  • Опубликовано: 30 июл 2017
  • A common problem on volkswagen ,skoda and audi cars of stuck open or stuck close fuel lid actuators , which then does not let the fuel lid or door to lock and unlock according to the command . happens with all the actuators , a very easy and cost effective method , which can be done at home
    used wd40 but any other spray which can provide lubrication will also work
    which can be fixed easily with some lube spray.

    Thank you WD40 worked. I would suggest before taking the whole piece off spray some WD40 on the actuator button first that worked for me.

    Thank you very much! After breaking my flap off (now repaired with a plastic block fitted into the broken hinge, a screw holding top/bottom and 2 into it through the flap) my release catch stopped working! With 2 outer flap screws removed, I was able to release the loosened flap. I will next carry out the operation as shown in the video but if it does not work, I do know how to fit a replacement used flap assembly. Cheers.

    Great tutorial on accessing the latch! I would use another light weight oil though. Having worked with and serviced pneumatic tools for many years, I found that WD 40 is good for cleaning and penetrating, but as a lube it isn't very long lasting. I'd use something like 3&1 oil or air tool oil for the mechanism.

      Try it once again and try to spray slowly . Because due to high pressure of can it blows all the liquid out .
      If the actuator is jam it will start to work again but if solenoid is going bad then wd40 won't do anything
      I did it along time back and its still working .

      @georgiasaparmtents2438 6 лет назад

      Will do it again later but the noise of locking when locked was not very ''good''..

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  6 лет назад

      Yes its a sealed unit ,so it backsprays , do it slowly it will work if the solenoid is working properly
      You can also use chain lube if you thing wd40 is not working
