Watching from central Florida. Plan to drive out to AZ in January 2021 (if the country hasn't been burned to the ground by then). Such a beautiful state AZ is, as well as other states in that area. Looking forward to this trip, since I just retired 7 days ago. Yay! :)
I moved from Scottsdale, AZ to Lakeside, AZ in 2019 and couldn't be happier. Lakeside has four seasons, clean air, great hiking and nice people. It's also not that expensive compared to Sedona and Flagstaff. It also is quieter with lot's less people than Prescott, Sedona and Flagstaff. Lakeside, AZ is a small rural Arizona gem of a town.
Video is from last year but still very relevant! We purchased a 2nd place in Show Low, great place and lots of trees here, we're at 6400 ft. elevation so stays cooler in summer months and monsoon was very good this year with 17" of rain!
Ah finally a video about my hometown of Pinetop-Lakeside! Great footage as usual, keep up the good work and thanks for recognizing the beauty of the white mountains!
For me I stay in the white mountain Apache Indian reservation and I love the mountains over there for hiking, camping, fishing and hunting also. I love the outdoors for the white mountains its amazing I always love being here when I was young.
currently living in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Tucson is my hometown. completed my medical residency in Globe/Miami and Tombstone area. I'm homesick and need to move back. ASAP!!!
Hello from Ventura,Ca..I’ve taken 2 trips to Az during “pandemic “ 1 to Payson & 1 to Prescott Az. USA.Falling in love with your state! And now you are my go to guy for Az videos .
I lived in Payson for a year. Not only are Payson and star valley gorgeous .. buy within a 20 minute drive of Payson there are COUNTLESS secret spots that only locals seem to go to. I know a place down in the Verde that had 10 hidden waterfalls.. one has a 10 ft chute.. a hole in the granite hill top.. that you can climb straight down into.. like going down a manhole in granite.. And you LITERALLY end up in a cave BEHIND a giant 60 ft waterfall. Of you look at the falls from out front you have no idea there is even a cave BEHIND the water.. it's magical...
The owners of those buildings in Seneca intentionally burned those buildings but that is a different topic. Another great video Jeff - thank you good work Sir!
Thanks for sharing! I've gotten to call pinetop-lakeside and rainbow lake my home for almost my entire life and wouldn't change it for anything! Some tips for visitors: 1. Shop and eat local! It's the best you can find and helps out the locals. 2. Don't rush. If you are impatient to the people around you, it's clear that you're a visitor and it's a good way to get people to not like you. 3. Leave it as you found it and take all your trash and belongings. 4. The further from Show Low you go, the less "city amenities" you'll have. 5. There's no "resort" in the typical sense anywhere in the area, but plenty of lovely cabins, hotels, b&B's, and rentals. 6. If a local directs you to "the deuce", it's the main road in downtown show low. Hon-dah is pronounced like the car and is where "the rez" starts.
Beautiful. I have heard about the White Mountains, Pine Top in particular, from family in Phoenix who go there to escape the heat and congestion. I see how relaxing and scenic this area is. Thank you for another wonderful tour. Adding it to my list of areas to visit. Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
This is absolutely my favorite place on Earth. While I don't live in the White Mountain anymore, I was born in Show Low and lived in the White Mountains for 10 years, growing up. Thank you for sharing this video; it's amazing footage, and I'll undoubtedly watch it over and over and over and over.
I’ve been waiting for you to do a video on Show Low! I’ve never been but it was recommended to me by a friend who used to live in AZ. Thanks for sharing!
As a boy growing up in Phoenix, my parents favorite summer time get-away was Greer. My dad and mom loved the trout fishing. Beautiful place to have a cool and relaxing vacation. I haven't been back to Greer since the early 1960's. I wonder how much is the same, and how much has changed?
Spent a ton of time in the White Mountains as a kid and still can't get over just how damaging the Wallow fire was. Still beautiful even after the fire but sad to think I'll be dead and gone long before the area recovers to what I knew as a kid.
Hi! Beautiful mountain scenery and charming towns. I went to Showlow last year. I dined at the Buffalo Bills Tavern and Grill. Good food and nice atmosphere there. Loved the drive to there from Payson. Thank you for sharing. Happy travels!
Absolutely love coming out to the White Mountains, so beautiful and amazing; stayed in Show Low just last week. Next visit is in April, can't wait, and this time driving out to Greer and Springerville to photograph.
My grandparents lived in PHX but had a summer home in Pinetop. My sister and I were so sad when my aunts sold it to collect their inheritance, but my husband and I make campground reservations in Show Low and at Big Lake a couple of times a year. We can't afford a "summer home," but we can afford a travel trailer! Love being in Arizona! We often talk about selling our home in Chino Valley and moving to Show Low full-time, but you pay "resort" prices up there, and until I retire, I have to be within commuting distance to GD PHX. Grrr!
From Cincinnati, and another great video showing a different side of what Arizona has to offer, other than sun and heat. Keep up the great job and stay safe and healthy.
Watching from New Mexico. Had land in Seligman but sold that snd bought land in Concho. I have a Windsor Valley view to the north and White Mountains/ Mt. Baldy view to the south.
Excellent video, thank you! Ever been to that big hotel in Eden with the hot springs pool? if you want to see a movie portrayal of a different type of "wildlfe", that apparantly is "out of this world", east of the white mountains, you may want to see the movie "Fire in the Sky".
My fave place in az is the white mountain apache rez. Native antelope, eagles, elk, beavers, split tail hawks.. everywhere. Beautiful clear lakes teeming with rainbow and apache trout. It's magical there. Like a setting from Lord of the rings. And a heads up... everyone fishes at horseshoe Seneca lake because it's always well stocked.. but right up the road there is a TINY lake called bog pond. And in 1998 I caught a near record trout there. Twice as big as any I ever caught from the big lakes.
I grew up in Show Low, used to cruise the Deuce on weekends, tube on Porter Mountain and party at Bills Bar (now gone). If you want to see on of the most beautiful views ever go to Alpine, Hannagans Meadow and the Blue Vista.
I've been following your channel for a short time now. I find it interesting, but I feel it could be so much more if you would take more time exploring & showing the areas you travel through. Why the rush? It seems like just a quick drive through & if we blink we will miss it.
We are from Western North Carolina and will be spending the month of February again this year. Staying in Scottsdale but bringing the camper so we can spend time in Tucson, bisbee, tombstone and Patagonia. If you have any must see recommendations please let me know.
Thanks for the video. We live in Yuma and are going to explore these areas this summer. I've been fishing the High Sierras, Idaho, and Montana for over 40 years. With the price of fuel its time to explore the north and North eastern parts of Arizona! Looking foreword to it. Thanks again, Karl
Great travel vlogs. Honestly, I put these on while I’m working and it really puts me at peace. The atmospheric music you’ve set to the drone and driving shots pair wonderfully. Thank you - from Milwaukee 👊🖖
It does get cold in the month of June! He is telling the truth. How could this be when you are so close to Phoenix! My brother moved from the Odessa/Midland area to Greer/Springerville. He said the weather was 9 months of winter and 3 months of waiting for summer, yet we could drive to Phoenix via Salt River Canyon in a little over 2 hours, amazing.
Has anyone else been to this waterfall right off of the 60 outside of globe/Miami. I can't remember the mile marker though. But its a huge waterfall that can be from the freeway
OK this got to me I researched a little. Mc Nary was the area where the train in the 60s took excursions up the hill. James McNary transferred thousands of Louisiana black folks to Az. and hired Indians on a company store town of timber processing and shipping on his spur to the east west connection. Gramps was rail lawyer nearly half century and the old steam train was the last breath of the dying era . I dont recall the name of the outfit . Apache Excursion Railway maybe or how long it ran but I was a passenger.
Drove truck delivering windows to all the small ma and pah stores all over Arizona, this was my favorite route except for the UFOs trying to get me at 3 oclock in the morning driving through total dark forest kinda spooky 😂😂😂😂
There are allot of us attempting to watch your videos but we are not just tourists We are in fact looking for a new home area Please... let us know about necessary facilities in each town... Doctors - Hospitals - Food - Groceries - ETC PLEASE

Does Lakeside get allot of snow... widow alone? Medical? etc.
Watching from Washington State. I may have to come and give this area of Arizona a look. It is my kind of country. I grew up in Missoula Montana.
Thank you I spent six years of my life in Arizona in show low I loved it there
It's interesting how quick the landscape goes from a lower hot desert to high mountain alpine.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Love AZ
Watched from Georgia. Thanks

I live in Mesa, love going to Pinetop Lakeside, Greer, and do a lot of camping near Mt. Baldy. Love this beautiful state!
That music in the back ground is heavenly i love it

Do me a favor Cali, leave your liberal left wing, high tax and high regulations back in cali
@@steveoconnell8113 do everyone a favor and don't pre judge people. It's broad pre judgement like that which is why this country has such division
Just bought a house in lakeside next to rainbow lake. Getting out of Cali when I retire!!!!!!
please dont vote liberal
If you’re bringing your politics, don’t come.
Stay in Cali. We don’t want you.
Well happy retirement. When you get there. !!!
I love this part of Arizona
The owners of those buildings in Seneca intentionally burned those buildings but that is a different topic. Another great video Jeff - thank you good work Sir!
Love Show Low
We live here in Pinetop-Lakeside. We love where we live but Greer is a very special place. Good fishing there too.

Oh wow the canyon has a new bridge since I last came thru there...lived in Pinetop and had family in Tucson back in '70's
Hi! Beautiful mountain scenery and charming towns. I went to Showlow last year. I dined at the Buffalo Bills Tavern and Grill. Good food and nice atmosphere there. Loved the drive to there from Payson. Thank you for sharing. Happy travels!

We use to climb underneath the old bridge, and underneath the old bridge was a cliff we use to jump off of with visitors taking photos.
It's crazy that a guy can drive a couple of hours and go from desert to snow at mt olive I believe. I can't take the heat anymore
Mount Lemon
Watching from Vernon Arizona
Beautiful!
Thanks for this video I've been curious about the white mountain area. Never been.

In Greer, eat at Edelweiss and there are a few lodging places that are amazing, like the Red Setter Inn. 🤗

Love Greer!!
I've actually lived in both Switzerland, and Pinetop. There is no comparison to Switzerland anywhere in the White Mountains.
I agree. I lived in Switzerland as well, in Geneva. I laughed out loud when he said that. Absolutely no comparison.

It’s actually pronounced “Hawn-Duh” (Hon Dah Casino).
Watching from Tromsø, Norway. Google it ;) Amazing video by the way! Keep on doing a great job.
