Just wanted to pop in and finally leave a comment on your RUclips channel. I’m so proud of you for making YT partner; watching you grow here and on twitch has been one of my favorite things. I’ve said it time and time again...You’re doing great things for the KH community. In the 20 years I’ve been playing these games, your guides and walkthroughs have not only been incredibly thorough, but have also been the easiest to follow and understand. Keep going. Your friend, Shoop P.S. tell MrsGuides hello for me!
I literally spammed strike raid the entire time since it makes you invulnerable and had several mega elixirs to restore my MP. I got it on my second try. Great video!
Wow this really works, you can just ignore all mechanics. I’ve done this fight legit before but I don’t care about cheesing bosses anymore lol ty for the tip
I really had a hard time with this fight on proud mode. These tips really helped me. That command lock move is the only reason why I kept losing. Thank you!!!
Something to note about this fight. I went in blind last night with this being the last secret boss of the game, meaning i had beaten Phantom, Ice Titan, Kurt Zisa, and Sephiroth, and i was making use of the Zantetsuken ability obtained from Kurt Zisa. Whenever i managed to hit him with the Zantetsuken finisher, it staggered him the same way graviga did in this video.
Completed my first play through of any kingdom hearts game(the first one is the one I just finished of course) [my first RPG game in fact] I used your guide for the dragon before the final set of bosses & I completed the game on stream came back to the castle, saw this portal and was like “wtf this wasn’t here before.” I entered it and got killed in two hits, left & ended my stream on to chain of memories
I've seen no one mention Gravity Break or Zantetsuken, and even though both are ground combos (meaning they're slower to execute compared to air combos), they can be very effective. Gravity Break can help save your MP, and Zantetsuken is good at chopping off portions of HP at a time.
I just beat him on level 100. I summoned Tinker Bell at the beginning of the fight so I found the first two phases fairly easy. It was still a fair bit challenging for phase 3 and the shock release commands, but it was fairly manageable on beginner mode. I didn’t even attempt this fight before level 100 but I’m sure it is much harder.
Another great guide! I didn't heed all of the primo info in this video BUT I still beat him by spamming Strike Raid. I was relying on MP Gift to save me.
I can only imagine how people who’ve never played the Final Mix version would react to a boss tougher than Sephiroth. This looks like a nightmare of a gauntlet. And an amazing lead in to KHII. Shame they didn’t include Gravity magic in future games (CoM aside).
I think Sephiroth is a harder fight overall. The hardest part of this fight is Invitation to Nothingness where you're forced to play a life/death mini-game before you can actually get back to fighting. If it weren't for that gimmick this fight would be pretty easy imo.
Not gonna lie I was very over leveled at 90 when I realized this fight existed and set up goofy and Donald as support build and was able to just spam ars arcanum over and over again with thundagun and thumdaga ring equipped until he died 😅
You can also try stocked up on regular Potions and Hi-Potions to heal HP just in case for emergencies. I did get like 99 of them in stock on inventory just for me to try to grind synthesize items I need like you said was Ultima Weapon keyblade for Sora.
Speaking of Bambi, this is definitely a good choice since he can offer Sora lots of MP Balls so he can keep casting some spells like Curaga and Aeroga spells as long as you have to be careful not to get hit by Unknown.
Small thing, with high deflection keyblades you can spam counter attacks during the laser dance. Lotta goo damage but not really safe since he can still hit.
Beat him last night for the first time ever at level 88 with Oathkeeper, Megalixirs, Tinkerbell and Ars Arcanum assaults on proud mode. It was not easy but somehow less of a nightmare than the Agrabah optional boss's spin attacks.
Woohoo! This was the last journal entry I needed to get deep dive, and you made it comprehensible and fun to learn. As an aside, is there any ETA on any side games on the KHG website? I had a blast as a newcomer going through KH1.5 with the KHG writing style as my guide and I'm going to miss it going into re:com
I easily beated xemnas once i got to level 70. I used aerorga and tinker bell. I recommended using divine rose for critical hit and counterattack. I kept spamming attack him and dodge rolling on him when the orbs came. He was actually really easy once you get another strength (53+). Tinker bell does donald job better but donald stayed on healing when needed. I only use one elixer in this fight because of move when he lifts you and locks your commands which i learn kept it in the middle and press x on it to release. After that, i flip xemnas
I somehow got out of invitation to nothing at the last second with 1 hp, then proceeded to beat him. That was my first try, and I've never been able to get out of invitation to nothing consistently since.
I forget you can’t use strike raid when Tinker Bell is out but still managed to fumble my way through the battle first go. Granted I’m level 100. Had to grind it for the trophy anyway so may as well take advance of that :p
With the exception of that one move where you have to shake off a spell, I managed a much easier time with this enemy than Sephiroth. Mind you, I was level 100 on both of them.
Hi Dana! Elixirs can be hard to come by. Here's a brief list of options to find them in the Final Mix version of the game: • You'll find 13 of them in treasure chests throughout the worlds (www.khguides.com/kh/inventory/items/#restorative) • Dropped by Wyvern Heartless (0.5%) • Dropped by Battleship Heartless (1% / 4%) • Dropped by Defender Heartless (1%) • Dropped by Invisible Heartless (5%) • Dropped by Rare Truffle Heartless (100% after volleying 50 times)
You can also get megalixirs at 100 rare truffle bounces. A good way to do this is to go to neverland and to keep going where you fought captian hook and back again until you get a rare truffle, then fly and keep hitting.@@KHGuides
Ughhhh the release stun attack is such bullshit. How am I supposed to move the action buttons while running away and pushing action when it's time. It's literally the only reason I've died so many times
That's correct! Unknown was exclusive to the Final Mix version of the game. The US didn't have access to Final Mix content until 2013 when the HD Re:MIX version released. 👍

I literally spammed strike raid the entire time since it makes you invulnerable and had several mega elixirs to restore my MP. I got it on my second try. Great video!
lol same here but i was poor so i just had a bunch of ether on me and my teammates
Wow this really works, you can just ignore all mechanics. I’ve done this fight legit before but I don’t care about cheesing bosses anymore lol ty for the tip
Same
@HeatherSommers yeah exactly, I basically just do it for the last half-bar on most bosses to make sure I don't choke and lose at the last second
I know this is from a year ago but you just saved me run. Bless you
I really had a hard time with this fight on proud mode. These tips really helped me. That command lock move is the only reason why I kept losing. Thank you!!!

I like how you don't spoil who the unknown actually is for newcomers good job man that would've been annoying.
Of course! I've had to delete quite a few comments on this video for that reason! 😅
I accidently stumbled upon him while looking for the stealth soldier. I panicked and summoned tinker bell, so I ended up surviving lol
The amount of work that goes into these videos is incredible, such good work dude!
I played so much better in my challenge run after watching this guide. Thank you so much for the in-depth tutorial.
By far the best guide for this fight on YT! Just whipped his ass after raging at his "invitation to darkness" ability for two hours 🙌
I've seen no one mention Gravity Break or Zantetsuken, and even though both are ground combos (meaning they're slower to execute compared to air combos), they can be very effective. Gravity Break can help save your MP, and Zantetsuken is good at chopping off portions of HP at a time.
Thanks for this! I am going to attempt this fight again soon and I needed a reminder on how to handle him.
I just beat him on level 100. I summoned Tinker Bell at the beginning of the fight so I found the first two phases fairly easy. It was still a fair bit challenging for phase 3 and the shock release commands, but it was fairly manageable on beginner mode. I did seporoth and mystery at 92 on proud mode
You were level 100 and on beginner, and you STILL had a hard time???
Another great guide! I didn't heed all of the primo info in this video BUT I still beat him by spamming Strike Raid. I was relying on MP Gift to save me.
Looking forward to this even though I'm already on dream drop distance
Damn bruh I’m trying to get all the trophies shit is so time consuming
5 tries in and I finally beat this bastard thanks to the guide!
You can also use Gravity Break ability to have 30% percent chance to stagger on Unknown since he’s vulnerable to gravity based damage on this battle.
I can only imagine how people who’ve never played the Final Mix version would react to a boss tougher than Sephiroth. This looks like a nightmare of a gauntlet. And an amazing lead in to KHII.
Shame they didn’t include Gravity magic in future games (CoM aside).
Dude I know! The problem I have with xemnas is he doesn’t know how to stop fucking attacking
Sephiroth is still tougher tbh
I think Sephiroth is a harder fight overall. The hardest part of this fight is Invitation to Nothingness where you're forced to play a life/death mini-game before you can actually get back to fighting. If it weren't for that gimmick this fight would be pretty easy imo.
Honestly the only thing that makes this fight harder than sephiroth is the shock grab
Not gonna lie I was very over leveled at 90 when I realized this fight existed and set up goofy and Donald as support build and was able to just spam ars arcanum over and over again with thundagun and thumdaga ring equipped until he died 😅
I know its been a long time but do you remember what you personally did to level up?
@@bloppyBloop play the hades cup with exp equips over and over again. Works for me
Disappeard is my favourite KH song. Xemnas, my favourite character

Unknown out here doing strings and using "Aegis Reflector" like he's in street fighter.

thanks got him first try at lvl 83 great guide
Reach level 99, make ultima weapon, and spam x healing once or twice throughout. That’s literally all I did.
I beat it my first try all I had was Donald and Goofy be both healers and I just spammed all the attacking skills that I had and I beat it.
After Ansem boss fight is it Chain of Memories
Next step, boss guide for KH2
We've got a few more bosses and some side quests videos for KH1 next, then KH2! ☺️
@@KHGuides I even play them on Switch as Cloud versions
Even on proud mode, I just tanked through most of his attacks with aeroga and curaga. Lmao.
That command menu move is annoying. I’m glad having certain summons out keeps him from using it.
I just wanted to get Fireglow to get Mushu, but instead Unknown has appeared

Is this fight harder than Sephiroth?
I found his easier than Sephi
Yes
If you can't undo the shock release curse, yes
Beat him lvl 63 on final mix difficulty, rhis guy is definitely a challenge. Harder than Sephiroth imo
INTO THE UNKOOOOWNNNNNN
🎵 Into the Unknownnnnn 🎵
Level 100, Equip Strike Raid, MP Item usage to immediately, every Ether possible and spam the command until its over and pray Goofy stays alive
Everyone said this boss is too hard and the most difficult so I thought this boss is gonna be the hardest, turn out Sephiroth is harder for me
Aero, wait for him to vanish and come to you, block when close, ars arcanum until he goes invulnerable again. REPEAT 🗿
The mysterios guy or unknown his name Xemnas i died a lot of times
I fought him with Kingdom Key
Strike Raid has I-Frames your welcome!
I used graviga
that is xamenes
You can cheese the fifth with strike raid
Ughhhh the release stun attack is such bullshit. How am I supposed to move the action buttons while running away and pushing action when it's time. It's literally the only reason I've died so many times
same attacks
Yeah ummmm.....I just was lv 100 and really just spammed the attack button. Got him on 4th try
Xemnas!!
I think He's not available in PS2 US version.
That's correct! Unknown was exclusive to the Final Mix version of the game. The US didn't have access to Final Mix content until 2013 when the HD Re:MIX version released. 👍
2:59 am 😳
can you please make your twitch free to watch at least some vods😭
Donald healing? ehehehehe.... good one.
Thanks for the guide tho.
I wonder who might this be 🤣
