My favorite KH game and only game for a time in my youth. So many of the the slog problems didn’t seem so bad. When I have nothing else to do.

I'm glad you enjoy the game, and yeah that may have been part of why I enjoyed it more when I played it when I was younger. Time was less important to me back then.

When I see this game I think of, "who am I going to share ice cream with?"

Yeaaah haha. I cant decide if i think the line is stupid or brilliant. It sounds stupid when said, but in the context of what the Ice Cream represents to Roxas it works.

Out of all the KH lines, this one kind of works.

I haven't played this game in a billion years. But I really should, so that I can really understand it on a deep level and within the wider context of the series. It might even make me loathe the story less, because despite being a slice-of-life lover, I could only see the movie version as a really bad example of the genre's core appeal.

I don't know if I made it clear enough in the video, but I still don't think the story, overall, is good, I just think they were successful with the emotional beats, especially with the context of gameplay. Emotional beats TEND to be the thing Square Writers in general are good at, so that's not surprising. It's more the logistics, lore and continuity that I feel they struggle with.
