We always discuss how women want tall men but not why. As a tall woman I have struggled with my femininity and societal standards constantly reinforce the stereotype of the strong masculine man and damsel in distress. This is a bias I used to constantly struggle with that really affected my self esteem. It’s hard out here - I have lots of love for my short kings, tall queens and everything in between.
My boyfriend is only like an inch taller than me and although he hasn’t expressed his insecurity I’m sure it’s there. I don’t know why our society has to put pressure on literally every aspect of ourselves. It makes me really sad when I hear things like this. Tall woman are beautiful and just as feminine and cute as shorter women. A short guy is still as masculine and manly as a tall guy. :’(
As a tall woman I relate, and it was a struggle for me for a while but I've come to embrace and appreciate my height. I wish men of all heights could do the same, and it'd help if women didn't perpetuate the shallowness that affects us too... I've been with men my height and shorter and have loved it when they aren't insecure about it, I recommend giving short kings a chance for sure ✌️

@Enter Name the state of australia is horrendous right now. i really hate living here. I’m all for vaccines and trying to control covid, but my state hasn’t had any community transmission of covid in over 90 days and we are still subjected to harsh restrictions. these restrictions seem to only affect certain industries such as the arts/hospitality/events industries - the ones the government can’t create revenue and make money from. the sports industry remains untouched as the government makes so much money from it, with football players being allowed to travel interstate freely and thousands of people still allowed to attend football without having to wear masks. the only good independent music/events company we had in our state is going to go bankrupt in 6 months as they can’t hold concerts, nightclub nights, festivals or basically any events due to the restrictions and are still expected to pay their rent and overheads with no help from the state government. we are the only state to have a mask mandate where it is compulsory to wear them indoors everywhere despite the fact we have no covid here as everyone allowed to come in has to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. my 19 year old friend is not being allowed back into her home state as she is currently in a state with covid. she is at risk of losing her job here because she can’t get back in. meanwhile people are being allowed in from overseas as it creates money for the state government. there feels like there’s no end to this :(

My problem with this 'brothel' story is the clip where Hasan said he specifically went to a brothel in Berlin, as someone from the Netherlands I am very aware of sexwork regulation here and in Germany, I have friends that are sexworkers and the fact is that the LARGE majority of sexworkers here and especially in Germany are from Eastern European countries (and ties to Bulgarian mafia are very common). These women are trafficked, even if they say they do the work 'willingly' that's not true, they are pressured to say that because their passports are taken from them, they're often told that they're provided with legitimate jobs but when they arrive they're all taken to a house and from there every single day they are put into a van, dropped off at the brothel, picked up and brought back to that house. They are under constant surveillance and their money get's taken from them by the traffickers. It's a horrible situation and it's incredibly sneaky and underground but on the surface it all looks legal. I am not anti-sexwork, I am anti trafficking. The unfortunate truth is that local police forces here and Interpol do not have proper oversight over this rampant human trafficking. It's also closely interlocked with Eastern European truck drivers and low wage workers that are also exploited, human trafficking in Europe is a huge problem and people from the Balkans are victimized. I am all for people taking control over their own bodies and sexuality, but sexworkers in brothels (at least here in West Europe) generally do not have that choice. At least 80% of them isn't willingly having sex every single day, they often 'service' between 10-30 men a day. A lot of them end up with STI's, reproductive problems and severe PTSD. I don't mean to dampen Hasan's fun but he IS ill informed and can put in more work to understand the intricacies of this problem. If you're going to go to a sexworker in Europe try to avoid brothels or find a sexworker that is at least native to their country. If you're going to a brothel in Germany and you're not with a German sexworker but with an Eastern European sexworker you are most likely contributing to sex trafficking and the widespread abuse of young girls and women from impoverished post-soviet countries. If you want to support safe sexwork do your research, support women on platforms like OnlyFans, don't go to affordable 'escort services' or brothels, get into contact with a sexworker directly, talk to them beforehand. Cheap and quick sexwork generally means exploitation. The 'angry leftists' aren't upset that you're open about sexuality and pro-sexwork, they're upset that you're contributing to and condoning sex trafficking. Hasan, 'illegal sexwork/trafficking' is NOT seperate from legal sexwork, it's a HUGE grey area. Just because the people running that brothel in Berlin were released does not mean there is no trafficking, it just means there is not enough solid evidence. Traffickers are able to avoid persecution the majority of the time, even if they're on the radar that does not mean they will ever get shut down. Police simply do not have enough resources to really go after this type of organized crime. The problem is of such a large scale that authorities can not keep up with it (and it's not treated as a priority because of the stigma and the lack of understanding from the general public for women that end up that situation).
Thank you for dissecting this, I had no idea. It's sad how some policy changes that you hope will make change for the better, can be taken advantage of by traffickers in this way.
@@janejanejaney I don't blame Hasan for not knowing about the intricacies of this problem but I do think it's harmful to speak on it and condone it without knowing the full extent of the issue. Especially if you're taking on the role of someone educating others on the topic. And this issue presents very differently than it does in the US so it requires people from Europe that know about it to speak on it. I would personally love to see him speak to a spokesperson from a European organization that deals with trafficking victims.

It doesn’t make sense that people just assume “Oh it’s an Arabic name so we can give a random spelling to it.” No.. It’s a completely different language with a correct spelling to it. I don’t understand how people feel okay with just misspelling people’s name and attack those who correct it. And to the arab dude; first off I’m not muslim and not ashamed of being related to arabs. However my culture, religion and values are completely different than arabic nations and a lot of Turkish people would agree me on that. So don’t mind me, however I’m sick of the generalizations and Hasan refers to that during the podcast to. I would give the same reaction if my nation was being related to any other nation. I’d like to see Ethan and Hassan have a more nuanced discussion about sex work with sex workers, ex sex workers and swerfs because I’m on the fence on the issue and would love to hear all sides of the argument
I reccomend the book Revolting Prostitutes. Excellently explains why sex work should be treated as work and decriminalised but is also critical of the whole "girl boss empowerment" myth. Ultimately all forms of work include exploitation. Therefore, no form of work can ever "empower" you and sex work is no different. It is an excellent way to make money and needs to be destigmatised, but it no way does it empower you or disempower you.
Yeah I was uncomfortable the whole conversation. People who talk like this have never studied sex work globally bc then they would realize how privelaged most sex workers they are discussing really are. The vast majority of sex workers globally are exploited heavily
As a Scandinavian it's INSANE to hear Hasan say these things. Buying sex is illegal because you can't buy consent, these women don't do it because it's "fun" or "empowering" its literally their last resort, not to mention all the SA victims who fall into that cycle. Onlyfans and stuff like that is kinda safe, but when it comes to sexwork it will ALWAYS be exploitative and misogynistic
@@starkmensvag4629 yeah I feel like Hasan is being a huge hypocrite here. Sex work is almost exclusively performed by minority groups. Does that not say something about how exploitative it is, the power dynamics, and how if these people had more power in society they wouldn't do this.
@@starkmensvag4629 1. You aren't buying consent, you're buying sex from someone who consents to give it if you pay them. 2. All menial labor is exploitative 3. All sex workers aren't women 4. You literally typed up this comment about exploitation, consent, and victimhood on a computer that was assembled in a sweatshop, from parts assembled in sweatshops, made of minerals mined by slaves. So since you're willing to support human trafficking and enslavement at a far greater rate than sex work will ever have as long as its some other industry, you don't actually give a shit about trafficking, consent, or exploitation. You just have a problem with people paying or being paid for sex. Edit: Actually not even just people paying for sex. Specifically only women being paid by men. I forgot to mention there that you obviously consider sex work a gendered issue and couldn't give less of a shit about male sex workers, since you framed your comment as if they don't exist.
As a stripper, it is so riveting to hear two highly established men speaking so respectfully about sex work. Completely on point too. It’s sad but it doesn’t happen often. All the peace and love ❤️
Why i feel like the first cut was Ethan telling Zach to calm down with the soundbites. He was going wild in the beginning and now nothing for an hour 😂
I'm an escort. I despise people who tell me how I should feel about my job. "It's degrading & bad for your mental health" No, what's degrading and bad for my mental health is working 40 hours a week, getting paid wages I can't support myself on, and knowing the CEO sits in his office drinking fucking whiskey all day. I make enough money now that I have the luxury to take time off whenever I need or want it. Obviously this industry can be abusive and exploitative, but that's everything under capitalism. Listening to sex workers about how to make the industry safer for them is the only way to help people & reduce trafficking. Abolition never works & neither does shaming & degrading people who choose to be in this industry. People hate seeing women in control of their bodies and finances.
I don’t mean to be mean but bad take. Excluding minimum wage jobs most jobs /careers offer advancements over time or can be leveraged for advancements(using them on your resume) and they have benefits. Back on the topic of minimum wage jobs where you slave away who do you believe works them? Mostly desperate people. Now take a desperate person and say they only have two ways to go, minimum wage or prostitution. Which is worse? Prostitution. They won’t end up a escort like you with the benefits you have rather you can imagine how shit there life will be. Not saying sex work is bad but it should only be something people choose never something they turn to or are encouraged to do. Finally the industry is exploitive because of its nature not capitalism(plenty of reasons, mainly because it is shunned and exists outside all of modes of capitalism even when legal) the consumers of sex work are… well I don’t want to say they are bad people as a blanket term but its complicated. And also your not the employee or business your the product. You are selling yourself and that’s not a bad thing if your okay with it but it’s not the same as a labourer ruining his body to extract a product because he is a means to an end not the product(still bad). Definitely agree that degrading sex workers is bad but that’s a given, though further explanation would be that societies that vilify sex work only make the industry worse as people don’t help/care about the workers as we can can see from modern times and recent history. What I’m trying to say is that much of why the sex industry is bad is because of vilification.
@@aboi6498 Respectfully, I disagree with most of what you are saying. Unless you are the business owner you are being used by someone else to make money for them. It doesn't matter what industry you're in, YOU are being commodified. Even if you are paid to mine gold, your body, your physical labour is the commodity the employer is paying for. The consumer is paying for the gold, but your employer is paying you to use your body for profit. Sex work should have benefits, and should be leveraged to earn more or get better positions, but its vilified, so sex workers do not have the same access to these things as other workers. I also never worked a minimum wage job outside of high school, so the option is not "minimum wage or prostitution" like you are implying. Obviously no one should have to "turn to sex work," but no one should have to turn to working 3 jobs to make ends meet either. Sex work is not for everyone, & people should be educated on the risks associated with the job, but at the end of the day if people "turn to" sex work, its not the end of the world. I chose this because I value myself, my time, and my mental health, more than I value the "white picket fence" lifestyle that is so heavily pushed. I also completely disagree that people who pay for sex workers are bad in any capacity. Some people don't want to date, but still want companionship. Have I had shitty clients? Obviously, but I can tell those clients to fuck off, and I sure as hell couldn't do that working in an office. Most of the people looking for paid companionship are totally sweet people.
@@cutsiebear09 Fair enough. I guess most of my view comes from not having any insight into your industry and relying on what I perceive from the outside looking in. You obviously know better(like your point about the clients) so my apologies to you and the clients. Though I disagree about the point where every job is you being commodified. Depends on how you look at it an from certain analytical viewpoints like a critique of capitalism it's valid but from a economic viewpoint I'd say thats wrong. I also don't believe that "unless your a business owner you are being used by someone else to make money", most jobs wouldn't exist without a corporation, government, etc behind it to make make money through the unique web it forms with other moving parts and jobs(if that makes sense), while exploitation at the bottom which feeds the over paying of anyone with sway in the organization(bosses, shareholder etc) is far too common, it's not the norm(it's more normal that the bottom rungs are underpaid based in comparison to their labour in order to fuel business growth/edge in "successful business or make up for short comings in failing businesses->Both of these are functions to keep the organization and jobs it creates alive). But perhaps it's different in America(where I presume you live) or I've gotten complacent in my middle class life style. I agree sex work should have benefits but how would they come about without corporate intervention(which would be bad), the government which would be impossible to pass past "stop prostituting and you may be eligible for extra welfare for a short period of time", or cooperatives of sex workers which would/would have already happened from within. Also I don't see how you could leverage to earn more in this industry? Even if all sex workers worldwide agree to raise their prices simultaneously I don't think that would work. If you mean on the personal level than maybe but that is already possible and doesn't solve the issue, fundamentally as you have a direct relationship with the demand(client) you pay directly based off what they are willing to pay, how much demand there is, and how much you supply. Regardless it seems that I was to presumptuous about sex work and I learned. Though I want to say it should exist just like any other job there are certain things about it that I can't get over. Still people should work in it if they want to without being treated worse. Perhaps I'm still bigoted but I can't see how valuing it above "normal" work aside from the easy and more money. I see how it's better for mental health if you truly enjoy it, how it's better for time, not sure what white picket fence means exactly but if it means a "normal" lifestyle than I don't see how it should be valued more. In an ideal world it would be valued as the same as every job but with the many downsides there are currently I don't see how a comparable normal job wouldn't be more coveted(I understand they are harder to get/impossible in most situations)

Tall women are beautiful af, if you ever down remember all main stream models are super tall. I wish I can be taller
My boyfriend is only like an inch taller than me and although he hasn’t expressed his insecurity I’m sure it’s there. I don’t know why our society has to put pressure on literally every aspect of ourselves. It makes me really sad when I hear things like this. Yo i was thinking that too. Man's was thinking of Las Plagas
Lol facts

And this issue presents very differently than it does in the US so it requires people from Europe that know about it to speak on it.
@@starkmensvag4629
1. You aren't buying consent, you're buying sex from someone who consents to give it if you pay them.
2. All menial labor is exploitative
3. All sex workers aren't women

Right? These conversations constantly take place without us having a place at the table and it’s so exhausting and infuriating
I mean who cares what other people say. Sex work will always be judged. Most people are prudes. Just do you
I don’t mean to be mean but bad take.
In an ideal world it would be valued as the same as every job but with the many downsides there are currently I don't see how a comparable normal job wouldn't be more coveted(I understand they are harder to get/impossible in most situations)
ethan is that type of guy who randomly sprinkles "that happens all the time" after an anecdotal story
