Part of the issue for me with tangled and frozen is square wasn't allowed to alter the story. So we got basically carbon movie copies, and also i might be in the minority on this idk but i hate the attractions. Its so disruptive
I believe that specific attractions should only pop up against specific giant bosses, then they might have been relieved better. I personally never had a problem though, when they gave you the option to turn it off and give you a guaranteed form change.
Tangled was allowed to take some very minor liberties, but yeah. Frozen *definitely* suffered the most from this. Which is a shame, because there could have been a lot of fun stuff there. But yes, I think most people like attractions in concept, but they resulted in far too much stop and go during fights if you choose to go into it.
Me too.. I still think kingdom hearts is the best one.. I don’t get the love for kingdom hearts 2, I mean the first couple hours you not even playing as sora.. still a good game but it’s 3rd on my list for the numbered games
@@bodacious117 Yeah first 1 is my favourite as well, just because i think it has the best story. After that it was basically always the same Disney story as the movies. Really loved the worlds and secrets as well in the first game.
Yeah, when the plot was straight forward it was so much more effective. I just can’t get myself to care about any of these characters anymore especially in 3. I wish they would reel it back and make a new story that can stand on its own
@@bodacious117tbh the thing I didn't like about 1 was the gameplay. Wasn't as bad as chain of memories, but it was definitely the weakest gameplay across the mainline games.
It’s “you keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means” territory. All the entries feed into and develop the Dark Seeker Saga, introducing plot elements, characters and relationships that pay off later in the game and subsequent games even when it’s not the next release chronologically that has pay off (the Lingering Will post-game super boss in 2FM whose origin is shown in Birth by Sleep for example, or re:coded’s datascape being very important for Union X). Even the rhythm game sets up plot points and direction for future games, albeit entirely as post-final boss cutscenes.
Actually, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary, spin-off (when used as a noun, like in this case) is the EXACT word he should be using. "Something that is imitative or derivative of an earlier work, product or establishment" The non-numbered titles are not sequels, as they take place in various points in the overall timeline, they do have significant relevance to the overarching main plotline of the Dark Seekers story, so they are NOT side-games, and they are certainly derivative, because their more contained narratives are all derived from/related to the characters and events in the numbered "mainline" titles. Just saying.
@@jedirayden what about dream drop distance, it literally begins on the ending of kh2 and it finishes with the begining of Kh3, chain of memories doing the same between kh1 and kh2, or melody of memories now begining right after the ending of Kh3, they are literal sequels, I can give it to you with BBS, union cross and 358/2 days for example, as they do take place in different points in the timeline (358/2 days is a little weirder though as it happens in tandem with kh1, chain of memories and ends in the begining of the kh2 prologue), specially BBS and union cross, but BBS would be more of a prequel than a spin-off in the strict sense I think. But other than union cross and the rest of the mobile games I don't think any other really has a more contained narrative, as they expand on and explain the events that already happened on that point in the series or that were about to happen right after their release, without them you wouldn't be a little lost about tiny details, you wouldn't understand anything that was happening after in the story. As far as I can think of and have seen, the only things that define a numbered title as such is the fact that sora is the main focus and only playable protagonist, a form of xehanort is the main villain and the most defining one, the kingdom hearts is summoned. I know in BBS xehanort kinda does it too (although it just appeared because he forged the defective χ-blade), but being a prequel it kinda makes sense, it works as a sort of Kingdom Hearts 0 in the timeline of the whole plot.
The final Fantasy side of the franchise was never, and has never been a huge focus in comparison to Disney though. Nomura himself even stated this. At most they are glorified cameos. The FF Easter eggs that were in kh3 were literally no different LOL
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE old people just want their cloud and leon to gush over because their capabilities of understanding that KH outgrew finaly fantasy 10 years ago and is it's own thing now goes near 0
@DommeUG1 also some fans are a bigger fan of Final Fantasy or the old ones then Disney and everyone was quite hyped to see them Appear in Kindom Hearts 1
Whoaaa hold on! You’ve played through the Roxas prologue in KH2 and you think the Olympus sequence in KH3 is slow?? They get right into the action! That’s what I appreciated most about it. You get a lot of mechanics right away.
I think that was actually the best intro in the whole series. No Destiny Islands gathering materials. No 3 hour intro doing minigames. They just got right to a Disney World too, didn't even bother with the hub world yet.
They added mechanics to lessens the attractions and more difficulty in the free post launch updates. One of which is Critical Mode. This was even before the harder content that RE:Mind added.
I think KH4 would benefit greatly with a "Active Time Lore" feature like what FF16 had. It could help with the accessibility for newcomers trying to understand the story.
I think that the normal difficulty of KH3 is probably really good for kids, game reviewers, and other casuals, but critical is the difficulty level that gamers are really going to be want to be playing as. Hope you really get a chance to dig your teeth into the combat system in the Remind DLC!
im surprised hes playing yrs later not on critical with the reaction command settings off. these are updates that came out in the first yr of release if i remember correctly.
We needed those final fantasy moments and Maleficent!! The first game was so good because there was such a vibe having the Disney villains all working together.
I was one of those mad headed players that jumped in while i didn't know much of the story (i only dabbled in the series with the first one a bit and didn't play any of the others) it was really enjoyable for me, i loved seeing worlds like Monster's Inc, loved that growing up and Toy Story, i loved that too and i honestly had a blast with the game
I had high expectations for it and they didn’t meet them, but I liked KH3 a lot more than when I played it the first couple of times. I’m not a fan of the way they told the story. But it was good.
I remember being sick out of my mind and telling my mom I couldn't miss the midnight release for anything. Being the best mom as she is, she took me to get that game 🙏 it was the best few days home from school after that. Looking back on it I definitely shouldnt have went to a midnight release but hey I was 16 or something around then and super excited for some more kingdom hearts 💖 I also had high expectations that I didn't feel were met but toy story will always be a highlight of this game for me.
I would really love a video of a second playthrough of FFX. I just rewatched your older video, and I feel like if you replay it with some key things in mind that you'll learn that it's a masterpiece. The world of Spira helped me escape my rather traumatic childhood. I'm 30, and It still does that for me in difficult times. The music makes me weep. The characters, their personalities, the way they all interact with each other, it's perfection embodied into a 22 year old video game.
I remember the first time I looked at the cover. I was 7 yo, my older brother brought it home and he let me look at the case before popping it in. I was enamored and entranced by Tidus’ sword, the world, and the beach he was standing in. I still get that same feeling 23 years later when I listen to the ost or restart the game for the umpteenth time. Truly a masterpiece.
Yuna's speech at the end still hits me so hard every single time, even though I've played it multiple times since it came out on PS2. It's definitely one of my top video game moments to date
@retrorebound8887 That's incredible!! Just let the score take you in and feel the emotion of the team on their journey. Do all ofbthe optional content and immerse yourself into the world and give us a 50 minute long video like the final fantasy 12 video. You're the best dude on RUclips, I don't doubt it for a second. You bring a lot of good memories back to the gaming community.
I think I was too harsh to this game when it first come out... Now I experienced many other AAA games and they rarely reach the level of details and worldbuild of Kingdom hearts 3. When I was playing it 3 years ago I was expecting a great conclusion to the 20 years journey but I was let down. Now that Kingdom heart 4 is in development I becomes more accepting with Kingdom hearts 3 and excitedly waiting again.
I just finished this game. I am 100% convinced that much of the sour public opinion on this game is due to two factors. One is nostalgia. The other is overhype.
To me, KH2FM Critical Mode is my favorite action RPG. For KH3, I am happy to know that someone else deems the combat as "Musuo" style because in proud mode, I felt like I steam-rolled through all the enemies. I am super curious on how you think of the re-mind gameplay because I enjoyed those boss fights more heavily and the Osaka team did fine-tune the gameplay.
Apparently, people killed KH2 "too easy" until it got patched in final mix with an addition of critical mode. Combat wise though, KH2 had the A team while KH3 had the B team, so it was a bit worse. I think remind made the combat INFINTELY better and like form changes more than drive forms.
@@thewiseyounglad2699 In 2FM Critical Mode is easier to play than Proud Mode, though. It's just more punishing. Overall I think KH3 is the better game between the two, even without the DLC combo modifiers and keyblades. Its combat system has a comparable amount of depth and it's a far better RPG. 2FM had an alright combat system, but the enemy design was consistently bad and the RPG elements were completely unfinished and poorly implemented (I sure love getting no rewards out of the Hades Paradox Cup, or the synthesis system being completely worthless outside of debatably four specific endgame items), so much so that on Critical Mode the developers basically said "Fuck it" and removed the RPG elements from the core experience, making the gameplay completely action oriented, which is bad design for an Action RPG. I would never put any Kingdom Hearts game on the same level of quality as genuine masterpieces of the Action RPG genre like Dark Souls and especially vanilla Dark Souls 2, but if I had to choose one Kingdom Hearts game out of all of them, I would choose Kingdom Hearts 3. It has its own fair share of issues, but it strikes the balance between action and RPG far better than all of the other games in the series.
Is the gameplay at least fun compared to other entries? I bought the 2.8 pc collection and 3 last month and I hope it’s not gonna be a huge disappointment. I’ve always know the story and acting in kh is ass, but I don’t mind it cause the gameplay is fun. So far I love 2.8’s gameplay
@juanaragon6112 get the KH3 ReMind. Apparently they added everything they left out which is normal for this game lol. I'm excited to play 3. I been looking at the combat and it looks fun. And they added all data fights and the secret boss fight and cutscenes
KH3 remind is so good, the boss rush is the best one in a game ever imo. The yozora fight is a masterclass of boss design. But KH3 launch experience was a much different game. The patches helped a lot with the new abilities and the addition of critical mode. Also at the time, the secret ending and the epilouge were a patch. You just had to be there at the launch of KH3, fans had waited since KH2 for KH3. KH3 also leaked a month and a half early so many people had to abandon social media. It was a wild time, I never had felt a launch experience like KH3 for any other game.
I preordered it at GameStop so that I could play it at 9pm and not 12am. That place was packed, when mostly I went into GameStop and it was a ghost town. Everyone was really excited to get it. I haven't seen a game launch as exciting since...
I had too much hype and was dissapointed with some parts. The Re Mind DLC was really good at fixing some of my complaints. Over time I have grown to forgive the game and just be happy they somehow didn't give up on making a third game after writing so many characters into the story.
I loved the first 2 games, and was so hyped for when this finally arrived at my door. But once I noticed that special attacks were based on Disney Rides, there was no longer any Final Fantasy characters, and then a no stakes storyline altogether, I was left very, very sad.
@@zeroskaterz92 Sure, I'll give that to you . I didn't own a DS or PSP, but I did watch lots of story recaps leading up to it. I just loved the reaction commands in 2, the various forms were fun and strategic to the battles. And the optional Sephiroth fight was always my highlight. The Disney licensing seems to have taken a forced heavy handed role in the KH3 development
@@zeroskaterz92 there's a gap in time where you think KH was amazing, then you turn into a jaded 16 year old who only wants to play COD and Skyrim, that's when those games came out in my lifetime. When 3 was announced I was at an age where I was nostalgic and excited and just wanted to play that and not the handheld versions, hence the RUclips recaps
Wow. Wasn’t expecting this video until KH4 was closer to release tbh. Remind DLC (specifically Limit Cut and Secret Episode) was pretty awesome. Still play it every now and then.
All in all, I enjoyed Kingdom Hearts 3 but man did it have some inexcusable omissions. I'm also tired of scrapping power systems that worked so freaking well. Bring back the forms, wisdom, valor, limit from the remix, master, final and anti form. The first time I activated anti form I flipped my shit. Being able to dual wield as Sora was fucking awesome.
agreed, though KH3 killed my interest and returning to the series, love the old games still but after DDD and a Fragmentary Passage and the direction the series was going ending with KH3 i just can't do it anymore, i would love them to return to form but i don't see it happening
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE to each their own, i live drive forms better cause the different styles, the keyblade transformations are just so big and intense
I played the series by release. The not numbered titles are not spinoffs, they are direct continuations to the overarching story. Yes they aren’t direct continuations to the timeline, but they are directly connecting the information given from one to the next. If you follow that (which is how they were created I’m guessing), then the narrative is relatively easy to follow. Go into it without other’s forcing their expectations on you and you’ll have a blast with the story. If you pay attention to the story, it’s overall a very simple story. Sure it can’t be summed up in a couple sentences but it is by no means that convoluted as so many people claim. The only “spinoff” KH title (which still isn’t a spinoff as it is relevant in 3 in a major way) is the one on mobile that is actually a set-up for KH4. Dark Seeker saga titles have no spinoff titles. Glad you enjoyed the games Matty! I know KH3 didn’t live up to the hype but it couldn’t possibly after over a decade worth of waiting. Hope you keep enjoying KH as it goes off into it’s next saga!
The delivery is very convoluted. The story itself is quite simple. If you pay attention everything is explained without any issues. But I see a lot of people who don't and complaining that it doesn't make any sense. I started watching a let's pay called "story mode" and the dude was skipping cutscenes left and right. No wonder they can't understand anything.
Lowkey the only things that I think are genuinely convoluted in the series so far are the way it handles time travel and the way KH3 ReMind in particular handles the Power of Waking (the ReMind Episode made my head spin and certain parts of it honestly added more questions than it answered, and of course it also retconned some of the main story events, like the battle with Saix, so that didn't help). I haven't had issues following along with anything else. The people who think the story of the Dark Seeker Saga is "too complicated" have low media literacy. These games are made for kids.
I honestly love this game, but man when you need to watch a 45 minute video to understand everything that is happening in 3, it’s a little out of hand. Thanks for the great content Matty God bless!!
KH2 is still the peak. KH3 had so much hype behind it, and it ended up really disappointing me. The main plot shoved aside for 90% of the game until the very end left a very sour taste in my mouth
As someone who has kept up with every single real ease in order, KH3 is really rewarding. My only gripe with it is that it spends more time on set up than wrapping up the current saga but i am satisfied with the product we got, even before Remind. I will admit that the series itself is awful at catching newcomers on. If you’re new, look up the release order, and experience it that way, even if its in video form. Even the HD remixes puts 358/2 Days before KH2 which is inaccurate lol
Days being before 2 is inaccurate, but I find it doesn't really hurt the experience. Putting Days before 2 wasn't an accident, so Nomura must really feel like people should watch it first.
I think Nomura wrapped up everything in the Xehanort Saga, just not as beautifully as we hoped. He was probably pushing the next saga since it seems like he thought this one out a bit more.
Even then, people should just play 358 and ReCoded in an emulator. Watching the cutscene movies instead of playing them will completely ruin your experience with their stories, especially for the former. Every single person I've seen who watched the cutscene movie for 358 did not care about anything that was happening in the story, and were more likely to laugh at it.
I mean, Critical Mode isn't that difficult either. It's harder in terms of numbers, yeah, but what made KH3 so easy was it had virtually no mechanical-depth. Too many i-frames, most enemy attacks barely needing effort (if any) to avoid, timing to do most anything meaningful being too forgiving, etc etc.
As someone who was there since 2002-2004 I will say upon initial release I was rather disappointed. I remember finishing the game next to my gf at time and she saw the look on my face as the credits rolled and i told her I just felt nothing after beating that game that I had been waiting for for yearrrrrrs. It just felt like so much was left on table and the gameplay at time didn’t wow me how I thought. The DlC came out and it helped the overall experience and I think it’s the best thing to happen for that game but I can’t come back to play this one fondly like I did the others. I feel like even now there needed to be more. Hopefully we’ll get that w/ kh4 w/ new setting and being in “reality” but I don’t think I will have that same glow during the wait.
For me, Kingdom Hearts 3 was the near-pinnacle of the franchise. I absolutely loved it, and played through its entirety twice so far. It lived up to and, in some ways, passed my expectations.) If it weren't for my backlog that I have, and am making my way through, I'd have played it a few more times already. Definitely going to play through it again (the whole series, actually) after the *Kingdom Hearts 4* release date announcement. (I replay the entire series before every new entry comes out. Kingdom Hearts is one of my most favorite franchises of all time.)
If people think KH is complicated I'd hate to hear their reaction to something like guilty gear. I do think you playing the game on proud mode and calling for a little more difficulty is unfair. Especially when you're clearly not playing with the pro-codes which allow you to make your own difficulty. I also find this review completely unfair to 3 because your reviews for 1 and 2 are based on the final mix version. Re:Mind is the final mix version that's included in most major releases of the game now. It'd be like reviewing the original Japanese versions of 1 and 2 and ignoring the content added in the international+final mix release.
Something I’ve learned to consider when comes to game development is the internal changing of hands from one dev to another. Cuz the team behind KH3 were the team that developed BBS and DDD (the Osaka Team btw), while KH2’s team were scattered about working on other games. Doesn’t give the base of 3 a pass for not feeling as tight, just provides context for those who weren’t watching the game’s development closely. I’m personally hopeful for KH4, because Re:Mind with its new combo modifiers and bosses, showed how the Osaka Team is improving and responding to feedback. Not an ideal situation overall, but I’ll take willingness to improve over stubbornly staying the course any day. Also it’s unfortunate that you’re not interested in 3’s Critical mode, as it adds an ability that turns off Attraction Flow (among others). If you do decide to give it a try, the challenge declines as you level, so most of the difficulty will spike early on but diminish the further you progress.
The problem i have with this series is that i love the numbered entries however the spin offs (or not spinoffs) are completely different styles of games that i dont enjoy playing, so im punished as a fan because i miss a lot of the crazy plot simply because i dont want to drag myself through games i dont like to understand the ones that i do. I still enjoyed KH3, however the plot was all over the place for me. I hope they do a soft reboot and keep numbered entries and side game plots seperate.
I loved the first few hours of KH3. Olympus and the remodeled Twilight Town were FANTASTIC. And getting a feel for the new features was so much fun. Toy Story was a joy ride too but everything after just fell completely flat. Story was average, I had a little more mileage on the gameplay than others but still inferior to previous titles
Monsters Inc, Big Hero 6, and Toy Story were THE best Disney worlds in regards to fusion of different properties and overall story. Frozen, Tangled, and Pirates on the other hand had to be the WORST in the series. Olympus was middle of the road, but made a good first Disney world. Besides story though, ALL of the Disney worlds were filled to the brim with things to see, do, and explore compared to other games. It has the highest highs and the lowest lows.
@@thewiseyounglad2699 I think Pirates was better than Big Hero 6. I honestly don't remember anything about it other than flying Baymax. It was awkward though that Jack Sparrow just exits the story and somehow we are teleported to the finale of At Worlds End for no reason. If you had never seen the film you would be so confused lmao.
@kamenogi4494 Now I wouldn't say GOD TIER MASTERPIECES!!! But they were good. It's just kinda weird when people compare them to Base KH3 instead of it with remind(which is the final mix equivalent) that fixes a lot of issues fans have.
Why do people still act that there was nothing between the release of KH2 and the release of KH3? We got gams that continued the story from where KH2 left off, they're NOT spin-offs, they're all mainline entries, they just aren't numbered beacuse of the style of game they are. Sure, the wait for a numbered entry was pretty long but it's not like people had to wait 13 for a continuation.
narrative is easy to understand if you played them in release order, if you didn't do that intially then well your likely gonna be stuck in the confused camp
What ruined it for me about KH3 was what they cut out of the game. One thing that sealed the deal for me was this one cutscene in Hercules world where Xigbar is talking to someone and legit, it just randomly cuts out in the middle of the scene. The dialog and music just cuts out, not even fades out. I remember I got the deluxe edition of this game at launch and thought that was a bug. I found out later that it was intentional and meant to be that way. And there are other scenes that just get cut in the middle just to be completed in a DLC.
He was talking to the Master of Masters, it was setting up a connection between plot points from Kingdom Hearts X and Kingdom Hearts 4, it's revealed in the very last cutscene of the game that Xigbar is Luxu and the black box Maleficent was looking for was the Master of Masters' box. We still don't know why she was looking for it or what's in it. It had very little to do with the Xehanort saga they were currently trying to wrap up so you can say it was more of a teaser for the next saga with the new main antagonist.
yeah alot of stuff like that in KH3 through me off, i might be the only person who thought the ending was terrible, no offense to anyone, just the way everything let up to multiple cutscenes and then Sora losing in a cutscene and not even really winning the fight and all that just left a bad taste in my mouth
Rented KH1 with my cousin from Blockbuster when it first released. Fell in love. Purchased a $500 PS3 back when those first released just so I could play KH2. Blew me away. Waited a decade for the perfected trifecta of a game series to release it's 3rd crowning jewel, and well.... pissed me off. lol. Way over hyped for what it was. The worlds and graphics were cool sure yeah, but story-wise they fumbled and made it too weird and complex. My childhood favorite memories end with KH2. Good review.
Man KH3 is my favorite in this franchise. I love the massive worlds(toy story is my favorite), the awesome combat, the gummy ship, the key-blade war, and the cooking mini game(I always make Ratatouille 😂). I give this game a 9/10.
I miss the proper Disney villain boss fights, it helped me better immerse myself in the worlds. I need to play reMind but traded in my ps4 with my completed save data and thinking of having to beat all these boss fights again feels like it’s not worth my time
I started the kh games in 2005 when I was 12 years old. I was 25 when kh3 came out. I’m happy I played kh3 and finished the arc I started that honestly impacted my life, especially in the younger days. Was it the greatest game I ever played? Nah. Not even close. No kh game will ever impact me the way kh2 did but I’m happy I got a happy ending I wanted for Roxas and Axel as their story was always my favorite. I also wonder if I didn’t enjoy kh3 as much bc I am older now and the child like wonder for the world of kh isn’t quite there the way it used to be but I just replayed all the kh games this year and kh2 is still so freaking good and makes me feel a type of way lol I’ll play kh4 someday I’m sure but I really just don’t think any future game will be as good as 2. Biggest complaint tho, where tf were the final fantasy characters!!!! Bring them back Nomura!!
If you didn’t think the final fantasy characters were in the game you clearly didn’t play the remind dlc, which is where they appear. And final fantasy has never been the reason most people like or care about kingdom hearts, I love final fantasy and I did not ever play kingdom hearts for that reason.
Nomura said that the FF characters weren't needed in KH3 specifically because he had so many other character stories to wrap up. Might see them more in future entries.
Story was too childish and felt way too "Disney" instead of "FF with Disney characters" which is what most of us loved about 1/2. Gameplay was super fun and the story was still good(its KH), but they toned down the seriousness and grim feel that the others had sometimes. They def realized their mistake and KH4 looks to be the opposite of 3 in terms of story. All they have to do is basically make KH2 with 3s combat and its a 10/10.
As someone who has never gotten into KH, and has played pretty much all of them in the last 6 months, I think 3 might be the best one. Granted, I'm plaing on Critical, and I have switched the attraction for form changes, and even still I wish the game was a harder (I'm on the Caribbean level, and the harderst part was the beginning right at the Toy box because I just didn't have any health). But all in all, Ithink this one has had the best Disney worlds and overall plot pacing (This might be the biggest hot take here). In general I think disney worlds in every game feel like filler between the plot, and in general this one also does, but they made most of them at the very least interesting to play (except Frozen, got I hate that world). Oh, and gameplay-wise I think form changes are the most genius Idea the series has ever had ever since shotlocks
The Disney worlds in 3 are some of the most significant in the series. And the only games where I can get the filler argument are chain of Memories, KH2,and Union cross, but the rest of the games use the Disney worlds well
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICEYeah KH2 had a LOT more filler within the worlds. Honestly I think some of the second visits were a bit unnecessary. However each game did give a good reason for a visit. KH1: had to close the keyholes. KH2: Looking for the King & Riku. Plus stopping the 13 & maleficent. KH3: Sora has to train himself for the final battle, get the power of waking, & of course stop Organization 13. So in conclusion I don’t know why some people got so mad at KH3.
I just got the DLC and having a pretty fun time. Don’t think I’ll be able to compete the data battles though. So I started a NG+ on critical and turned on some easy codes. Mostly the ones that recharge things like magic and the focus gauge. It really feels like a more balanced challenge now.
I just think overall the game is disappointing. Before they added different combat animations Sora had really boring combat/combos. Post launch support wasn’t that good either and they didn’t add any extra cool key blades besides two that should’ve already been in the game to begin with. The final world isn’t explorable like the others going through waves of hard enemies to get to the final boss. The worlds do not have enough difference from their movie counterparts making them extremely boring. No original worlds besides traverse town and the very last one and it’s not even explorable!!! They bring back the colosseum but no tournaments? It really sucks man I was so excited and it has so much missed potential. They also dumbed down the combat too taking out reaction commands, and the game is extremely easy too. It was also a missed opportunity where in 0.2 with Aqua you could actually customize her some and her clothing. Why was that not in kingdom hearts 3? It would’ve been awesome to be able to change the main casts look. They could’ve leaned more into the rpg elements too and added more like certain equipment pieces giving you different moves for combat and stuff like that.
It is too easy, and the pacing is flat out bad IMO, but I still really really have a soft spot for 3. Graphically it’s beautiful, I love the worlds (Toy Story and Tangled are my favorites) and it has enough zany and heartfelt moments for longtime fans. The endgame reunions are tearjerkers and make me so happy after being with this series since it started. Overall I think 2 is the better game, but 3 is great in its own way.
A lot of people said KH2 was too easy until it was patched in the final mix and got critical mode, and I think KH3 is the same until remind came out. People also said KH2 had slow pacing, while I'm seeing that KH3 pacing is too fast. I think part 3 gets better with time like part 2 did.
This review really brought me back to liking KH3, all the negativity that it didn't entirely live up to the hype made me hate it but remembering when I played it I loved the game in a casual angle, it just disappointed me in certain aspects where previous games did better, particularly endgame content before dlc.
It's sad that it took an entire console generation just to get a legit sequel to kingdom hearts 2 but got an ass ton of spin offs instead and not having any ff characters in 3 was an attrocity
Really wish people would stop saying there are no ff characters when they literally exist at the end of the game. And also I don’t know anyone that ever cared about kingdom hearts because of just the final fantasy cameos. They seemed out of place and out of character from their original final fantasy versions.
Ngl, it honestly took me nearly two years to get around to playing KH3. I wanted to play the whole series from the very beginning, but I also didn't want to end up getting fatigue from playing the series back to back to back. So i also played other games in between each title to spread it out a bit. Bare in mind that I got the game at launch, and it still took me a while to eventually get to the end of the Dark Seeker saga
I bought the entire collection and am absolutely refusing to play chain of memories and dream drop distance they both have agitating mechanics I don't feel like dealing with I would honestly just suggest looking at a cutscene movie on RUclips for the games you don't want to play to keep up with the story.
@dannytino I will definitely do that next time with Chain of Memories as that was absolute hell for me, and I'll never play that game again. I don't mind the mechanics for DDD, and I did somewhat enjoy its story
@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu I'll have to go back and redo DDD because it hasn't been fresh in my mind for over a year now, and I can't give my honest to God thoughts. If I just say something for the sake of it, it will just sound insincere and I'd rather be honest about it if you know what I mean
I feel like tetsuya nomura just added too much to the Kingdom hearts series just over complicating the storyline with time traveling,a digital world, enemy types...i just like the simplicity of the heartless and the fight against darkness.
As a long time KH fan (got into it with KH2 and have gone through all of the collections since) and KH3 is probably my third favorite game (1st being KH2 and 2nd being BBS). I really loved the combat, it felt like a culmination of so many systems from previous games and gave you so many fun options to just cool shit happen like Keyblade transformations, strengthened spells, team up attacks, and the Attractions. And most of the worlds are bangers. While it's disappointing that quite a few worlds are just the movie, a lot of worlds gave unique narratives like Toy Box, Monsters Inc, and San Fransokyo. But my favorite part of these worlds are just how large and lived in they all are, it's no longer just a series of boxed off rooms connected together, now you have Black Flag as a single world. It was just so much fun to go through these worlds (except Frozen's world, that was a miserable experience the whole way through). But, as fun as KH3 IS, it's far from perfect when it comes to pacing and especially narrative. I really wish they could incorporated more of the main storyline throughout the Disney worlds (like KH2 did with the attack on Hollow Bastion). Instead we get Sora and co. messing around in a Disney World, a cut scene happens teasing the plot, Sora needs to gain the power of waking, and off to a new Disney World. Rinse repeat for 8 WORLDS. Then the plot finally happens for two more worlds and credits. In this way, base KH3 is very unsatisfying when it comes to it's end game and finale. All these storylines and characters that have been built up for over a decade and it kind of ends with a confusing wet fart. Though I don't know how much of that comes down to my lack of knowledge when it comes to the mobile games side of the narrative. But that said, the Re:MIND DLC fixes most of my issues from the base game climax (with my biggest criticism being that you are basically playing the climax 3-4 times thanks to all of the time shenanigans) and I hope that whenever the KH3 remaster comes out that the Re:MIND ending will be incorporated into the base finale. That said, I can't really comment on the other parts of the DLC as the Organization XIII boss fights kicked my poor Lv 50 ass so I didn't get to experience it outside of watching the cutscenes on RUclips. In summation, KH3 is a flawed but super fun game to play and explore, with a lot of spectacle to keep you glued to the screen. Kingdom Hearts 3 is a game that should be every self respecting KH fan. But that's just my long winded take.
Man,I wish this franchise was easy to get into. The premise of running around the worlds sounds so cool and should be a slam dunk instead of incredibly niche.
Kh2 is my favorite kingdom hearts game but kingdom hearts 3 has become one of my favs now I love the characters, boss fights, Disney ride attractions and keyblade combat, didn't really mind that there wasn't any ff characters involved cause remind dlc really explained some story parts for me also the mini games and the ending really has me on edge to what happens next in kh4 enjoyed the game so far
Ever since the original kingdom hearts came out and I seen the special ending I've been making theories of where the game would go. I actually used to love that...talk wit my friends about this in depth story and reading fan theories was exciting. The way 3 dropped the ball with the story it zapped all the love I had for the series away. When 4 come out I will cop but I've already been disappointed wit the story so I'm not really invested anymore. For as long as I've been waiting for all these answers to all these questions I had for almost 20 years it was possibly the greatest let down in gaming to me personally. I realized I don't even game as much because of it.thats a LONG time to wait for a conclusion only to be given some bs story in the last 2 hours of the game. Christ I even played union x for the full 5 years it was out... union x had a better conclusion than 3. That hurt my soul... Didn't expect my comment to be this long... lol
KH2 was exactly like that as well, the last 2 hours of the game explained 90% of the story. And the endgame in KH3 was the best in the entire series. I don’t know how any real KH fan could not have liked it. Especially the data battles and Yozora. And Sora and Kairi fighting Xehanort. I think you just don’t like KH anymore but that’s fine. Also, it was never supposed to be the last game. It was only supposed to Tie up all the unresolved threads at that point and start a new story, and it did that pretty much as well as it could have all things considered. And you admitting you’re gonna play 4, is you accidentally admitting you still care about the series lol. So it couldn’t have disappeared you *that* much
@Erikthedood ehhhhh 3 was nowhere in the same ball park as 2. But if you liked it that's good. Yea... there's no way I would of purchased that $30 dlc after playing 3. It wasn't worth it... just went to RUclips to see the story parts lol. Even still the story was poorly put together. I didn't accidentally admit anything... I said I'm no longer invested in the story anymore because I'm not. I'll still play the next game because maybe it will be a better game than 3. But I've definitely checked out after 3
I think every question that needed an answer was answered, and the answers were fine. Though the way they were given was a bit wonky. I'm noticing a trend in series like KH and Naruto, where the creator's are struggling with the characters they right because there are too many of them. Both authors said that they wanted to permanently kill off a few characters, but back tracked because they were too popular. Nomura might have made a better story if he didn't feel like he had to bring back a whole bunch of fan favorites and wrap up their stories. But those are just my thoughts.
@thewiseyounglad2699 I can agree with this. I remember when I used to go to back for kingdom hearts like "just because Disney characters are in the game don't confuse it for a kids game". The story was dark, characters died, the story was Intriguing. I was fully invested in the lore coming up with theories and stuff only for the final game in the xehanort saga to pretty much be me watching Disney movies that they placed sora in. Then tried to cram a kingdom hearts story in the last 2 hours. I was very disappointed. The keyblade "war" wasn't even a war. And the way they made riku and mickey seem so weak was insulting. Yea sora may have gotten raw but riku was still the truth. Not in 3 tho dude was so wack in comparison to the riku I remember. Half of the questions "answered" were in my opinion were asspulls (the whole xion thing being an example). They ended up making the game mad light hearted and the dark tone it had was lost in my opinion.
Finally someone said it. I agree. For the most part, I thought KH3 was amazing. I've been a fan since it came out when I was in like Middle School. My only major complaint was it felt like I walked through that game. I got lost more then I died. But KH was never too challenging outside of ending bosses and certain optional ones.
KH3 is a game that got better with time. I wish the difficulty was tuned better (Proud is way too easy, and critical feels way too difficult early on) BUT after Remind I have high hopes for KH4 as 3 was this studios first time making a console exclusive KH game. I just hope it doesnt take a decade for 4 to come out 😅
Nah, I honestly forget my playthrough of it. It was way too easy and the story direction they took was somehow boring and nonsensical. Playing it became a chore just to finish it by the end. I can still remember KH2 even it was twice as long but goddamn KH3 was not fun.
@@tubguinace I didnt mean exclusive in terms of brand but in terms of development as that team had only had experience making games on handhelds (PSP, 3DS) and had no real experience making a AAA game on modern hardware
Agree and Disagree with several points you made. - Lack of Disney bosses is a big issue, but there are a bit more than you mentioned, namely the 4 Titans, Marshmallow, and Dark Baymax. The lack of Zurg and Randall boss fights, particularly the latter, is a big letdown. - Lack of Final Fantasy characters didn't bother me with so much going on. We did get an Einhander boss, though. I'll take a another Square game property making a cameo over yet another fight with Sephiroth. - Both KH2 and KH3 suffer pacing issues but they are almost the opposite types of pacing issues. KH2 is over-stretched while KH3 rushes everything important to the end. A mid-game world event would've helped KH3, maybe to bring in some of other missing Keybladers. - Both KH2 and KH3 also suffer the rehash the movie plot issues, KH2 more so though. KH3 pulls it off better to me with one big visit encompassing everything together as opposed to KH2's straight movie rehash and then original plot story later. - Agreed that Winnie the Pooh is just disappointing. It feels like it was stopped abruptly for some reason. - Kairi really needs something to do in this series! Despite everything, this game comes in at a good 2nd place for me in-series, right after KH2FM.
KH3 was such a treat after the long wait, not even since 2. The title had been teased as early as 2012 with DDD, and for a while we only had the remasters to hold us over, even if they were appreciated. Like you said, it's fairly easy, but I very much appreciate that like you said, it's more a problem with the game giving you access to so many tools, even if some of them aren't as balanced. I personally would prefer a game offer me options and be easy to exploit than a game be tough but have little to offer in terms of strategy. The Final Fantasy aspect is definitely a contentious one for a lot, but I think I didn't mind it, in hindsight a lot of the plot important stuff can be easily pushed towards the original cast (which to people unfamiliar with their games, the ff might as well be original to be fair. Was this issue a problem when we got TWEWY cameos in DDD instead of the usual FF when that came out?). The FF really is at it's best to me when they really integrate it into the Disney, which is to me why the Olympus stuff tends to be the best example of it, with Cloud, Auron, and Zack all explicitly interacting with the characters around besides Sora, Donald and Goofy. And for all the FF characters' worth, KH3 was the first and only game to have a cactuar appear outside of a gummi ship easter egg and the signature victory jingle. The gummi ship itself also has a really cool bonus boss, and I appreciate that, like Julius in DDD, it's an out-there pull, being the Schwartzgeist from Einhander, a PS1 era shooter Square made. Apparently some of the staff actually worked on that game so they snuck it in 3, and I really gotta admire the creativity and uniqueness of it all. It was a pretty hot topic for a good few people, but I don't think I could ever call KH3 a bad game. Like you said, it mostly had some absurdly large expectations, but I do think the title doesn't help either. As much as it was satisfying to finally get that title out, it kind of does do a disservice to the importance of the rest of the games without numbers. It's crazy to think how much stock people are willing to put into a game having a number in the title, imagine if Castlevania fans were waiting for Castlevania 5 when there were so many titles out there like Symphony of the Night or Aria of Sorrow not using a number. Or how Crash had several games, including some that even stuck closer to its original formula (albeit with varying levels of success), but the newest just said "nah, I'm Crash 4." It's just really interesting food for thought, I guess.
KH3 was such a let down its hard to believe how bad this game was. The story was the worst ive seen in any AAA game. Sora is just like. Eh let your heart be your guiding key cuz i dont care what we do. Ya this game was bad. In almost every single way.
I love Kingdom Hearts 3. To me, it's a 9 out of 10. My issue is we should have gone back to the Disney Worlds twice like in KH2; Toybox should made you explore Andy’s house, more Final Fantasy characters besides Restoration Committee, and at least two-three more Disney worlds ( and not put it in the trailer but leave it as a surprise ), and Pirates should have been the last world Sora goes to at the end instead of Quatradtum. Quatradtum should have been for KH5.
As excited as I was for Kingdom Hearts 3, there was also part of me that kind of felt like it was a bit of an obligation more than anything. Loved the first two games and really didn't dive into any of the spin offs outside of Chain of Memories on the GBA. I do think it's a very strong entry in the series. A lot of the worlds still feel claustrophobic with running through corridors but the worlds where it does open up like Toy Story or Big Hero 6 are amazing. I mean Pirates of the Caribbean is basically AC: Black Flag lite and I love it for that. That said, not sure I would continue on with the series. Not sure I care where the story goes from here and there's a limit in the type of worlds I would want to see going forward. Even Star Wars doesn't really get me excited cause I would prefer seeing Sora and co team up with something like the Rebels crew. Kind of like how Big Hero 6 is Marvel adjacent but not the MCU. Don't need to see Donald get in a argument with Han Solo. I just don't.
i'm with you there, though i've played every entry aside from Union X and melody of memories i just don't think i'll be returning to the series ever again
This was a series I always had trouble getting into. In any case, looking forward to your next videos. Gotta wonder if you’ll do Pikmin and FNaF retrospectives what with the new game and movie coming out
People really need to STOP calling the non numbered games spin offs, it confuses new comers. They are NOT spin-offs. Every single KH game is canon and important. If you do not play these you will be very confused, especially for KH3.
I highly recommend critical mode for kh2. Its balanced by giving sora more power. You can actually kill bosses faster in critical once you get the hang of it. Does 1/2 your hp the entire game. Kh3 critical was slapped on as a free dlc. Half HP and half MP. You do get some free skill abilities in critical in both 2 and 3 but it just takes so long to kill things in 3 makes whole game feel bullet spongy. And kh1 never got a critical mode. Kh2 critical mode is soooo gooood. Limit form is your friend haha
I think it’s unfair to leave out the re:mind changes to the base game. Especially years after the fact. It’s essentially the final mix version which is what I’m sure are the versions of 1 and 2 you played for this retrospective series.
I love KH3, but I really feel like they held back, especially on the Disney worlds. You mentioned the Toy Box fight that had the Zorg color palette, there's also the Arendelle boss that was clearly designed to be Elsa but for some reason was switched to Hans. I wonder how much Disney meddled with the game development, and what we could've had if it didn't.
Oh we know for a fact now Disney axed squares plan to have Elsa be bake to do anything. They wanted to make her and the others party members and have Elsa be the one who ends up being the worlds “villain” but Disney said no which is why we’re left with only the big snow monster as a party member and an overall underwhelming world. Nothing past that is confirmed but it’s reasonable to deduce they meddled and ruined squares vision in other places.
We sadly may never get to see the level of Disney bosses we did in 1 and 2 simply because Disney is as involved in the series as they are now. Back when the originals were made they were seen as nothing to western Disney and thus they really got to do what they wanted or at least didn’t have Disney policing every last thing they tried
Like we’re also pretty sure the Winnie the Pooh world was supposed to be way more then what we got like actually get to see heartless eyore and maybe have real combat there but clearly the whole thing got axed and we’re again left with a shell of a candy crush clone. So sadly a lot of the Disney side complaints square had little to no control over which is likely why 4 imo movies away from more streamline classic Disney movies and instead opt for more Star Wars and pirates of Caribbean type options where they will likely be giving more creative freedom
@@Trisnyan Wow, well that sucks. I really wish that they will indeed be given more creative freedom, Kingdom Hearts is so special also because of its approach to the Disney properties it pulled from.
Considering Matty has hinted be hates Dream Drop Distance's story, he probably dismissed and stopped paying attention to that game's story as a whole the moment he found it too ridiculous, which is a problem because KH3's story relies a lot on that game's big reveals.
KH3 was a HUGE disappointment, words can’t describe how big of a disappointment it was. We waited almost two decades for that game, all they had to do was make it at least as good as 1 or 2. It wasn’t even remotely close to either. Makes me wonder what they were actually doing all those years.
Issues are: - lack of FF characters - especially Sephirot - tournament at the colisium - limited small worlds like scala, twilight and pooh - xehanort and organisation XIII again and again
Org 13 were fine. If anything they're the best characters in the franchise bar-none. The problem is how badly KH3 butchered them. Xehenort went from a cool bad guy to a "woe is me, I'm just a misunderstood guy trying to actually do good, so please redeem me" character.
The greatest review. Everything you’ve said in this what I’ve been preaching to people that say the game was the best, or even up there in Kh List. When it’s not
It’s crazy cause I know nostalgia is there, but the nostalgia is there for the visuals and how cinematic things were the core gameplay elements really are deteriorating as time goes on and people submiss to these companies by buying full price, I do too, but man we gotta talk about it more, I’m in my 25
Utter honesty, I hated this game. After having gone through every game and soaked in as much of the story as was humanly possible, just to be presented with THIS? Absolutely despised it after the 20-ish hour mark (up until that point I was really enjoying it. Then it fell off a cliff and cratered through the earth's crust).
I hate them too. I never used them after the first couple times.
@@thewiseyounglad2699 i think that would work a bit better
Tangled was allowed to take some very minor liberties, but yeah. Frozen *definitely* suffered the most from this. Which is a shame, because there could have been a lot of fun stuff there.
But yes, I think most people like attractions in concept, but they resulted in far too much stop and go during fights if you choose to go into it.
all the attractions and things make the game way easier than KH2 used to be
The non numbered titles are NOT spin-offs. The sooner people realize that the better.
Theyre still spin offs even if canon.
Facts
Yep and if you don’t play Dream Drop or Birth you’re TOAST
@@catatonic165they aren’t spinoffs as they all incorporate the story in the main releases. They aren’t self contained.
@@catatonic165that’s like saying only the numbered avengers movies are the mainline.
Wish they would go back to KH1 type of story, love how they mixed the disney characters with the overall story
I wish they would reel it back and make a new story that can stand on its own
@@bodacious117 imo the second nailed the gameplay aspects the best, but the first had the best story
@@bodacious117tbh the thing I didn't like about 1 was the gameplay. Wasn't as bad as chain of memories, but it was definitely the weakest gameplay across the mainline games.
Calling the other games spinoffs makes me know exactly how this is gonna go lol
"Something that is imitative or derivative of an earlier work, product or establishment"
The non-numbered titles are not sequels, as they take place in various points in the overall timeline, they do have significant relevance to the overarching main plotline of the Dark Seekers story, so they are NOT side-games, and they are certainly derivative, because their more contained narratives are all derived from/related to the characters and events in the numbered "mainline" titles.
Its literally and definitively a spin off 😂😂 dont be that guy
It's not the fault of normiea if the way your preferred franchise labels their sequel games is stupid as shit
The Final Fantasy side falling by the wayside is the biggest bummer for me. That was my favorite part of the collab in the original few games.
Agreed
agreed, that's certainly one of the issues with the series in the direction it took
Greatly aint even the word

I think that the normal difficulty of KH3 is probably really good for kids, game reviewers, and other casuals, but critical is the difficulty level that gamers are really going to be want to be playing as. Hope you really get a chance to dig your teeth into the combat system in the Remind DLC!
im surprised hes playing yrs later not on critical with the reaction command settings off. these are updates that came out in the first yr of release if i remember correctly.
Yeah and those updates came out because of everyone saying the same things about attractions and the difficulty

Personally, I'm of the opinion that the main story of 2 is also really easy with maybe 2 boss fights standing out.
I heard that KH2 was extremely easy on release until final mix like KH3 with remind.
That’s on the list! Given the feedback, I think it’s only fair :)
I know if it ain’t broke don’t change it kh2 combat was already peak 3 just pushed it back
Apparently, people killed KH2 "too easy" until it got patched in final mix with an addition of critical mode.
I would say it didn't go backwards, I say sideways @@thegamewin100

I’ve always know the story and acting in kh is ass, but I don’t mind it cause the gameplay is fun.
So far I love 2.8’s gameplay
@juanaragon6112 get the KH3 ReMind. Apparently they added everything they left out which is normal for this game lol. I'm excited to play 3. I been looking at the combat and it looks fun. And they added all data fights and the secret boss fight and cutscenes
@@juanaragon6112yea kh3 is fun
@@juanaragon6112the acting story isn't bad. You're just delusional ❤
I finally played KH3 last year and loved it. I find a lot of these games age well. Like I hated FF13 when it came out but loved it now.
Playing KH3 for like the 6th time RN. Probly my fav game ever.
A masterclass in boss design 😂😂😂😂
Wowie, that in a nutshell. Is ridiculous.
This reeks of someone who clearly skips the non-numbered titles. lmao
@@joshuaortiz109 Why do you need to own a DS or PSP? They already bundle all their games for modern platforms years before they released KH3.
The Disney rides can be turned off and final fantasy was never a huge focus in the series in the first place.
And what do you mean no stakes??? 🤣
All “Kingdom Hearts 3” did for me was make me wish we could get a “Verum Rex” game with Tetsuya Nomura’s original vision for “FF13 Versus”…
Yup, you are one of the suckers that Nomura is trying to bait. Good job buddy.
World of Final Fantasy Maxima is great. It’s like Pokémon but better than a lot of them imo lol
You lost me when you said Olympus was a bad world
Not everyone likes Olympus.
Keyblade transformations are better
"I tried playing a game two years after it came out." I know it's been more than two years, but come on.
Literally every Disney world was important for the plot and built up to the final hours
never would've imagined that a single entry could make me lose interest in a series ive been a lifelong fan of, but here we are
As someone who has kept up with every single real ease in order, KH3 is really rewarding.
Still waiting for the Re:mind video Mr. Rebound
When he made this video. Critical mode was available.
Yeah. He said the game was too easy but didn’t play the hardest mode…. that seemed off
I mean, Critical Mode isn't that difficult either.
It lived up to and, in some ways, passed my expectations.)
If it weren't for my backlog that I have, and am making my way through, I'd have played it a few more times already.
Definitely going to play through it again (the whole series, actually) after the *Kingdom Hearts 4* release date announcement. (I replay the entire series before every new entry comes out. Kingdom Hearts is one of my most favorite franchises of all time.)
Dude you are awesome. First day subscribed!
Missing link the next mobile game is confirmed to be very important for KH4’s story. All the side games are important and always will be
If there was any games I didn't want to play I would just watch a let's play it was the closest you could get
I loved the first few hours of KH3.
@@apollyon9946 Story wise, I didn't like Pirates that much. Exploration wise, it's my favorite world in KH.
I bought this game at launch and completely fell off at the frozen level. I'm thinking of going back and replaying the series.
kh1 and 2 are God tier masterpieces. Especially the newer remix hd versions.
@kamenogi4494 Now I wouldn't say GOD TIER MASTERPIECES!!! But they were good. It's just kinda weird when people compare them to Base KH3 instead of it with remind(which is the final mix equivalent) that fixes a lot of issues fans have.
One of my hopes for KH 4 is that none of the Disney worlds rehash the plot of their respective films. Bring us an original plot!
Most of the plots in the Disney worlds in kh3 were original. The only ones that weren’t were tangled and frozen.
I actually enjoyed kingdom hearts 3, completed it.
Yeah the attractions were a bit too much, ended up finding myself barely using them towards the latter
It was done like that on purpose. There’s even a quick visual effect and sound effect
There was a dream drop.
@@professorbaxtercarelessdre1075 Anyone who's offended by your opinion of a videogame needs help lol
You're good.
I give this game a 9/10.
yikes
And the only games where I can get the filler argument are chain of Memories, KH2,and Union cross, but the rest of the games use the Disney worlds well
It’s by far in my opinion the most fun and data battles are easily way better than KH2’s
I still love this game regardless of how people feel about it the combat is great smooth and you have a ton of options
For me I felt slapped in the face by lack of FF. My grandma introduced me to FF, final fantasy was my Disney when I was a child
I’ve always wanted a kh where we went to square worlds instead of Disney in all honesty
KH3 was honestly fine. It’s biggest problem was handling all the xtra baggage from the previous games that went off the rails.
They must be smoking crack while coming up with the plot to these games.
Everytime people were trying to compare FF15's combat to a game, I was like "KINGDOM HEARTS, MUCH?!"
Sequel to kh2 was dream drop distance
Thoughts?
@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu I'll have to go back and redo DDD because it hasn't been fresh in my mind for over a year now, and I can't give my honest to God thoughts. If I just say something for the sake of it, it will just sound insincere and I'd rather be honest about it if you know what I mean
You skipped most of the games
“I don’t know if any product on planet Earth could ever live up to the amount of hype that was behind KH3.”
*Masahiro Sakurai has entered the chat*
KH3 is aight, but one quote I saw kind of nails how I feel about it:
We waited 14 years for a game….that felt like it was rushed.
Kingdom Hearts has never disappointed me unlike FF in recent years 👍
FF 7
@@sws212 I barley remember what happened in 2 LOL. I remember almost everything about 3.
KH3 isn't console exclusive though, it was released on both PS4 and Xbox

Kh3 for me is like a basic kh1 if it was made today it’s fine but there are other kh games that are better.
WHAT. KH3 is way more fined than kh1.
They lost me when Phil was completely silent on the Hercules level.
@@Tranquildbeats Nobody asked for your garbage opinions
@@Tranquildbeatslowkey a oversimplification of the game

Oh wow wow wow wow. Wow. Clicking on this was so easy, barely an inconvenience.
The worst disappointing fact about Kingdom Hearts 3 is a change of the motivations of xehanort'
No it’s not be quiet

Can’t wait for kh 4 even if it’s gonna take 5 years
I love KH3, but I really feel like they held back, especially on the Disney worlds.
The Disney worlds aren't flat corridors like 2
Ive played multiple times of the ganes since ps2 new kingdin hearts, and ive had no problem understanding the story , it wasnt confusing one bit
The kingdom hearts story is not difficult to understand. You just need to play the games and it’s explained very clearly
Considering Matty has hinted be hates Dream Drop Distance's story, he probably dismissed and stopped paying attention to that game's story as a whole the moment he found it too ridiculous, which is a problem because KH3's story relies a lot on that game's big reveals.
Uh, no.
It's convoluted. Stop defending sloppy writing
@@InsomniaNest It's really not, as long as you play everything and actually pay attention you shouldn't get confused
Sora teaming up with Lightning would have been CRAZY
KH3 was a HUGE disappointment, words can’t describe how big of a disappointment it was. We waited almost two decades for that game, all they had to do was make it at least as good as 1 or 2. It wasn’t even remotely close to either. Makes me wonder what they were actually doing all those years.
Issues are:
- lack of FF characters - especially Sephirot
- tournament at the colisium
- limited small worlds like scala, twilight and pooh
- xehanort and organisation XIII again and again
Those worlds were fine… and why wouldn’t organization XIII be in the game? Is literally the climax of their story lol.
Org 13 were fine. If anything they're the best characters in the franchise bar-none. The problem is how badly KH3 butchered them. Xehenort went from a cool bad guy to a "woe is me, I'm just a misunderstood guy trying to actually do good, so please redeem me" character.
As far as a zerg boss fight goes, square probably didn't get permission from Disney to use certain characters from the movies
played it last month. amazing still.
