Mr. Grozer's advice is to arm and disarm the biocomposite bow really slowly, otherwise you risk to damage the bow. After you arm it pull the string a couple of times lightly. These measures are needed to ease the tensions between the layers gradually. Beste Grüße
Armin, I just bought my first Grozer, the BC turkish at 45 pounds... I am so excited, and without this review I never would have heard of Grozer! Thank you for the masterful shooting and excellent review.
As a follow up... after a month of owning said turkish bow.. all I can say is wow. Grozer bows.. definitely worth every penny.
Do you shoot at a moderately traditional club?
At my old club/gatherings in which my family would come and shoot, everyone used to shoot traditional bows and all I would hear is Grozer this Grozer that, get a bow from Hungary, is that a Grozer bow? The man has such a great reputation lol
@@BibtheChib sadly no decent clubs in my area. :( but my girlfriend and father shoot with me, and they use Flagella Dei bows - great company too, but there is just no comparison. The Grozer is just.. truly a living extention of the arm, there's no other way I can put it! Lulz happy shooting!
I just got one yesterday and it is fantastic. No stacking, smooth draw unique appearance. Shoots well.

Awesome bow. I have one in short turkish model. First shoot not so fast, but more use day by day, now its speed is awesome
It's a beautiful bow, and clearly performs very well. Rather surprised at the materials, having worked in biocomposites in the past, I was expecting something more radical in the materials, however, it does count as biocomposite in the broadest meaning of the term. Great review as always.
I have the Grozer short Turkish biocomposite in 55lbs. I love it. It is a smooth nice bow.

Awesome, this is probably the first quality review of a Grozer bow on youtube, atleast from what I know. I just wish he would start accepting paypal, it would make buying his bows way easier instead of this 1993 style bank transfer. (Note: I’m a stupid kid who doesn’t know all this about international bank transfers)

I agree with you about this bow, I'm on my second one. The first one cracked at the handle after 11 months. They were very good about it and gave me the pick of their stock with no hassle what so ever. This was years ago. At that time a debate started, as to which of his bio bows was the best. Either the Assyrian or the Hunnish. Don't know the result. Some said that speedwise they are similar, but Hunnish was more forgiving. I started NFAS field shooting some years back. Bio bows were not allowed in the Primitive division because they are not made from natural materials, but can be used in other divisions. But for me it has to the Primitive Division, as it is the only one that allows the use of a Thumbring. So I now make my own bows and have just started two types of composite bows.
I have an injury in my right wrist from years ago and using three fingers is very painful ,, i use a release but havnt tried the thumb release yet
I love my Grózer biocomposite magyar. Mine's crazy accurate as well. Same problems with the string though. Mine arrived frayed in a lot of places and had to wax it profuselfy.
Best thing is make a new string, it's great to do

Just received my new one ! Last one in stock last week, 47#@28, incredibly soft for these short bow and my 28 draw length . And the accuracy is just...pffff! Waooooow
The spine tolerance is also very good. I try different heavy wood, bamboo and carbon arrows, 55/60#, 65/70, 500 with 175gr point and 400 with 200gr point, and all of them fly very well at 15 m. I'll try longer distances these afternoon.... For less then 400 euros you'll have a really fantastic traditional bow
I also have a Biocomposite Assyrian bow, mine is 45#. It's quite an interesting bow to shoot. Unfortunately the horn layer broke on mine for no reason. It was repaired by Grózer on warranty but it took 6 months until I got it back. Also one day during a tournament the upper limb took set and didn't return all the way back to the resting position. But after 3 days unstrung on a warm radiator it was back to the original form. Like I said, quite an interesting bow.
Got a Turkish short biocomposite, a painted one, don't know if this is common knowledge, he does different colors on request aswell. Can not recommend it enough tbh, I shoot with a Turkish ring and it just 'clicks' well with such a very short bow.

The biocomposite bow is always loaded slowly
the removal of the nerve is twice as slow as the horn plates can separate
nerve up slowly..nerve down very very slowly
somewhere around the internet is a video of Csaba Grózer, in which he explains why this is important ... the point is that the bow can be damaged if you do it quickly.

I own this bow .. indeed an accurate review but i think the handel is a bit small i wrap it with tennis wrap😀
I was a tennist and that was the first thing i thought when i wanted a good grip on my handle XD i don't know whyI should have got super complicated with leather straps or strings :P

Would tennis wrap help with hand shock? I read anti vibrational tape helps. Is this basically it?
The string isn't damaged. Those are hardened string wax that peels off over time. I peel them off and apply own wax.
I still dont know the material of the string !
the gift remark is a tax thing. In some countries gifts are excempt from import taxes, under a certain amount of course.

I have this bow in 53# and have achieved 217fps with a 440 grain arrow. Very fast but a bit of handshock. I have a Grozier Short Turkish Biocomposite bow and much prefer it to the Assyrian model

Adjust the brace height more or less and hand shock will almost be gone.

Good day Armin . Great video again. This Assyrian bow or the Curon bow from Kyzl bows is better ? I would like to know what is your real opinion PLEASE Assyrian vs Curon ??? As I like both of this bows just cannot decide which is better . As I like this bows high quality both of them.

Beautiful bow. Really has me thinking of buying one. I was thinking of getting one of mariner's bows like a ming moon sometime in the future, but I'm really loving the natural materials used in this biocomposit bow. Do you have any thoughts on pros and cons of this bow vs a ming moon? Or is it pretty much a win win regardless which bow?
One thing I'm wondering is what kind of care does the biocomposit need compared to a liminated bow? Is it waterproof, should it be unstrung everytime, etc.

when will some bowyer attempt to sell a neo-assyrian-looking bow ?
an angular bow; with small round bow ears allowing the bow string to pass over the bow ear (somewhat like over a compound bow pulley); only slightly curved backward when unstrung; with limbs having a round/oval cross-section; designed to be drawn far behind the ear; curved as a perfect semi-circle when drawn as it must, to ~36 inches ?

Though the Assyrians were much earlier, it looks a lot like the Yzri bow from the 1st/2nd century used by Syrians employed by the Romans. ;)
I am not a historian, I am an archer. The bows name is assyrian, the rest is none of my business :D there are way smarter people out there for this, not my cup of tea
After some googling I managed to find the Yzri bow, it looks more like the bows in assyrian and egyptian iconography than any bow I managed to find in roman iconography. I found some modern drawings of syrian auxiliary archers with a similar bow but I wouldn’t put my faith in those. Grozer’s assyrian bow is similar enough to the assyrian iconography in my opinion.
I was surprised by that price. Was expecting 1000$. One question. Is it better than the Kheshig? 😁

Appealing to the historians in the comments,
I’m currently in the market for a recurve bow fitting descriptions and iconography of the Achaemenid Empire. Standardization is somewhat rare during that period and tends to favor regional influence over any “national” standards.
From what I’ve seen and read it would seem that this Assyrian bow design more closely matches contemporary Persian depictions.
Would anyone be able to shed some light on this? Would the Achaemenid Persian bows resemble a single arching recurve such as the Assyrian bow or would they be closer to the nomadic double recurve of the Scythians?

I once had a biocomposite from Grozer - it exploded into pieces when I was stringing it - reported it to Grozer who said that they had been using a faulty glue and refunded. Aside from that, it should not be assumed that the sinew is performing as it would on a traditional composite bow - in Grozer's 'biocomposite' the sinew is mixed with modern materials and loses its natural function. Mergen Klomp, owner of the Fairbow company took a Grozer composite to pieces and established that the 'biocomposite' element made no real difference when compared to a bow made of all man mmade materials - Grozer threatened to sue, but backed down when Klomp said basically 'O.K, see you in court'.
Spelling correction: the name should have read 'Magén Klomp'.

Hey Armin I need your help! In your opinion what is the best Turkish styled bow? I had bought a Turkish fiber glass from Ali bow and unfortunately I think I was overdrawing one too many times and one of the limbs cracked and it's now unusable. I'll be saving for a new Turkish bow since that is my preferred bow style at the moment. Any suggestions? Laminated this time hopefully. Thanks :)
when you overdraw the next one too it will be a bit more expensive my friend. Laminated there is a ton of options out there. You can go with the one from Alibow, Taylor, Akos, Jackal, even AF has a nice one of which i will do a review very soon
@@ArminHirmer I know, I was hoping one with longer draw, because the alibow fiber glass one only goes up to 29 inches, so perhaps something that had a 31 to 32 inch draw Turkish bow?
As I recall, Turkish bows, historically speaking, didn't have such a long draw, so probably you would have a hard time getting one. The max draw length of a Turkish style bow I saw was 30".
@@grzegorzszczepaniak2355 then I'd probably have to get that, I don't think I was overly over drawing, maybe a few times just to see how far it could draw back. But I'm not entirely sure. But the bottom limb ended up cracking somehow unfortunately. I my self don't have that long of a draw length either, but I was probably pulling a little behind my top cheek bone to around 29 to 30 inches

So, a biocomposite bow would be am advanced bow, I guess. Is this because you need to be careful how you treat it? I personally can't wait to go past a fiberglass bow. The "hand shock" is killing me. It's something you don't quite understand untill you experience it, I guess.
I only have handshock on my Nomad horsebow with 6gpp arrows 7gpp if I dont do khatra but who are we kidding. I was shooting a laminated angular bow before that that didn't like light arrows particularly

I'm shopping for a turkish bow right now. Without considering price, how do you think the biocomposite compares to the Golhan sipahi bow and a good laminated bow like a Jackal? Is it that much better?
materialwise the bio or even a real composite of course. Gölhan is designwise the closest imo.

hi. something not too expensive and not too heavy to draw. we start here always with snake recurve by arc rolan. But a fibreglass bow from alibowshop.com will do the job too - they can send you directly matching arrows

it is not a biocomposite bow, but glass fiber is also visible. You were deceived and tough. if it was really a biocomposite bow, you could fold it in half, pull it by the ear.

Looks like the biocomposite to me; it's not the laminated Assyrian. Pressed horn/sinew, reinforced w modern fibers and adhesives. Needs more TLC than a laminated bow, but less than a real horn bow. I have the Hungarian and Tatar biocomps. Need balancing like a horn bow, but hold shape once you set it.
