Hi from the UK Margaret. The bathroom looks brilliant, you did a grand job. I am 62 and like you am content with the life I have. I have not always enjoyed parts of my life and I don’t want to be rich or better looking or have this and that. Just health and happiness and the love of those who matter to me. Contentment is underrated I think. Give me the rustle of the trees the song of the birds, the smell of the sea and the love of my family, that’s joy for me. I am very happy to see you in a new video! I am almost 76, I live alone, I have been retired for 16 years, I raised 4 children and helped with several of my grandchildren. I have had lots of hobbies along the way, but my favoite of all were the kids!! They were the best thing of my life! And I hope the next 10 years has to do with them!

I am 78 and so glad I have found your channel! After hearing you speak about your past, I can identify so much with your words about not being around at 70. My past was very bleak at times, from childhood through midlife. I am just now coming to terms with my future. I have three living children and don’t see much chance of them taking care of me, if it comes to that. So I just try to keep busy (and healthy), and look for the good things.

I am 71 and hope to be as agile as I can be in 10 years, I keep busy with painting and decorating too. I have just done 3 rooms in the house and waiting for the very wet and cold weather to go then I can get out in the garden and start to tidy that up, and plant some pots up.
I go line dancing twice a week so that keeps mind and body going too,
I agree with you about us mature folk..we could sort out the world !!!

75 have lots of problems
With my knees (arthritis). I’m a retired nurse so I’m not into traveling , I like staying home and being happy reading and doing things around the house. I’ve been making bracelets for girls 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14 for Christmas Child . So it keeps me from getting in trouble !!!!! I’ve missed you so glad to see ya today . I had 1 daughter and she’s unable to have children . It makes me sad but I try but to dwell on that . Take care love from West Virginia

I’m 60. We are raising our grandson who is 4 years old. When I am 80 I hope my husband and I will still be around for him. We love him to pieces ❤

Oh wow! Your bathroom is BEAUTIFUL! Very nice! With the eclipse yesterday, we had just over 3 minutes of total darkness. It was the coolest thing ever. I didn't try to see the eclipse itself. I sat indoors and watched the changes in the landscape through my window. Even the street lights came on! It was awesome. My 70th birthday is in a few weeks. I have my own set of health issues at this age, but still in fairly good shape for my age. If I can continue my life as it is, without setbacks, for the next decade plus, I'll be satisfied. I'm at peace. I'm happier at this age and more content than I've been my entire life. Sure, there are things I'd like to change but they all involve material things that basically need to be upgraded but will do for now. Those things aren't super important to me. My biggest concern beyond my fragile bones is whether the world around me in the years to come will allow me to remain content and happy in my old age. I don't even stress about that very much though. What will be, will be. I'll deal when and if the time comes. Take care, Margaret! See you next time!

Love the bathroom! I plan on being around till 100 plus also! My mom just turned 94 and is in good shape physically and mentally still, so hopefully I have here genes.
My little grandbaby decided to make an appearance early, at 29 weeks. He wasn't due till June 23rd, but is doing really well so far. Hard and worrying for the mom and dad but they're coping really well too. I've been busy the last couple of months batch cooking meals for them etc as mom was on complete bedrest and my son still had to work. Anyway, you definitely seem content these days and isn't it just lovely? 🙂

I too did my kitchen and bathroom cabinets white. I love how the white wakes up the rooms. I'm in my 80'th year, b-day in December and I'm happy, health (even with arthritis) alone but not lonely. Never thought about being this age as age was always just a number but now I seem to think of it as how many more years will the good Lord give me. My daughters are very attentive, sometimes too much but I know they love me. Since my hubby passed after 55 years I just have myself to contend with and this is totally different but am slowly getting used to it. Stay healthy Margaret and continue to do your wonderful work!!

Well, I'll be 73 next month, been retired for 11 years now. In 10 years from now I see myself experiencing more of the same too. Margaret you did an Amazing job on the bathroom. Its so much brighter and modern. Listening to you talk about your life being hard and difficult. Your not alone some of us have had our crosses to bare. I know it can be a long journey to find your Peace. I am so happy for you that you are content and loving your time with your little one. I had that time with my 2 granddaughters for 8 years and lost it with my eldest and his family moving 5 hours away due to a big promotion at his job. I miss them so much. Then my youngest and only daughter moved to the South 12 hours away to spread her wings after college at 25 she got engaged i planned her wedding here back home we did it all by video chats. They had their wedding before Christmas 2019 went back to Atlanta and Covid hit i didn't see her in person for 2 years. During that time she got her Masters degree to be a Media specialist Librarian and she is an elementary teacher she babysits cats and walks a dog for the elderly in her building. I am so proud of her and her tenacity. She is like i use to be. Go go go and doing for others. I miss her companionship we never had a bad word between us. She is my little soulmate. I am so happy for her and blessed to have such a great relationship with her but I miss her so much that I've aged and lost my zest for life. I've had so many health issues and it has left me depressed. The joy my daughter and Granddaughters brought to my life were immeasurable. I will never get that back so enjoy your time with your cutie pie and live one day at a time. I am married 45 years and not happily. Just hanging in there. I look forward to your videos. Im hoping they wil inspire me to get me back in the groove of doing life again. I did all the spackling painting cleaning and maintaining of our home. I put my heart and soul into it. Last 5 years i feel i have given up. I never felt this way before. Had a horrible childhood and was on my own 6 months before i graduated high school. Working in a sewing factory after school and taking public busses everywhere i needed to go. I always had a smile on my face and pushed through with a positive mindset. I dont like this version of me I feel like a stranger to myself. The hands on mom and Nana has lost her way. I hope i can get her back. Please keep taking us on your journey. It helps us to see us woman after 60 are not alone with all the life changes that take place in our lives. I wasn't prepared for this lonely phase of my life. Keep being you Margaret ❤

I'm turning 69 next month. The women in our family don't have long lives and I do hope I'm around at 80. I love my church and friends and enjoy quilting and husband. I quit making 5 year goals when I retired so if I'm still around in 10 years so be it.

I turned 54 in March. Most days I feel like 94. Actually, I take that back. I have an aunt who turns 94 in September and she gets around better than I do! I'm somewhat disabled. I won't go through the laundry list of what's wrong with me or my family history of illnesses but most mornings I hate getting out of bed because of the pain. Part of it is my own fault of course. I've never taken the best care of myself. I try to do a little better everyday. I would encourage you to stay active for as long as possible. Pretty soon you'll be chasing your precious little granddaughter around. Take care. Blessings to you and yours.

I'm 70 and my husband I did a lot of travel in a large (bus) motorhome from the year we retired 2017 until 2021 when the pandemic pretty much stopped us in our tracks. Our home base was Ontario and we decided to buy a mobile home on Vancouver Island, where we had travelled back and forth to, to enjoy the mild winters for 3 years. Last year, I traded in my little convertable Fiat (damn near killed me to do that) for a 2020 NV200 Cargo Van. My plan going forward is to kit it out as a travel vehicle and make yearly trips to Edmonton and alternately Ontario to visit 2 of my kids. I'm quite excited and looking forward to the adventures.

I’m 73. I imagine in the future I will have limited energy. So right now I am gathering things I do not want or need in a Walmart bag each day. I have gathered quite a bit but it is just the beginning. I would like to read and sew simple things. Spend time with my daughter and take her out to lunch.😊

I will be 72 in June. I relate to what you said about 10 years in the future. I am content in my life now too! I retired from public school teaching in June of 2022( 33 year career). I am living back in the same house that I lived in 10 years ago. It is a rental house but as far as I am concerned, it is mine!! I take care of it like it is mine. I am very active in my church and am making new friends. I moved back here from New Mexico when I retired- hence making new friends. I have decided not to try and date any longer. What I see quite a lot of are a number of women that have been with their husbands for a long time and they do not seem happy with their circumstances ( maybe with their spouses). Anyway, I have a good life now. As much as I loved my career, I was totally burned out and ready to retire. My one child ( a son) lives about 4 hours from here. In general, the members of my church are very caring. I had total knee replacement on my right knee on January 15 and am recovering from that. Other than that, my health is very good. I am only on one medication and have “destroyed “ 50 pounds since November 15, 2023. I am on my way to “destroy” more pounds. I use the word “destroy” instead of lose because I do not want the 50 pounds to “find” me again!! I am happy for you and for what is going on in your life now. I feel very similar to the way you feel- I do not have “wants” ( especially for material things). I have everything I need/want now!! Elizabeth Goodrich, Texas

I know this contented feeling you describe. It is nice after a tumultuous life.
I'm 76. One more day would be okay. Beyond that, I'm not interested. I don't make plans.
I'm just thrilled I don't have to talk or listen to people talking. If it doesn't have an OFF switch it's not coming into my house.
Life is good at the moment, the best. I'm at my happiest.

My husband doesn’t like going out with me ( but he does) as he says I have a flashing sign on my forehead that says “Ask me”. For some reason unbeknownst why but people come and ask me questions and expect me to know the answer. Then he looks at me and asks me “How the hell didi you know that?” I don’t know but maybe age makes you more aware or experience in a lot of different categories gives you that knowledge. No matter how many times I move my sewing machine is right beside me in my car. We have a RUOK day and I phoned a friend and it entailed a 5 hour drive to check she was OK. Worth every mile worth every minute just to talk to her face to face. Would do it again in a heartbeat. She is in a happy place now and has a happy life.

No you absolutely did not waste our time. I'm sorry for the person who told you she missed the adventures. Part of the enjoyment I think most of feel is that you share your life with us and it's like talking to a friend and being in her home but we have you on our time when we are able to sit and relax. I too am 70 and there is nothing I truly care to do except share the lives of my grandchildren and be with them as they grow up. I have been widowed since I was 34. Never remarried. And became grandma at 48. My favorite role in life and I've never loved more. My kids tease me how I am not the same woman that raised them. But these grandchildren and I know you'll agree are thee greatest joy ever right 😊. You are not here to entertain us, so please don't stop just because you think these days and this time in your life are not interesting. You enjoy this contentment. I think being retired is fabulous. My oldest granddaughter is my best friend she is 23. She always tells me when I stick my nose in her business she will say "grandma you do you". In a sweet loving way she tells me. So Margaret you do you and thanks for sharing with us❤

Hi Margaret….I’m 52 and I’m already ready to check out…all my loved one have passed except 3 sisters, 2 out of town and one is a workaholic, none of them wishes to get together. Life has turned out harder to live than to die…no I’m not suicidal, I’m a Christian and won’t go that route. I have autoimmune disease that causes me much pain, I’m in a relationship that doesn’t bring me a bit of joy. I can’t seem to find a lace cuz I’m on a fixed income….I only have a counselor through my insurance and she can’t even seem to help me. To top that all off my dr is treating me awful because I terminated a nurse at the hospital cuz she yelled at me and comparing her auto immune disease with mine, I told her that wasn’t true professional and I told her I did not want to see her again, after that, they all started treating me bad. I am stuck in so many ways. I just can’t seem way out. I pray, but I’m going to have to tell you right now I’m feeling nothing is working at this point and it’s been this way for a while. My autoimmune disease causes rashes on my face and each time I get them they become really nasty and my doctor hasn’t even seen me. He pushes me off to the nurse practitioner and they gave me a product that I was allergic to, and it messed me up even more, so I’m just really hopeless right now and helpless. I’m sorry to dump on you. I haven’t talk to anybody in a while and my social skills are a bit off, I am isolator, and I have major depression due to all this.
Go to a dermatologist for your rashes. I also have an autoimmune disease and I get rashes. Derms have names for the rashes.

I also have autoimmune issues & it is not easy to find knowledgeable & compassionate care. BUT keep searching. Research on quality internet sites like Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, etc. You’ll find specialists & support groups. You are in my thoughts & prayers 🙏🏻

I had a multi level fusion at 53; 70 now. Always have pain. Can’t stand for long. I get it. No bathroom remodels for me.
@@andreagardner2335 Yes, I hear you. I can only walk 5 to 10 minutes and my back feels broke, I had the 4-5-6 disc fused. now it's the lower back that gives me the most problems, it gets depressing because I want to do things but if I push myself to do I'm down for up to three weeks.
