Super views! Like the way you DWD. You keep the subject in view yet wrap around showing the whole landscape so we can see the entire area. Nice shots! And your historical narration is great! Lots of good info.
Another great journey with you. Thanks. It was a beautiful looking storm. I am glad I was not in it. The only time I camped in the White Mountains it stormed, too. It must be a White Mountain thing. Great sheep video.
Well done son. Great work as always. You are pushing that little Rav to the extreme.😙 Traveled much of that area over the years, it's very beautiful country. Really enjoy reading all of your comments from others. Love ya...
Thanks pop, couldn’t have done a lot of this without your knowledge of the area and showing me all of this growing up. Love you and appreciate your love for nature as much as I do.
I love the white mountains of Arizona. Another great video Cody. I've got my first multi night excursion coming up. Can't wait! I'll be crossing some of your tracks from your kaibab video. Different camping locations though. Keep it up man
I’m glad I can help point you in the right direction of some bad ass areas maybe you and I need to meet up on the trail one of these days and get in a nice long route
@@WhitedogoverlandThat definitely needs to happen at some point, for sure. My nephew is coming out this month and wanted to go camping while here, so I figured what better place than the North Rim? Might also explore white pocket while up there as well, since it's so close.
New subscriber here … 2nd video I am watching. I have a 2018 RAV4 Adventure series with AWD and the naturally aspirated 2.5 L 4 CYL. I haven’t really had it offloading at all yet, but I look forward to doing so. It’s paid for so no monthly payments. I’ve been adding lights and simple changes at this time. Enjoying your video content. Stay safe out there.❤🎉😊
Really glad I’m finding the rav4 viewer base. The cars rock, I found it’s limit on this trip several times. It’s just enough to tackle most back country roads out there. No crawler but it can manage
I love your videos, especially the history behind the areas you explore. Not many people pay attention to the history, and I would love to learn more about the places I explore, where do you find the in depth information about the history of the area?
Really happy to hear when my viewers can appreciate the history the same way I do. When I pick a route, I usually scour the web for any relative history. I’m also a part of the Arizona historical society and their database is awesome for anything Arizona related.
Great content. Your stuff gets me through the day stuck in an office. Can you tell me what roof basket and cross bars you got? Also any advice on getting a swag? Looking for something for my Crosstrek Wilderness for stuff like this.
So glad to hear that man, only thing I aspire to do is bring a bit of nature into someone’s day. The roof rack is a rhino rack, I bought it for $200 and the basket was some cheapo off Amazon, does the trick. As far as swags, check out the 23zero bags they are nice!
My wife and I live in Rio Rancho NM Not sure how we found it but the Rolfe Hoyer FS campground we love it. It is an awesome place to head into the White Mtns there is literally a road next to the campground that take up towards crescent lake. It has now become our favorite area to camp. this May we had a herd of about 20 elk rite in the campground
Made my first trip up to that area a few weekends ago. Camped at Buffalo Crossing and actually fished that same spot you guys got rained on. It was actually pretty empty up there that weekend. I want to get back up there soon. Definitely a beautiful area.
My boyfriend and I are new to Arizona (Sierra Vista area), and he is always looking for new overlanding places to go. He said that he and some of his buddies will more than likley go to the White mountians. Thank you for the information. 😊
Have you been to Broken Dipper Ranch? It is at the end of Ash Creek outside of Willcox Arizona. It is possibly the roughest most remote road that was cut full width with a tractor. There is an old Ford stuck out there for the last 20 years. If you cant drive out, there is no recovery. Can not be towed. There is a lake at the end of the road. It is amazing untouched desert.
@@Whitedogoverland Take Fort grant road outside Willcox, past the tomato greenhouses go straight. Take Ash Creek road, pass the meadow, up the rock trail. Broken Dipper has a gate and a large sign that says "This is the only entrance and exit. One way in, one way out."
Oh yeah most definitely. This area is perfect for your rig, nothing too challenging if you don’t want to get into that, but plenty of options if you do
Goal zero makes a charging cable that plugs into our cigarette lighter. It keeps everything chaged up while driving. Its about $30. We also have the nomad 100 foldable solar panel.
The quality of your productions continues to skyrocket. I’ve been watching since your very early videos. How about maps of your video locations? Many of us would appreciate that addition.
I really appreciate you checking in and giving that feed back. Awesome to hear from people that have been supporting for so long. I try not to put a lot of that out public with my videos getting so much exposure, something deep inside would hate to see a lot of these spots become more populated. I do have the patreon where I share routes, and will share maps if you message me on social media or on patreon!
Another great one! Do you have any lift on that Rav or did you just stuff the biggest tires you could under it? I have a 19 LE with TRD springs and a readylift spacer lift. Every time I take it out with a group people get all excited to see what it can do and are usually always impressed. I'm only on 235/65r17s bit wanna bump it up to at least a 235/70r17 for a solid 30 inch tire. Also A Sand County Almanac should be required reading in school.
You’re basically running the exact same lift and tires as myself! Soon enough, I will probably be sizing up to 235 or 245/70 and a nice Dobinson suspension lift. These cars are absolutely killer. It’s not your standard 4 x 4, but they will get the job done indeed.
@Whitedogoverland i thought about a 245/70 there are definitely more tire options than the 235 but I am not above a set of arisuns lol might still but I want to do as little trimming as possible lol
I have an Ecoflow Delta 2 but my buddy has the Pecron LFP600 and i don't think you can beat the value of the Pecron. He's had one issue with it and Pecron repaired it. He uses it daily. He lives full time in his truck camper and works remotely so power is a necessity for him.
What lift is on this and what size tires? Been wanting to do a mild lift on my GFs Rav4 prime, she has seen a few videos and wants to take her own vehicle out instead of my truck.
It’s just a 40mm spacer lift, 235/65 I believe, came with the car. I’ll be doing a dobinson lift and sizing up to probably 245/75 when I have some money!

I try to tell the story through portrayal of the landscape. Appreciate that recognition!
Love how capable that car is. Along with the old rav.
Shows you really dont need a crazy buid to have a good time.
For 99% of trails a little crossover like this is totally adequate especially most of the trails up at high elevation.
Love these long haul trips. We enjoy the history narration. This was beautiful trip.
Thank you for your appreciation of history, it was beautiful indeed!
Thanks for showing me another part of the White Mountains that I need to visit!! Great video as always.

Was the actual Terry Flat loop closed?? We lived in Alpine several years and the Terry Flat loop takes you on top of Escudilla Mountain! A must do!
No it wasn’t… terry flat is closed these days, used to work it’s way up to the look out tower I believe but the road is long over grown!
Such a sick area. I def would like to check that spot out.
I have a Bluetti AC180 power bank, and I highly recommend it !
I just had a company send me one, Aferiy is the brand, although I know those bluettis are solid!
As always top notch.
