Incredible how nathaniel was like "oh I'm going to start my podcast inviting some close friends" only to then bring one of the biggest female representatives of latin music from the past 10 years.

Ever since the little snippet we had about this episode with Carla, I’ve been waiting for it so much. Carla is one of those artists that touches that small part of your heart that no one else does. Incredibly enough Nathaniel is one of those creators that touches a small part of your brain that no one else does. Incredible incredible people, who are just like us, but are open to share their lives.

To explore one's interior journey is not an easy task. To articulate and then share that journey is a brave and humble choice. To create a space for others to feel safe enough to share THEIR feelings and journeys is a gift, Nathaniel. Your podcasts are a wonderful way to share this gift with us. Thank you for taking the chance.

This popped up on my feed this morning while having a rough couple of weeks. Not knowing Carla, I've just listened to her Tiny Desk concert while reading the translations of that incredible language and feeling her emotions transmitted through her art. I cried and cried. It was just as she said - I could re-connect to my emotions (that I've carefully hidden away) through her music. And listening to her words in this conversation was like a sort of needed advice after pouring out my emotions and a long session of crying. I do feel better now, more hopeful I'd say. What a beautiful soul full of inner wisdom. Love her, love this conversation. Thank you so much to the both of you, looking forward to discover more through your podacst.

DUDE!!! “The world opens up to you, when you open yourself up to the world.”
In this book “A new earth” by Eckhart Tolle there is a line that goes along the path “What you think the world is holding back from you is whatever you are holding back from it.” I thought this was so profound.

I love that you did this show! I would love to join in one of your episodes. I got a lot to share.... I remember the past 8 years, I was so broke I couldn't even afford a meal. I had to realize that at that point that no one was going to walk me through things in life and I had to do this on my own and figure out everything alone. I now live in the nordic woods of Sweden and post about self improvement after surviving a great ordeal in life, from the Boston bombing attack to being homeless, depressed struggling with an anxiety disorder and other mental disorders before I studied my pain and got certified in therapy. I used it to heal and run my own business and also move out of Miami where I worked in a corner store overnight in one of the most dangerous hoods in Miami. I am so grateful I got out, because I knew the other route, and it was not going to end well. Now I have a RUclips channel that I am using to help others improve in life and I hope I get to help at least one person reading this 🙏🏽💜

Thank you for this interesting interview. As a sporadic RUclips user to whom your videos are recommended, I believe, dear Nathaniel, just stay authentic. Perhaps you think this is a lame advice - possibly - but I would suggest, follow the sparks and don't care about any numbers. Stay real. I feel like you connect with me because you are not trying to be something you aren't. You're not putting up a show but to me, you seem like a human being living in Paris, just putting lots of work in social media and ideally being able to make a living through it. Hence you seem like a real person that I could meet in some café in Paris. Stay that real. That is what I mean with authentic. Despite, I also believe that true success is not the number of followers but the love, attention and care you actually receive in real life from your girlfriend, friends and family. The bonds and friendships you build with your podcast guests are the true take away for your life in the end. Many thanks for all your efforts and hard work, as for sharing yourself so openly. May fruitful blessings come your way.

I don’t even know where to begin. I began listening to Carla’s music years ago when I began studying Spanish and her music has stayed with me all of these years. Now I understand that connection; hearing her speak, so much of what she said, I can relate to at a fundamental level (need for approval, hypersensitivity, perfectionism, anxiety - often all at once). While I guess we shouldn’t look to others for validation, it still is so validating to see someone else who is immensely likeable and warm deal with some the same struggles. It reminds me that I am more than them and I too have something to offer…Im not just an amalgamation of all my bad days. Thank you for creating this. Im always moved by your videos. Being able to create these types of forums (where people feel comfortable sharing from simple musings to some of the darkest parts of themselves and their history) is really special and says a lot about the creator. This is definitely something to be proud of.

You were very fortunate that your parents were intuitive enough to understand it and pass it along to you. I wish I'd had that. listening to this episode right now is so timely. I can totally relate to what Carla said of not listening to music with lyrics before 10AM. I can't bare to listen to any music with lyrics for a few weeks now because it overwhelms me. and it pains me because.. I love music so much.
something happened to me recently that just opened a can of worms (past issues and traumas were triggered & crawled back to the surface). I was judging myself for being too affected by it and downplaying it. so, in the past few weeks, I lost that inner voice. I realized I was using social media as a bandaid, to numb the pain, and let what other people wanted from me dictate what I did. then I decided, 2 days ago, to step away from social media for a month because I felt that's what I really need at the moment - quiet.
please keep your podcast going, Nathaniel. it's really great that you're sharing these conversations with us. your episodes are like a gentle reminder of what we should really focus on. 💖

I’ve been struggling mentally and emotionally so much with feeling guilt about productivity and having a lack of support while on my journey as a creative screenwriter.
