“Rap now is a circus of clowns. A lot of lip from cliques I’d prolly rap circles around” sooo many quotables from Royce on this joint. One the illest songs EVER.
Don't insult clowns, even they don't waste money on cars.
@@KrAOLo Even clowns need clown cars

So trust me, I'm as live as it gets
Preem is the realest. Shit, he don't even make the damn episode if he can't find the ORIGINAL disc! This man right here is my hero!
And you know Preem literally has thousands of discs. He should have had a sponsorship with a disc manufacturer.
@@rodneycarterakaice2281 He should have a backup, at least I hope he does. 😅
@@rodneycarterakaice2281 definitely. I hope AKAI is givin him some bread
"Me and Premier, we kinda the same in ways/
We both speak wit our hands in dangerous ways"
Love those two bars
This beat put Royce in another conversation.
Rite
Word
Just think Boom dropped 20 years ago. The combo of Royce and Primo are timeless!
@@shonuffshowstopper damn. I’ve been listening/co-signin/defending’ Royce for that long?? Time flies
Conversation to/with who(m)?
Suggestions for the next one:
Mos Def - Mathematics
Big Daddy Kane - Show And Prove
Gang Starr - The Planet
D'Angelo - Devils Pie
Biggie - Ten Crack Commandments
Rakim - When I B On The Mic
KRS One - Rappa'z R N Dainja
We really need "show & proove" behind the scenes 😀(which was Jay-Z debut as well)
Yo what about Rock Stars by Non-Phixion? That joints dope & you keepin it N.Y.C RAW.
Next one should be "Invincible" by CNN. That's the beat that they probably got instead of "Boom".
AZ- the format
@@kylehardy7519 channel 10 prodced by lord finess is dope too
Easily one of my favorite Preemo instrumentals. This got me hooked on his obscure usage of samples for sure. Completely addictive to the ear. Like Kick In The Door
Kick in the door is such a banger as well holy sht
Yes'm, one of mine too.....maybe one of my face instros period.
First time I heard this sss like fuuuuck 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember I heard the sample playing Mafia 2😂 the 50s had great music
Kick in the door is not an obscure sample
Can we all agree that Lady of Rage is one of most underrated female Hip hop artist of all time. She doesn't get enough mention...that first track featuring lady of Rage on doggy style album was hard... thanks Preemo !
No, Bahamedia is.
@@JoeyCrackization they said "ONE of the most underrated"... What's the problem?
@@JoeyCrackization "one of". Is that really hard 2 comprehend, bro?
@@DJPsychoDTM Yes.
Lady of Rage is fuckkkkingg ass
I'll never get bored of this beat, Preemo's the GOAT
I’m pretty bored of it
@@essgee4225 who cares?
@@antraxsrr I do
This man is a hip hop encyclopaedia. Could listen to his story’s all day. Preemo is the 🐐
Shout out to Royce. A true grown lyricist.
🔥
Simply the coolest producer in this world.
Suggestion: Full Clip
I'm sure preemo must be saving full clip for a special episode.
One of the greatest joints ever in the history of the genre or any genre for that matter. Absolutely incredible.
Made my year hearing that PRhyme 3 is being worked on. Primo has always been my #1 producer and Royce well lets just say he is in my top 5 GOAT list. Being from Michigan dont hurt either. Now if we could just get a Bad Meets Evil 2.
Man. How can you not love Premier? Just the greatest guy ever. Also, the "Nooooo" part had me crying
Boom Boom bam goddaaaaamn, what a classic
How about "Mental Stamina" from Jeru's first album, featuring Afu-Ra?? That beat was bananas!
Ohhh yeahhhhh 🔥
Damn this one about to be legendary
I said the same thing 😂
Beat is so dope and works perfectly with Royce's delivery, lyricism, and poisonous pen.
I love CNN but I'm glad they showed up late.
Premier has an incredible memory and it clearly helps him remember the intricacies of everything associated with his music, from the beats and sounds to the people involved. He could do about 200 of these easily and not ever have to repeat himself. So glad he is sharing his musical stories with the masses!
Love how Preemo always shouts out everyone involved and shows so much respect
The version with the scratches is the best! Classics after classics.
This track is full of quotables... royce is in the all time top 10, for those replaying gta 3 remastered are reminded too
Yep. First place I remember hearing it was GTA
One of my favorite Premier beats ever. One of the dopest verses Royce ever spit. Found the 12” single on vinyl with the beautiful Game girl on the cover… a must have ✊🏾
Man I love this series of memory lane joints, seeing preemo’s process and learning the story behind all these. This is one of those slices of life that is so priceless.
Waiting for the day Premo let’s us in to see him produce a beat / sample searching and chopping .🙏🏼
Check out mark ronsons new doc can't remember the name but it shows preem do a beat from the start
@@Cassanova86 oh nice. Will check it. Listened to their Fader podcast the other day which was great
@@Cassanova86 You mean watch the sound with mark ronson?
Like the beginning of Classic.
WONT EVER HAPPEN!
This series is so good. How does Preemo remember all this?!?!
Coz they all his babies
I'm a very very very amateur musician that mostly writes shitty pop punk music for my own enjoyment, but anytime I listen to something I wrote and recorded years ago I could tell you exactly where I was when I wrote it, where I was when I recorded it, and other significant things that were going on in my life at the time. Each song is like a time capsule, for better or worse.
@@mastod0n1 For sure. Since I date every rhyme my pen writes I can even tell you date & time-ish(early morn, late morn, early afternoon, late aft, evening, late night)
8:20 now that'd be a great voice sample for another DJ Premier banger lol
That Willie Hutch The Mack Soundtrack poking out just adds to the ambiance
I remember hearing boom summer 2000 on hot 97 on the stretch Armstrong and bobbito late night I was like this shit is dope 🔥🔥
One of the best Premo beats, one of the Royce songs…one of the best Hip-hop songs period. Can’t deny the chemistry between these two. 💥💥💥
Absolute classic! Featured on GTA 3 on PS2 it reached an audience it deserved! 🔥
One of the greatest beats ever!!
This is an amazing series, it’s great to bring back these true hip hop classics 💪
The suspense soon as pREMIER loaded the floppy disc so we could all hear
RUclips hit me with a ad

Nice one yo just like a DJ to drop that ad in right when you did lol
You went from Royce to Lady of Rage to Beyonce to the legendary Jody Watley with this one. Love the stories.
One of my favorite tracks of all time. Still gets played til this day. Also my first song i ever heard from Royce and been a fan ever since. His growth has been more than a pleasure to watch. Thank's Preem, you're legendary.
Now we need "Mathematics"
Definitely one of mye favorite Preemo beats. Looking forward for this one

I'm surprised of no M.O.P. yet.
They must be the 2nd biggest Premier collaborators after Guru. But I'm positive they will be here soon.
I pray for follow instructions!
@@hampelmann7574 Yes! "you know the name!" "M bomb O bomb P!" So good. There is an epic R kelly prediction on that track at around 1min. People already weren't happy with him back in 2003.
I've been banging this since it first came out. And never stopped. This is Royce at his best.
thats what that song is!!!!!! its sampled so much. if Royce dropped an R&b drake fans would start crying.
Boom & Hip Hop are my favourite of their collaborations
This is gonna be legendary
I'd love to see
Paula Perry - Extra Extra
Sonja Blade - Look 4 The Name
The X-Ecutioners - Premier's X-ecution
We love the "So Wassup?" series, keep them coming Preem!!!
Thank you DJ Premier
The song that made me a Premo and Royce fan in the early 00's. Salute king, I can't wait for PRhyme 3.
i might be in the minority, but i actually prefer "Hip Hop" over "Boom", something about the beat that so soothing and it comes from my favorite Royce album.
I loved that record!
Hip hop is coo but for some reason Boom has aged better and hits harder. For me anyway.
HipHop is dope video made me buy the 💿 cd.🔥💣🧨💎⛏🎧🎤👀I saw Premo and Royce perform this in person! Boom 💥🔥💣🔥💣🧨💎⛏🎧🎤👀
The man comes and drops tales of legend as if it was nothing...jeez P!
This is one of my all-time favorite "slept on" classic records. GDAMN this will forever get bumped in the truck.
Boom is one of those records that comes on and I'm like DAAAAAAAAMMNNNN
This story is ill . Of course the track is crazy , love the Premo sound.
8:04--When I first heard this version, I was disgusted. Like, "Why would they do that? WHY?" Glad to see that Premier felt the same way, and that version never got as much play...thank God.
I was literally just thinking the exact same thing. I wasn't a fan of that version, and neither was Preem. Good enough for me.
One of the best beats ever made and every bar is a quotable. CLASSIC!
PRhym 3?!?! I always appreciate these videos. Real hip hop
Wow CNN on Boom 💥 that would have been crazy too. Royce got busy on this though.
🫡 to Preem and Royce for keeping this shit alive
Loss of words!!! One of my all- time favorites‼️ 💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Preme! We need Mos Def - Mathematics and Nas - Nas Is Like
Thanks for the Detroit shout-out, Premier. You are forever a music LEGEND👍
Definitely a classic
This may just be my favourite Preemo beat ever. So dope, and Royce killed this shit
Anoither great episode. I really hope Gangstarr's "Skills" will one day become a vid like this!
PHRYME 3 COMING ???? CAN'T WAIT FOR IT 🔥🔥🔥
This and "Hip Hop" are CLASSICS...so glad, y'all formed PRhyme! This used to be, my ringtone and the Hip Hop intro was my notification! #Respect
PRhyme 3 is coming! Oh shit. Dope story on the timeless Boom record!
Mind blown with the midori/Jodi connection
Two of my favs in the game. Definitely a classic banger.
Before most people knew this was Royce da 5'9, I remember playing it on my old radio show and getting called up numerous times the following week for the "tick tick boom one" lol and some actually asked for the one that starts with the '60 Minutes' theme in clubs lol
Premier! Boss like behavior, by Premier givin that joint 2 Royce!! Them boys was ABSENT, and Royce was On-TiME
Always 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥we need a Jay z story
This was 1 of my FAVORITE Tracks to hear on GTA 3.🏎️
Boom is one of the best songs and beats ever.

“Monotony” -Afu Ra, that’s a dope beat and scratches !
I seriously can not say how much I love these!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the hardest beats ever.
PRhyme. Premier and Royce or Producer and Rapper. Two GOATs of the genre and culture.
One of the best beats of all time
I loved this track back then but was a young kid in the Netherlands , had never heard of DJ Premier or Royce but I LOVED this track.
Just recently I found out it was Royce & Preemo
BOOM! another great video Preem! That track is pure dope on wax. I hope HIP HOP like this never dies because this is what you RAP over, a track like this. Much respect to you Premier and don't stop what your doing man.
I am a DJ and I used to spin a lot in clubs when Boom came out, I guarrantee that everytime I got it on I had to play it multiple times because the crowd went WILD. And sometimes it wasn't even a strictly Hip-Hop crowd, but the beat was so hot that everyone felt it. Proud to own the original 12" to this day.
"One way or another they're both gonna get bangers" 😁
Yessir! EASTSIDE Detroit on the check in.
2000 classic.
