I'm going on 9 yrs vegan. The secret to getting the family on board was interesting sauces. Probably will try all of them. Could really use some more vegan salad dressing ideas.
Hello! Catalan here (living in Barcelona): romesco sauce (original from here) is actually traditionally eaten with ''calçots'', a type of spring onion we eat roasted during this time of the year. We actually organize feasts with family and friends called ''calçotada''. That said, your version looks quite similar to the original one (also vegan) and I bet it tastes awesome!
Another catalan here :) thank you so much for the recipe! Actually Ive never seen romesco eaten with seafood, mostly with the calçots or other grilled vegetables, but I'll definitely try it with pasta eventually!
It's all about the sauce. A common one I make is 1 cup tomato sauce, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1-2 tablespoons of tahina, a bit of turmeric salt and onion powder. Works great as a creamy rose style sauce for pasta or for tofu over rice.
So so much appreciation for your nut-free recipes! It's so common for vegan vloggers/bloggers to put such an emphasis on gluten-free foods but forget about other allergies. I was initially put off veganism because of how many meat/dairy alternatives seemed to be nut-based, so it's nice to feel like I've been considered.
so true that people THINK vegan food isn’t as interesting or doesn’t have as much depth of flavor, but really it’s just a whole new cooking style, and once u learn it, is just as diverse and satisfying! i always feel like when people miss certain meat products, they’re probably just missing the seasoning that goes on it. anyway, thanks for your videos as always!
Vegan food is interesting but on my own experience too much of carbohydrates makes me gain weight and causes different inflammations and pain in joints
Thank you for these aswesome sauces! They all look so good and are really easy to do 0:21 Nut-free vegan pesto 2:41 Romesco sauce 4:47 Peanut sauce 6:13 Balsamic vinaigrette 7:30 Tahini sauce
love this , thank you., i made the peanut sause once but i added a freshly squeezed orange and made a stirfry with that . totally blew my mind amazing flavour. never thought that citus and peanut would mix so well
I really enjoyed the pesto recipe. I changed it a bit. I always leave stems on basil, cilantro, parsley ect so I did that and I reduced to oil by over half and compensated with water to lower fat content. I also added only half of a lemon juiced but I did appreciate the addition of pepitas. I usually have added walnuts or sunflower seeds. What I made turned out yummy and I'm toasting bagles with the pesto and adding mushrooms, tomatoes and green onion on top... 😊👍
Everything looks great but those mushrooms, OMG I need them now. Must get some balsamic. I also liked how you gave suggestions on how to use the sauces.
I'm SO inspired! I'm a WLS patient, a lil more than 8 months post-op & am having complications healing & looking for high protein, low fat, healthier recipes with extra protein and calories to help me heal...I'm certain I can use drained & rinsed Cannelini Beans in almost any of these recipes to bulk up the protein and will act as a natural thickener as well!!! Thanks, SO excited! We need this video to become a series/ Playlist please!!!
I'm not vegan, but I struggle to stomach vegetables and have been looking for a way to get some without dealing with the texture. This is great for that, and I can't wait to be earing more veggies!
@maroxa's way 101 Mainly on rice bowls with Caitlin's crispy tofu and stir fry veggies. But I've also used it as a salad dressing and dip for vegan chicken nuggets.
Miso Tahini is a classic combination. I first had it as a spread for cornbread. Also I really like the cold sesame noodle sauce. I could eat cold noodles forever.
I actually tried you cheese sauce from potatoes, cashew and carrots and I love that. Also soy cuisine with tamari and muskat is a go to sauce for me as tomato sauce with italian seasoning for a lazy pasta sauce.
Very appealing, thanks. A useful fyi: If tahini tastes bitter that's because it was roasted, which is noted on the label. Otherwise, unroasted is easy to find.
Most fruits especially melons should be eaten alone for proper digestion an nutrient absorption. When combining fruits sweet combine with sweet, acidic with acidic or subacidic fruits. Also better fresh than cooked for health benefits.
Thank you very much for the video. I have added them to my recipe list. I have a quick question. Do you make the sauces in bulk? How long they are good for (roughly) if they are refrigerated?
Caitlin s recipes are the coolest. With a couple of really good sauces, you can really go vegan which in my case is necessary to keep my weight. Thank you Caitlin, keep coming back
These are awesome, ty! Do you have any substitute for nutritional yeast? I'm intolerant and find it really hard because it shows up on almost every single vegan recipe I find :(
Hey Caitlin, this is a great video. You're right, sauces are a great way to pack in a ton of flavor. Also a fan of lemon juice in my pesto, sadly my bestie hates it with lemon =) Thank you for the inspiration I will be trying the Romesco for sure! xx
Just what i needed today! Eating clean has made me loose too much weight because of how boring it tastes. Do you have a recipe for vegetable sauce that goes with cooked veggies and is also freezer friendly?

5 years going on and I have never seen or heard of doing that with mushroom and I am SO excited to try it!
I love adding miso paste to peanut sauce. Of course, miso paste makes everything more delicious.
Wow the dump and bake casserole with the pesto looks treacherously delicious 😋
I would love oil free sauce and dressing recipes
several of these are oil free, and i have a few more on my blog!
I would suggest swapping the oil for water or plant milk
@@maya8979 and water would do nothing
love this , thank you., i made the peanut sause once but i added a freshly squeezed orange and made a stirfry with that . totally blew my mind amazing flavour. never thought that citus and peanut would mix so well
Caitlin adding again to my growing list of "totally going to try some day"
Love that you used pumpkin seeds for the pesto💗
Definitely want to try the Romesco sauce that looks bomb!
I make a chili garlic sauce that I keep in my fridge for quick stir-fries and to dip roasted veggies in!
I've never tried the romesco sauce, it looks incredible!
YESSS SAUCES ARE ✨EVERYTHING✨

I use Vegenaise as a base for all my sauces to make them creamy!
same!! kinda obsessed. i love adding siracha or chipotle to it, and then mix it with veggies and protein on a tortilla or as a sandwich
@@samara3172 yess!!! Literally same!! Except I’ll put it on like a Buddha bowl!
Great video idea, sauces are SO IMPORTANT. They make everything better. Thanks for the ideas!
Looks yummy!! Great ideas!
I love chimichurri sauce too, especially with noodlees, portobellos and chillies! 😍

I made your tahini dijon dressing and brussels slaw from your cookbook and it was amazing!! My non-vegan family ate all of it!
I am going to try this romesco sauce. I used to get it all the time at my fav restaurant.
Caitlin, you're so close to 1M! I'm so excited for you, I started following you when you were still studying and I'm so excited for your growth!

Great video Caitlyn. I’ll try all these sauces and with the food pairings too.
This video is just what I needed! Sometimes you just need a good sauce (:
All my favorites. I haven’t made a romesco in a long time. I forgot how much I like it.
Thanks Caitlin ❤
Literally all my favorite sauces. I love making vegan Singapore noodles (adding curry powder) and topping it with a drizzle of tahini.
I make this sauce at least once a week:
1 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp Sriracha
2 tbsp soy sauce
It is soooooo good!!
@maroxa's way 101 Mainly on rice bowls with Caitlin's crispy tofu and stir fry veggies. But I've also used it as a salad dressing and dip for vegan chicken nuggets.
@maroxa's way 101 yes! It's so good! And the best part is I always have those items on hand so it's easy to whip up anytime I need a yummy sauce.
Love your channel. Looking for the oil free versions of the presto & balsamic vinaigrette sauce.
Miso Tahini is a classic combination. I first had it as a spread for cornbread. Also I really like the cold sesame noodle sauce. I could eat cold noodles forever.
Great video, Caitlin ! So useful, necessary in fact. Thanks. !
I actually tried you cheese sauce from potatoes, cashew and carrots and I love that. Also soy cuisine with tamari and muskat is a go to sauce for me as tomato sauce with italian seasoning for a lazy pasta sauce.

These look amazing! Great serving ideas as well.
I love making mint or spicy cilantro sauces, or different fruit chutneys. So good and sooo flavorful!
Very appealing, thanks. A useful fyi: If tahini tastes bitter that's because it was roasted, which is noted on the label. Otherwise, unroasted is easy to find.

Girl that pesto though!!! This video is brilliant! Thank you
I love tahini on steamed broccoli.
This is SO helpful, thank you very much Caitlin x
Loved this video, great work
Thanks for making sauces that aren't all tahini based! No problem with tahini, but I easily get sick of it and it doesn't always work with everything.
romesco goes great over grilled/roasted scallions or leeks!
Yummmm! Adding ingredients to grocery list. Thank you!!
Thanks for the ideas!
You're a genious, Caitlin👍
These are awesome, ty! Do you have any substitute for nutritional yeast? I'm intolerant and find it really hard because it shows up on almost every single vegan recipe I find :(
Vegetable Bouillon or dried seaweed .. and/or dried herbs .. or ground seeds/nuts
Brewers yeast too (unless it’s included on your intolerance?) ..
Please please make us a video of any healthy and vegan tangy tomato sauce that we can use on a pasta... thank you
Great ideas, thank you so much!
Hey Caitlin, this is a great video. You're right, sauces are a great way to pack in a ton of flavor. Also a fan of lemon juice in my pesto, sadly my bestie hates it with lemon =) Thank you for the inspiration I will be trying the Romesco for sure! xx
