Chef, I grew up in a bordertown Nogales Az and we know about great Mexican food and let me say my mom and I used to love watching your show on PBS. Now I watch your videos on youtube. We enjoy the authenticity of your dishes and explanation of where a lot of these dishes and ingredients come from in Mexico. Saludos!
I made these last night and threw some leftover chorizo that I didn't want to go bad in with the salsa. These were some of the best tacos I've ever had. 3 people and we literally ate like 15 of them...
These tacos look delicious! The sound quality of this video seems muffled. Also whoever preps your kitchen inform them that using metal spatulas and non stick pans together is really dumb.
I went to Escondido on a couple of surf trips a looooong time ago and immediately fell in love with the food there. I'm having people over tomorrow and this is what they're having whether they like it or not. I'm guessing they'll like it.
These look great. I love the simplicity of the recipe and the heating of the tortillas in oil. It reminds me of the way my mom would heat the tortillas for her enchiladas before stuffing and rolling them.
Halfway thru the video I paused it and ran to the store to get cheese, shrimp, cilantro and everything else. I am now enjoying a burrito and finishing this video. Thanks
What's going on with the audio? I need this video in my life but all I hear is the sound of endless candy wrappers... I mean, I know there is a sizzling pan but maybe we can use a mic next time?
@@JohnVC Teflon is still widely used, just without PFOA. Also, All-Clads own website says it's recommended to not use metal utensils on their aluminum hard anodized pans. There is no non stick out there that won't get ruined by metal utensils.
I really, really enjoy Taco Tuesdays and have used many of Rick's recipes at home with varying degrees of success. I guess that's expected from a home cook. I'm sure Rick's tacos are perfect every time. I know real Mexican cooking at home would be still be lost in the world of quesadillas and burritos if it were not for Rick. He is a master. My only question. Why not add bacon to this taco? Would it not add a level a smokiness if you are cooking this at home over the flat top grill or in a cast iron skillet?
He is a professional working executive chef with many restaurants and a personal wealth of over 30 million. I strongly believe he knows what he is doing. Btw where are you an executive chef at? Also what’s your culinary background since you are so knowledgeable on spatula usages?

What kind of skillets are those? They look nonstick, but I wouldn't expect him to use that
I'd like to know too
Oh my goodness... These look amazing, chef. I'd serve these with a homemade guacamole and Mexican crema.

You need a microphone or just do a voice over. I also see why Gordon ramsay is always screaming Pan Down! To his cameraman lol
You didn’t shake the ketchup.. I’m triggered lol I joking. These look amazing.
Great video! You have such a peaceful demeanor. It's obvious you love to cook. Can't wait to try these!

Carrizalillo has changed quite a bit. Just 174 steps to access “cielo en la terra.”
That metal spatula scraping the non-stick surface is like nails scratching a chalkboard for me
Beautiful, you make it look graceful.

Sir you outdid yourself again, good stuff
My husband who is from Mexico, love these and was impressed. He is a very picky eater.

Yummm going to do a video of this recipe , lets see if it comes out good as yours . I'm a horrible cook lol
metal utensil in nonstick pan=party foul
Sam_Fisher That's an All-Clad hard anodized aluminum pan, it's not the 80's and it's not Teflon
Yeah, the times are changing. High quality non-stick are metal-utensil safe these days

Quesadillito! I love it.

Ufffff my mouth watered like crazy 😜
Chef using that huge spatula to mix ingredients in that small skillet has got me like 🤨

not a fan of shrimp but i might be willing to try this because it looks good
Wonderful but my wife can no longer eat anything with seeds in it so I ask, can I sub the tomatoes with tomato sauce or paste????
If she can eat tomatoes, just remove the seeds. That's easy enough to do. I would try plum tomatoes because they don't have as many seeds.
your recipes are amazing
Sooooooo good!!
No camal?
TACO GOD
So you're just gonna look me dead in the eyes and tell me that's anything but a quesadilla?
A quesadilla is a taco with melted cheese
