This video was a huge help! When I originally installed the LED bulbs in my projectors I did notice the light output and pattern seemed offset. But assumed that’s just how they are since it’s not HIDs. And then when I saw this video about LED bulbs oriented to 9 & 3. I went back to check my bulbs and sure enough they were unaligned. So I had to readjust them to 9 & 3 position. And now the light beams look just like your example of properly aligned bulbs. Thank you and God bless you Po! 🙏🏼
Hi King Jesus Channel. We are glad to hear that we were able to help you with this content. Thank you for watching and took time to drop a comment. God Bless you too and always stay safe.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this information on LED bulbs. Just bought LED headlight bulbs and will have it placed to the 9 to 3 orientation. Salamat!
I have had a few different LED bulbs that were clockable, wasn't too fond of most of them as the design would allow them to slip out of adjustment when being installed because of the mounting tabs sometimes not being in tolerance with the housing slots, and causing the locking collars to slip. As someone who test out various lights myself, I know about clocking, but for those who don't, you have made a very educational, informative video. Not everyone who makes a video on RUclips knows what they are talking about.... thanks for helping people by being someone who does. 👏
I tried using the 9&3 headlight setting on my Civic UFO, and while it did make the road brighter for me, I noticed that it could potentially glare into the eyes of any drivers coming towards me. So, I decided to switch to the 12&6 setting instead, as it seemed safer for everyone on the road. With the 12&6 setting, I could still see the road clearly, but without causing any inconvenience or danger to other drivers. Even my wife agreed that the 12&6 setting was the better choice for the safety of all road users, especially those coming towards us. But lastly for the down fog lights 9&3 are the best as you are not blocking any upcoming driver because your lights are mostly facing down when driving on streets
This was not a good video, it was a GREAT video. One of the best, if not THE BEST video covering installation and adjustment of new led lights, comparison, etc. 👍🏻
You must have bought some very cheap bulbs! Because all the reputable companies have instructions on installation and the orientation in which the bulbs need to be for a correct beam pattern.
Interesting video! After installing new LEDs for my projector headlights, I noticed it was misaligned. This video helped me how to align my LEDs better :)
Very Precise Info ! I have an Osram HB3 LED, should I align the LED strip in a way that it is perpendicular to the smallest of the three clips on the LED bulb ?
Best led lights for headlights are 9 & 3!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER 12 & 6 what is wrong with companies making 12 & 6 for!!!!!! STOP WASTING PEOPLE'S INSTALLATION TIME WITH WRONG LED BULBS POSITION of 12 & 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought some headlight expert bulbs i told them they will not clock to 9&3 more like 10&4 so then they tell me 9012 bulbs should be at 12&6?? Any truth to this ya think?

I've noticed that many of the newer headlight designs have a shade with only side openings, i.e. the LED lights are supposed to illuminate the 3 and 9 o'clock positions.
Thank you so much for your help. i had a "professional" install new H11 and he could not understand why, one side was dimmer than the other side. but i searched the web and i found you. i did it myself. the only tool i used was an island tool, luckily i had such tool. you saved me time and money, because you explained the positions. Again Thank you so much. i subscribe.
Thanks for vid. My led bulbs on motorcycle kept blinding on coming drivers and they would not adjust lower. My bulbs were adjusted to 6 and 12 o'clock. Will change in the morning to 3 and 9 then readjust.
This is a good informational video. Now all i need to do is find a moderately priced bulb that is bright enough for me to see but not so blinding it's dangerous to incoming traffic.
Just wanted to thank u for this awesome video went checked my led and weren't aligned now thanks to u they are perfect 👌 thanks for showing step by step on how to do it
Thank you for the information. We put L.E.D. bulbs in my sons car. The light doesn't seem to be what it should be. We will have to check the position of the bulbs.
Thank you very, I was literally headed outside to install my new Auxito LED lights then your video came across my feed as I was getting up to head outside, I was just going to put them in regardless of how they were seated thanks again 😊
I have always hated this retrofit LED era. They will never beat a proper HID kit. Factory LEDs are better as the reflector/projector is designed for the LED. But retrofitting is always a compromise. I tried them and could never get rid of shadows in my projector and the output was disappointing as they weren't much brighter than the halogen. Fitted a HID and never looked back... miles better output and a nice even beam.
Not really for "fog light" application, the 12-6 orientation is too scattered and arches upward which blinds oncoming traffic while light is evenly dispersed in the 9-3 orientation giving it better coverage of the road ahead.
@@Medic558 "arches upward" - it's called assymetric beam pattern and it's a legal requirement at least in Europe. Also higher intensity just below the cutoff line should provide much greater range which is crucial for safety.
Read this OPs comment if you are struggling with led brightness. Projector light reflectors have a larger area on top than on sides so 12-6 will give a brighter output, even though a bit more uneven than 9-3
I’ve installed similar type of leds on a 2016 honda crv fog lights 9 to 3, but I still blind upcoming traffic that way! The fog lights are reflectors, is the 12 to 6 way should change that or what can I do to fix it?
Hi JC Rosario thank you for watching. IMHO LED's are not designed for reflector headlights and fog lights. Due to the LED's high intensity brightness, it produces unwanted glare. One way to reduce the glare is to tilt down the beam angle. Reflector fog lights are designed to project a scattered light. Installing high lumens bulb will definitely cause discomfort to the on coming traffic.
I can’t find a proper led bulbs for my 2006 Honda crv, I just wondering there’s a compatible bulb like what you installed in your car and so with the fog light bulb
Hi kyle, i have no idea. Since most of the vehicle now have the auto leveling headlight. Nissan discontinued this feature on the newer Terra models, as well. Thanks
Is this also a reason why there are dark spots on the road when I drive? I put 9005 LEDs in a projector housing for the headlights, when they are made for halogen.
I really need help, I ordered a pair of oxilam’s (9012) for my 2014 Durango and when locking it into place, the chips are sitting at about the 10 and 4 or 11 and 5 o’clock position…sadly they aren’t adjustable. Are there any work-arounds for this or will I have to return them?
Hi there. I keep return most led headlight for my Lexus es350 2009 there is none fit it but auto part said H7 must fit and Amazon said so....should I replace wire connectors socket?
Hello i replaced my halogen bulb with auxbeam gx i got much brighter light but unfortunately i lost the distance as my halogen reach father distance I noticed that my halogen bulbs are shorter (bulb length)than the led and i think this affect light focusing how could i solve this my led is h9
Hi ahmad kareem, some leds dont produce a good beam patern. Some are poorly designed, resulting to bad light output. If the led is longer that the halogen is fine, what is important is the height of the led diodes should match the height of the halogen filament. This will be in my upcoming vlog. Thanks
I got free leds because guy couldnt clock them. I trried but the positioning and the screw set positions would not allow a 3 9 position, more like 4 and 10. I removed the screw, set perpendicular so 3 9 then added a dab of superglue to the screw hole. They have been set 3 9 for a year now.
Thanks for the video! I have a dumb question, what's the technical difference between Fog Light vs High Beam? (aside from the position and functionality) I'm trying to buy a replacement for my high beam and found one but its advertise as fog light and compare it to other high beams I can't seem to see the technical difference between them.
If the bulb number and color is the same then it doesn’t matter, it’s position on the vehicle will ultimately decide if it is functioning as a fog light or a high beam and the reflector it’s installed behind dictates the light pattern so you can ignore the “fog” label.
Hi Nurshahqeisha 2016. No worries, we are all learning. The light beam pattern are dependent on the light housing. Thanks for this very helpful video. Which brand of LED are you using which came with adjustable LED head?

How did you adjust the height of the light output in real time after installation? That was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!
HIs car had height adjustment servos and a selector on the panel.
Hi Aeoreka2, i just clocked the led in the proper alignment resulting to a better beam patern. Thank you

Convenience. I love the light intensity of HIDs however the ballast are such a hassle. With LEDs the drivers are compact. Thanks huangalden
