I don't understand why ram upgrade isn't possible cos the ram shows 1 of 2 slots used which means you can fix another ram in the empty slot so why is that not possible I think you just need a good technician to disassemble the parts and then fix it for you it should work
2nd memory slot is not soldered-in, only white marking on the motherboard can been seen but no connector. Most likely the same mobo is used in different laptop models with attached components strictly matching particular configuration with virtually no possibility to upgrade. Typical tactic from Lenovo across variety of equipment.
I dont understand why any computer maker would make a computer that you cant upgrade the ram. I bought this modal thinking I could upgrade. to fit a socket on the motherboard that has provision for one would cost pennies. STUPID, Lenova. 4gb in a modern laptop makes it useless. I have it from the Lenova help site, it is not upgradable. Stupid,
the right upper corner looks like an M.2 slot. from another video i watched about the Walmart $129 special on this laptop, it has an M.2 slot. also, what's the unhooked black cord to the left that's taped down?
@@networktutor640 yes, i was asking about that too. i'm gonna buy the Walmart version because it has a spot for the M.2 drive. thank you for answering me!
I have the 128GB version of this laptop. It is definitely not a replacement for my desktop machine, but it satisfies my needs. I have a hybrid work schedule. So, I work part-time in the office and part-time at home. I log in remotely to my work VDI using Citrix. I have a desktop in my home office with 32GB RAM, 5 TB of storage and two monitors. So, I don't need a laptop when I am there. However, because I am on-call 24/7, I wanted an inexpensive lightweight laptop to carry with me so that I can log in to my VDI when I am away from home. I'm not a gamer. This laptop is perfect for that purpose.
Thanks sir give knowledge But more than I thinking that It's really we can't setup more gb inside.. Because I buy now this laptop There are showing Processor - Intel (R) N4120 CPU@ 1.10GHz Installed RAM 4.00 GB ( 3. 65 GB usebl ) System type 64- bit operating system, × 64 - based processor Please reply me I wan make up it 8 GB
Looking at a distance of 20 inch between my eye and my phone, i can clearly see a slot for m.2 just opposite to the LCD connector. Dude you need more experience even if you dont have the degree.
Maybe an idea is that you pond it at a pond shop, get money back ,save of that and buy a another one?, Well I'll just what to do because I had that same model and I'm gonna figure out to see what's inside in my laptop like this.
How can you post tutorial when anyone can see that you have NO IDEA what are you talkind about - HDD can be upgraded-look at SSD-M2 slot / Ram can be upgraded-look at empty Ram socket.
Hello - thanks for your comments. I did the research again to see if it is upgradable. But looks like it is not. See this Lenovo forum. forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-1xx-3xx-5xx-7xx-Edge-LaVie-Z-Flex-Laptops/Ideapad-1i-14-HD-Laptop-Celeron-N4020-RAM-upgrade/m-p/5190712 Let me know where did you find it can be upgradable? Easy upgradable devices have extra slots
These are wrong pointers. I could add an extra 8GB of RAM on top of the existing soldered 4GB and also an NVMe drive in the M.2. We could clearly see those slots for that in you video.

@@paulroberts5443 is it not possible to add 1 more 4gb ram stick?
Your Explanations Are Very Good.
Thanks a lot

it is a heatsink. Both od the heatsink are connected using a small black metal. Is this what you asking ?
@@networktutor640 yes, i was asking about that too. i'm gonna buy the Walmart version because it has a spot for the M.2 drive. thank you for answering me!
@@networktutor640 you can add 512gb m.2 ssd to this laptop. The slot is on the right side of the MB in your video...
Is it sold on Amazon?

thanks for sharing your experience and the use case for this type of laptop.
The laptop came with a M.2 slot at the top right of the motherboard. It is labled.
Mine has a ram slot and that M.2 slot that you mentioned before
Thank you very much sir for describe about this laptop😌
You are very welcome
Could I buy a cooling pad for this laptop?
Thanks sir give knowledge
But more than I thinking that
It's really we can't setup more gb inside..
Because I buy now this laptop
There are showing
Processor - Intel (R) N4120 CPU@ 1.10GHz
Installed RAM 4.00 GB ( 3. 65 GB usebl )
System type 64- bit operating system, × 64 - based processor
Please reply me I wan make up it 8 GB
Well, that's kinda shitty tho, If the soldered storage reaches its endurance point or TBW then there's no way to replace it
agree. it is a cheap laptop in the $100 range. So less flexibility.
sheesh, it's basically landfill when the SD fails outside the warranty period
tiene un puerto para SSD M.2, incluso en el video se puede ver.
I have a similar model with the same case, but mine is upgradable ram & storage, also I don't understand why it doesn't have a fan
Also, mine has a Celeron N4500
3:03 thers space 4 m2 top right
i see it, are you able to make any upgrade using the m2 slot? please share your experience. thanks a lot.
ive got a 2tb ssd in the m.2 slot on mine
What about replacing the memory
Looking at a distance of 20 inch between my eye and my phone, i can clearly see a slot for m.2 just opposite to the LCD connector. Dude you need more experience even if you dont have the degree.
You can upgrade this by throwing it in the e-waste bin 👍 😊
lol
This laptop can’t upgrade Ram memory?
yes. no RAM upgrade possible.
yo tengo el mismo modelo pero que si tiene un puerto para agregar RAM
How stupid is that, 4GB in a modern laptop is useless.

Don't worry though, you could increase more ram with virtual ram once you installed a m.2 ssd or something.
so can i upgrade the ram or no
Why Default boot device missing or boot failed

ARE YOU KIDDING ME
I JUST SPENT 10 HOURS GETTING A CLONED SSD CARD TO REPLACE 😭

This laptop is a waste of money.
Thank you for your comment. It is a purpose built laptop only for simple streaming and portability. It only has limited memory and storage.
