Once again, Greetings from NSW Australia. I drove up that road from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon in 1993. Then , from the Canyon over to Monument Valley in Utah. That was a great self drive holiday.
@@Latnman101 I hired a sedan vehicle at Skyharbour International Airport Phoenix and drove up to Prescott (old colonial capital of Arizona) and then to Jerome (historic copper mine town) then to Sedona (spectacular escarpment red cliffs) then up through the canyon to Flagstaff. Then on to the Grand Canyon. After that , I drove east to the Desert View Tower (another spectacular view of the Grand Canyon ) and then to the Glen Canyon Dam (great self guided tour inside the dam ) and back south and then east to Kayenta ('gateway to Monument Valley) After that I took a shortcut to Hite via the Moki Dugout. Then onto to Hanksville and then south to the Bryce Canyon and eventually continuing on back to the Glen Canyon Dam. From there is was back to Phoenix via Flagstaff. That was the end of my first tour of the South West of the US of A .
I woke up this morning, and there was another great video waiting for me. You are the only drone pilot on RUclips that always fly lawfully within FAA rules. I never can keep my eyes on my drone when I put it up. Flying way out is a temptation I can’t resist.
Its Saturday, i will be leaving on my adventure, in a SUV with a tent. Hope to see you on the road. 👀🚐 .

Most of the San Francisco peaks are actually volcanoes. It's a pity you couldn't have explored that wildlife trail further. Your chances of seeing some wildlife would be really good when it is deserted like that.
🚁🚁 Morning Russ. Glad you were able to go to the Grand Canyon. My wife and I were blessed to be able to take a helicopter ride over the Canyon about 15 yrs. ago. We went in one that took 4 passengers and a pilot and got to ride up front. Amazing. It was only $80 each back then, which was a lot of money at the time but well worth it. Enjoy the rest of your trip. 😁👍
RVerTV ,The Best In The West. RVerTV Fans Love RVerTV channel- videos. We had frost here in Huron - Kinloss Township; Ontario; Canada - furnace time- firewood. Thank you Russ for your videos ; Happy Trails Russ.
Brr! Cold there. I LOVE LOVE these out of the way places you find, Russ! The scenic or scenery, I could spend the entire day. Man, just gorgeous West Coast beauty. Illinois doesn't rate at all. Sea of pines, beauty.
G-Day Russ, Thanks for taking this drive from Valle to Flagstaff. Looks like a perfect place to go and get out of the Phoenix area and Boon-dock for a week or 2. 110 yesterday 106 today they say. Are you gonna stop at Walnut Canyon on your way? See You Soon!
Great video! You're in my neck of the woods again---I biked that same Snowbowl section of US 180 on Thursday. I believe Valle is actually pronounced "valley" by the locals.
Russ was so happy to see you take the back road from Grand Canyon to FlagStaff , we took this two years ago, was a fantastic drive . Both the wife and I love your videos. Hope to meet you next year. Larry & Deanna from Calgary Alberta Canada
You wouldn't think you were in the same state given the difference in landscape compared to the south. I actually prefer the less visited parts. But it 8s beautiful, nature filled landscape up there.
I took that same road to the Grand Canyon and back from Flagstaff, I recommend it to everyone. Low traffic volume and excellent scenery. Love the flat areas surrounded by pines and aspen. Humphrey's peak is a sight to behold.
I was fortunate enough to time it right years ago I could see the SanFrancisco Peaks from the top of the Palm Springs tram . The news cameras were all over the place. We hiked to Idlewild.
I was wondering about those pines, didn't know if it was bark Beatles or what that was making so many of them dead in spots. So it was fire. Interesting.
What a beautiful area. My dad would winter in Henderson NV and summer in Flagstaff. He figured the best weather of both areas. I love Flagstaff in the summer. It is lovely.
I had a little cabin in Kendrick Park, Beautiful place and lot's to explore. You can drive through Kendrick Park all the way to 89 heading to Cameron and on to Lee's Ferry or Page.
Mountain with the snow is Humphrey's Peak, almost 13,000 feet. Until about 3 months ago, my wife and I owned a lot near the junction of 64 and 180 or Valle. Figured we'd never use it so we sold it.. LOVE that area you're in, but the high altitude doesn't do me any good anymore...
Glad to see that road as was wondering how it was so looked like in few weeks they should have it all resurfaced nice to AZ is working on some. Hope Parker Dam is on their to do list real soon.
You asked yesterday about how to pronounce the little town's name at the entrance to the Grand Canyon. If you're an Arizonan who pronounces the city of Casa Grande 'Cass-a Grand' you pronounce this town TOO-say-anne. If you say Cahsah Grahnd-ay you'd pronounce Tusayan TOO-sai-ahn. Hope that cleared it up, Russ! LoL
You should've went on 64 highway. To Cameron to wapiki National park and grand falls and flagstaff and San Francisco peaks and 1 of those Mountain on your right a cuple years back on those Mountain somebody flying around. A gliders
I read the Flintstone campground is taking out all the Flintstone things and changing to something new. Article said kids today don't know who the Flintstones are. Another loss for the boomers. The government fought the fires for decades,. Then they realized fire was not a bad thing (except for the folks who live there) . The pines need fire to grow baby pines, and clean the forest floor. Now they are letting the wildfires go if they don't endanger people.
they were completing some control burns through there in October of last year as we passed through...yes some Aussie native trees here need the fire to germinate too
I wonder by the way the homes were built if it was ONE original family who settled up there and stayed for a generation or more. Probably hoped they'd stay forever. I'd love to research the history of the land, bet there's a story there.
I've been on that highway he's on, 180, more than once. There's some really nice big homes out there. Some of them looked like they were totally off the grid...water tanks beside the house, solar panels. Be a great place to live if you never had to go, or wanted to go, anywhere on a regular basis.
When you say “Look at those brown pine trees, they’ve had a fire here.” - that’s incorrect. C Truth was right. The dead brown pine tree areas were infested with Mountain Pine Beetles. Those bugs kill the trees by laying eggs in the bark & stopping the nutrient flow up into the tree. Super dry conditions this year have made the trees even more vulnerable. Drove through Kaibab NF CG near Williams today and was shocked at the number of dead trees there!
Well... THIS is the ONLY San Francisco I'd be interested in visiting. After driving truck for a living and dealing with California Oregon and Washington states... the U.S. western border for me is Arizona Nevada and Idaho!!!

What holiday were you celebrating?
@@jonmacdonald5345 Annual Leave. Four weeks of it.
I want to take that same route. Im Native Arizonan yet to go to Monument Valley.

When you said you were going to Valle I thought you meant Vail. I was like "Hey! That's where we are! Why is he coming all the way down here?". lol
I used to live near Vail too, out near Rita Ranch. I believe Valle is actually pronounced "valley".
Morning Russ! Nice work!👍

Yeah!!! RVerTV. I keep the channel on a loop. Great work. Safe travels.

Russ, stayed at that campground with Fred and Barney (haha) family back in late 80's. Wow, some things never change.
Your beautiful videos make me miss America.
Thanks
Thank you Russ! I sure enjoyed it!
Think you for going to my home town Flagstaff.God Bless.
LOVE FLAGSTAFF! When I drove OTR, I would p/u dogfood West of town, also spent many nights at the truck stop! Nice folks!
Flagstaff is a wonderful community with great people. I hope to return soon.
Good morning Russ
Those fires are "controlled burns". We traveled that route in Oct last year during one of the burns.
That McDs there in Tusayan is THE most expensive in the world! Must cater to the helicopter crowd 🚁😂
good morning to you russ
Enjoyed the ride, driven it many times myself.
Yes that's Humphrey summit it's 12,633 feet highest point in Arizona....

Beautiful day for a drive!! Russ and the Beast!!
Hi Russ. What a relaxing ride. No traffic and beautiful scenery. Stay safe.
i like how you only show your trips between campspots. lots of other youtubers show their camping experience. I like how you have found a niche.
Right, Russ shows us how its done, what road to take, etc.

Love the look of the San Francisco Peaks and area. Very nice vid!.👍
I was wondering about those pines, didn't know if it was bark Beatles or what that was making so many of them dead in spots. So it was fire. Interesting.
😲 @20:45, hope that was not a curled up snake.😰
Great ride !❤
The drone is a fabulous bonus.. I think I WILL invest in one !

Thanks for the video journey !
Those mountains are about 30 miles away from Valle.
Sure those arent for fire. Worth it at Grand Tetons. Wow. Go over it drops off like you walked off the mts .🤙
Glad to see that road as was wondering how it was so looked like in few weeks they should have it all resurfaced nice to AZ is working on some. Hope Parker Dam is on their to do list real soon.
The last time I rode over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter in 1988 It was $85.

Elevation of Flagstaff is 6,909 feet
My parents love your show. What do you do for meals? Do you primarily cook or eat out? Curious to know.
Got highway 180 to Flagstaff
What brand drone do you have I like it.
O.K. What happened to that pick up truck at 11:28? Did he go thru a portal, a time warp. a poik or a camera edit?
Hey Russ what is the name or number of the road you were on coming from the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff ? Thanks
Highway 180?
You should've went on 64 highway. To Cameron to wapiki National park and grand falls and flagstaff and San Francisco peaks and 1 of those Mountain on your right a cuple years back on those Mountain somebody flying around. A gliders

I want to ride my Indian on that route

Did not realize the cost of helicopter ride, guess someone has to pay for all that heavy equipment and maintenance of it.
@chris younts insurance is probably a killer bill!
"Who would take a helicopter ride during a pandemic?" I would!
I don't ride helicopters at all. I was an aircraft mechanic in the military during that far east conflict. Helicopters have the glide path of a rock.
Whatever you do, Russ, don't get on one of those BLACK helicopters. Once the government gets its paws on you we'll never hear from RVerTV again!
Especially, when it is advertised as one day only free ride.
I believe S.F. Peak is the highest Point in Arizona.....
Yes Humphreys peak is 12633feet high......
I know that a lot of people enjoy the helicopter tours, but they are a real nuisance when they absolutely destroy the solitude.
Well... THIS is the ONLY San Francisco I'd be interested in visiting. After driving truck for a living and dealing with California Oregon and Washington states... the U.S. western border for me is Arizona Nevada and Idaho!!!

What, no roadgrader on that crew? Amateurs.
Yuck Donald's 😄🤣😂
It looks like a beautiful day in the high country 👋🏻🌻
