Is it a way to get a wireless controller to connect to it
I seem to have uninstall the xbox extended feature support driver and reinstall to make my controller work every time I play Dead by Daylight. Not sure why it's not working the way it used to though, makes me frustrated.

@@ChupacabraTutorialswhen I play rise of the tomb raider or 2013 tomb raider the games both freeze off and on during gameplay do you know why this is and know of a way to fix it before I couldn't even get into the game but installing the driver from steam settings seemed to fix it somewhat if the controller wasn't working can't you just use the keyboard and mouse it is a pc game don't know why a controller issue would cause the game not to be playable I have an asus gaming laptop there known for having many black screens because windows 11 has a hard time reading or connecting to the screen it sucks I just got this laptop it was on sale for 998.99 but was originally 1,339.99 it's funny because when I first started playing both my controllers worked fine then just today they quit working the driver fixed it but I still get freezing problems in the game

I literally just watched this for you to tell me to plug in my controller. I was hoping to find out how to plug in my controller to steam without a plug 😂🤷♂️ using Bluetooth. All you told me was to plug into my controller and here are some settings which is completely all self explanatory. Maybe what I'm looking for is as well and I need to just look around more. Anyways thanks! :)
Most Xbox controller require a wireless accessory. They use a funky type of wifi instead of Bluetooth.
How do you install driver?
I installed the driver in steam settings and enabled xbox input but my rise of the tomb raider game keeps freezing off and on before my controller worked fine without doing this then just today both my xbox and ps4 controller stopped working installing the driver from steam settings then going to controller seemed to fix it but I don't know what causes the game to freeze off and on

If you ever wanted to play sometime, let me know because there's a few games I play that I can see in your list (such as don't starve together and stardew) and I'm looking for more friend groups ^_^
Any one know if you can pair the controller to a quest vr then link the headset to steam liink? Otherwise i have to go through the directly for input

You can, but you have to buy one of those Xbox wireless kits because they use a funny kind of Wi-Fi for their wireless
Well that was completely useless... My Xbox controller still says no controllers detected... Nintendo switch controller works just fine... Xbox... nada

I’m not sure what you run but I was able to connect my Xbox controller by using the Bluetooth on the pc itself, works fine for me
@@KingCookie9762that's what I do connect through blue tooth with my laptop but just today both my xbox and ps4 controller quit working for rise of the tomb raider and tomb raider 2013 I couldn't even get into the game the game would act like it wanted to load then my pc went to a black screen and did nothing after that asus laptops are known for getting many black screens because windows 11 has a hard time reading or connecting to the screen
Some earlier revisions do not have bt so you need a special dongle to connect it to PC. They are visual difference too for these revisions
Wait im confused? How would I do this with a wireless controller? (I dont have any cables or anything else to connect to my actual pc)
Someone said that you can connect the Xbox controller with Bluetooth, but when I went online years ago they sold me a wireless kit because I guess the new Xbox controllers use a special kind of Wi-Fi. The kit pretty easy to use but it would require you to buy it.

dude im having a damn nightmare. all the buttons work but the R3 button WONT TURN like im turning it but it doesnt show up in steam. and the controller isnt broken wth is going on. i need help
My dpad on my xbox 360 controller is no longer working on steam for some reason, Yet it works on any other game not on steam, Even the xbox 360ce tester sees my dpad is working fine.
When I play a game on Steam using my Xbox Controller on Bluetooth, after a few minutes the controller doesn’t respond to anything. When this happens I press the Windows button on the keyboard to go back to the Steam page then play the game again and then it responds again. But this happens repeatedly and only on Xbox. Anyone has any idea why?
my xbox controller just isn't apearing in the "No Controllers Detected" part yet works completly fine on things like gta and for honor, i turned off something in steam a while back because it was making games unplayable on controller and i think that has had an affect on this.
same, I disabled steam’s controller overlay because it kept messing with other apps….and now it doesnt work at all

@@AllSports_Insider to be honest im not sure how but after time it fixed itself i just had to cope and play on keyboard, the only thing i did was try i different controller so could be that not sure.
I figured out this issue. I've done plenty of testing and found out I needed the right cable hooked up. I used a 3rd party cable and it never worked, once I hooked up the cable that came with the XBOX then it worked perfectly fine. Long story short, play around with different cables.
@@L3ADR i have a similiar issue but i use bluetooth. with cable it works perfectly fine but bluetooth it doesnt detect it in steam but the pc itself does
Hi there I have a question, so In steam it shows my Xbox controller is connected and everything but when I load into the game the buttons on my controller don’t work all the sudden, any tips ?

Yeah, same here. I bought into the lies and spent 60eurs on a XBOX controller for nothing, because the little info there is online, on youtube, reddit, etc (i.e. updating firmware and whatnot) has not worked for me at all. I find it unbelievable how companies can lie so easily. Dual Shock controllers, crappy weird branded controllers, etc all work out of the box with the Deck. The damn XBOX controller just doesnt. It needs tinkering and still that is not assured to work. And its easy to look online and see that this is a problem that affects many people.

I get the driver installation failed notification when i press install driver. Im on windows11 nd using Elite 2 controller.
Not sure. You may need to just wait or run steam as admin to get it to behave.
When I have my controller wired it detects it fine on steam. When I want to connect it using bluetooth It cannot find it.
If you have a newer Xbox controller for the Xbox One. A lot of them dont have bluetooth. So you may need the antenna microsoft sells to get it to work properly. Otherwise. Dunno.
Do all games support controllers?
Not all. But its pretty common

you can use a wire or you can use it wireless. This video just covers the driver not the wireless setup process. To keep things short and concise.

Thanks for the video but I think it is currently useless for a lot of people, me included, that can't even connect the controller at all :( because a lot of us can't see the "Xbox Extended Feature Support Driver" button and as I write this, there is no information online regarding this. I think the name of the video should be "HOW TO SETUP/CALIBRATE Xbox controller on Steam Deck" and not "How to connect" since your controller is already connected in the video. So you are probably attracting a lot of people that believed the current companies lies and thought it was as easy to use an XBox controller as it was a Dual Shock or even a crappy bluetooth one. Only the Xbox one is NOT plug and play on the Steam Deck and no one is being upfront about it.
Strange issue to have. I wonder if theres a way to manually download and install the extended feature support or to see what it requires in order to download in the first place. Could be a decent topic for a future video.
@@ChupacabraTutorials that would be a great idea. In the meanwhile I got access to a Windows machine and managed to update my new Xbox controller. But there are still many issues with it and the Steam Deck. Even Microsoft has screwed up with Edge as it is currently not recognising Xbox controllers sometimes (and Chrome/Firefox do..).

I just got the controller, which in my country is very expensive, and felt cheated and lied to.. you are just trying to help people using their controllers, and it’s a great video for that. Its fine. Part of making guides and tutorials is understanding that a lot of folks arrive at my videos already frustrated beyond belief. Provided you dont go out of your way to insult me or swear a bunch (Which you didnt, its clear you were just frusted), i dont take offense. I just try and pay attention to common issues folks have, and if that calls for another video and im capable of making it, I do. Thats about it really.

What he dose not say is - he dose not teach you to custom your controller to a specific game. I tried all day to customer my XBox controller to more comfortably play GTA 4.

that should be fixed in my opinion. for example with old games on any platforms. if you had a old console game that got released around a time to play with a certain specific controller. playstation 1 or playstation 2, xbox, gamecube... whatever. that there is a library of control settings from games with old original controller setting that can adapt to other controllers on another platform. that should do the trick. but for now some of us get technically frustrated with stuff like this. for example the PS1 game abes exoddus. they offer these games on steam to play on PC and people play with all kinds of controller types but not every game unfortunately.
