. Thanks for watching.
Can that burned housing be replaced?

Will theses aftermarket lights work with the active motion system?
The Amazon link is not working. Can you give me more information please?

Led or halogen?
Same issue. Changed bulbs. Still really dim and dangerous
Can you use the Farhen headlights in both low and high beams?
can you tell me what specific head lamps you purchase from Amazon? I am going to have to do the same thing to my car?

My SRX has HID assembly and I can’t find replacement assembly. Does anyone know if I can buy Halogen assembly and put led bulbs

Instead of filming the guy doing the talking and pointing to screws, etc, show the screw, bolt etc. seeing his face does no good. Thanks
