Omgosh, thanks so much. I'd read the manual and I saw this but had no clue where the thing was. Side note: you can tell this guy has kids. His voice took all my stress and anxiety away completely. LOL
Quick tip for ya'll, when you've opened the boot and located the release cable as seen in the video, make sure to press the lock button on the key, then pull the wire I normally hear a click on my A1 then press the unlock button it'll work everytime that way.
If this problem continues you'll need to change the fuel flap actuator more than likely, the part is only £25 - £30 to buy, easy to replace.

Such a lifesaving video! Central locking on my Audi broke recently and I am unable to take it back to Audi due to no fuel in the car! This video really saved me! Just a small question, how do I get the flap to lock again?
happened to me. once i had the door opened, i snipped the tabs off. works fine, lasts a long time
I have a 2006 Audi A3 and I’m experiencing this issue. One of the wires in the driver door is in half and the electrical side isn’t working on that side. So I can’t open the fuel door because of it. Would you know where I can find that at?

Maybe the flap bold is jammed,
Only solution to break the flap.
i just tried this and pulled the red tab off
I fucking stuffed the wire back in and now I've lost the wire for next time!!! Shit!

Disassemble every cover isn’t the interior and try it with a screwdriver and pliers

@@PDPPerformance I'm sorry, another question... I pulled out some of the trim yday, but still couldn't get to it. Theres soundproofing stuffing in the way I think... Does it adhere back if I pull it? Can't I just remove the actuator through the outside?
I managed to force it open but yeah it won't work at all so it does need a new one.
I did not disassembled the unit so far, but i think it is attached from the inside
