This could be an HBO series. Thank you, Primo, for giving it to the people!
Nah its good on RUclips
Not at all. It's raw when it's on Preemos channel. HBO will have cuts, scripted versions and censors which will spoil everything.
Jay telling him the exact vocal chops is such a cool detail 👍
GOAT $h!t
I hope you guys are enjoying the series so far. 50 EPISODES TOGETHER!
Been enjoying it since first one! Salute to that 💾! Amazing his in each record!
The series is dope, but it’ll be better if Premier hit the pads and showed u how each individual track on the 60 sound like. Like how Alchemist showed on his Masterclass episode. Broke down the beats he made for Nas & Schoolboy Q. Kinda boring just hearing a 7 min story and nothing in the 60 itself 🤷🏻♂️
@@bambeatz yes bruh!! supa star episode he put the floppy in and said "and this... is what comes out" and they just played the record. like doggg if you're gonna show me the floppy I need to hear that unmixed SP1200 S950 goodness. love the stories regaardless
@@bambeatz That’s what Lord Finesse does with his Sp1200. I be like damn! He did that with two sounds!
Haven't missed one yet.
DJ Premier is one of the greatest producers in the history of hip-hop.
Premier getting his Roc pendant is dope, long overdue, and well deserved. Such a minted Hip Hop classic.
Yeah When do we get our Gangsta pendants? I mean as loyal fans. Peace one love
💯
These are arguably some of Jay's hardest lyrics he ever wrote
I COULD SEE HIS FEARS THROUGH HER TEARS KNOW SHE WISHING WE WAS STILL CLOSE
TOP 5 BAR OF ALL TIME
@@IknowMoreThanYou agree
@@IknowMoreThanYoucould u explain it ion get it
Like how DJ Premier gives flowers to everyone involved in each project.
3:51 That Foxy Brown ‘punch in’ 😂
this was the comment i came for lmao
How he forget about her... she should have been second to remember after BIG lol
😂😂😂
Yep, came for this. Left satisfied.
Yooo😭
Damn Jay came up with what the scratches would be, bro was different from the beginning, true artist type shi
I feel SO comforted hearing Preemo say "WE GOT A LOOOOOOOT OF EPISODES TO DO" like I ain't get enough of these!!! 💯
👌👌🎤
I'm waiting for Jay-Z a million questions rhyme no more episode. Two beats on one song
Maaaan...I still can listen to that Rhyme no More instrumental on repeat. 🔥🔥🔥
@@lajikn9ne945 same here
One of the best premo beats for sure
These are two of his best beats
“A million…”
About freaking time Premier! Ive been waiting on Jigga records! And please dont let this be the last either. We need the story behind A Million too.
Ay ikr same here i been asking for a million in a while ✋️
And we definitely need the story behind "Bring It On" feat. Sauce Money & Big Jaz
@@dannybx78 and So Ghetto
@@dannybx78 Most definitely!
@@KSoloLoso Yep. Hopefully he can gives us that too
The HARDEST joint on that album. PERIOD!
Nah! It is *BROOKLYN'S FINEST!!* 😉
@@hip2thabone_da_sticky1 ain’t no nigga
💯
You gotta do *Bring It On* featuring Jaz-O, and Sauce Money from *Reasonable Doubt* also. Them lyrics and beat was bananas!!!
And fat joe was sampled..
@@marcsantos5176and the main sample to "Bring It On" was sampled from a movie, but no one to this day knows which one. It was not sampled from an original record. Facts.
I remember as a kid I didn't really pay attention to producers, only later as a teen I started getting interested in who made the beats. When I looked up who was the producer of my fav songs it was almost always preemo and of course my fav joint on one of my fav albums reasonable doubt was also a premier joint. Preemo is probably the most important person in the history of rap. This guy made the tracks that defined the careers of most of the best rappers of all time.
💯💯
Fam, not sure what era you came up in….but the 12” vinyl sleeves, and cassette jackets then cd inserts was considered the icing on the cake! Especially when they had to give credit for the samples! Salute
Man in my teens as soon as I would buy a CD or cassette I would let it play while I'm reading all of the production credits..... That's one of the things I miss in this digital era
yeah u right. i think alot of people just within the last 15 yrs or soo just started really taking notice to "the producer". this whole era is like producer appreciation at this point
Dj premier the greatest producer ever ever ever simple
Classic joint! The other tracks he produced on Reasonable Doubt (Bring It On and Friend or Foe) were also bangers
Bumped into DJ Premier at Roosevelt Field in Long Island not too long ago. Super humble dude, gave me a pound and chopped it up with him for a bit. My fav producer ever! D’Evils is a masterpiece.
he should get a floppy disk emulator and write all these to an image. Disk degradation is a thing and these are super important to history.
I just thinking literally this morning how we need a Jay episode. I was hoping for Friend or Foe 98, but I’m def hype for this one
One of Primo's dopest beats ever. And one of Jay's best songs ever.
In my opinion. “D’Evils” is THEE single BEST Rap song EVER created. In Hip Hop history. By anyone. Absolute perfection.
There are lots of more iconic, and more impactful songs, but none better.
It’s dope but there’s many Biggie, Nas & Wu songs that are way better
ehh disagree but it's a great song for sure.
Disagreed heavily, i don't think it's Jays best song but fair opinion.
i get chu
A Timeless Classic. I remember coppin Reasonable Doubt from Nobody Beats The Wiz the day after graduation. On my way to school. I was listening to this album and I was mind blown. Every track was fire. When I got to school I saw my boy in the hallway. It was none other than Pain In Da Ass! I said YOOOOOO YOU SET IT OFF! I made him listen to my CD & his seeing his smile hearing himself was everything. Now it's historic! Hands down one of the best albums of all time in any genre.
Please do one on "Pitch Black - It's All Real"!!!!
Seeing DJ Premier in a Roc A Fella chain is so great. It’s like it was meant to be the whole time. I hope more people discover this amazing series through this video. Bless.
Yes! 🙏
Wooow man Preemo always humble... Producers seem to like Jay more than the other rappers which means those rappers never had time to get to know HOV personally.. Salute
The fact that Jay specifically chose those samples for the hook was always very interesting to me...
Yeah bc they got his ass in the end
One of the all-time greatest rap tunes. So amazing. Preemo is a fucking LEGEND!
"Dear God, i wonder can you save me?" - Snoop Dogg
2:16 that was actually THE first rap record EVER to sneak inside the borders of USSR back in 1989 I think. Without that Technotronic song, I dont even know if we would be even familiar with your music, Preemo.
Gotta love Hip-Hop it's universal ❤
One of the best songs on the album for real.
Great song. My favorite is A Million and One/Rhyme No More
Vol 1 is slept on
“Ready when you are Prem”
The album alone was fire Dj Premier was icing on the cake just like what he did for Nas album straight drop hip hop📝💾📀💿📼🖥🎤🎧🎼🎵🎶
Nas is like still gets play in 2023..Listen to his song through my Headphones.
Yesss Sirrrr I wasn't sure if he was going to do Hov joints because of how restricted he is of his music. Let's hope So Ghetto will get it's own video too 🔥
Nah hov not gon front on preme
Exactly, we’ll said
I don't think he own anything from reasonable doubt .. Dame owns it.
Dame owns 33%
I think he owns the majority of reasonable doubt if not all it was apart of the def jam deal and then they went to court over it but I'm just speculating
One of the dopest Jay tracks ever!
Forreal, one of his best song ever. It had everything.
I'm from New Orleans and DEvils sample come from my cousin Allen Toussaint song "Go Back Home"....Mary J also sampled this beat on her "Share My World" album
Preem what about the Nore joint? Was that post floppy disk era?
It's cool to hear stories like these on social media all you usually here is Jay-Z didn't do this Jay-Z did that but when you hear stories like this it shows that people just be reaching for something to hate on the fact that he brought together all the producers that helped him make Reasonable Doubt and got them all rock chain pendants is so respectable
SHOW ME YOURE DEVIL N I'LL SHOW YOU MINE...
FINALLY A Jigga Track. I always love this one. It sold me in to believe that Reasonable Doubt was a dope album.
DAAAAAAMN, yes premo
Perfect song to start the Jay-Z series 👌
D’Evils is my fav of your beats, right up there with Skillz
Brings back memories from high school days mid 90s ...best hip hop time ever
Dj premier is the greatest producer of all time.
Hip Hop producer at least fosho
My favorite rap album of all time. Just edged out Cuban Linx. Both albums were like listening to a Scorsese film based in Marcy projects and Park Hill, respectively.
One of the dopest songs ever by one of the most influential djs ever to the culture!!
Yes! Can'[t wait for this one and the Hand It Down Intro from the Vol 2....Hard Knock Life album
The 2nd verse of D'Evils is some of the best rapping in rap history.
A living legend
Ooooh shit....one of best songs ever!!
This record and Cashmere Thoughts were my two favorites from this album. Thank you DJ Premier for doing this over and over again. I do have a few requests that I would love to see/hear the story. M.O.P.'s Bloody Murdah, Gangstarr's The Rep Grows Bigger, Sauce Money's Intruder Alert and Dilated Peoples Clockwork.
Be thankful that DJ Premier is even talking...Let alone the samples and everything else for years this guy never talked at all...He barely spoke on Gang Starr albums 🙏💯👌
Technotronics Pump Up the Jam was MY ONLY TAPE when I was 5 years old , playing NON STOP on my older sister's boombox. Pale skinned kid doing the running man.
Big up from Africa (Mozambique)
Its good to know the story behind of ur hits....
ANY TIME SUM1 WHO APPRECIATES THE ART OF MAKING HIP-HOP BEING FRM. TEXAS!! OR MARS!! LOVE YOU PREMO!!!!!!!
He needs to produce for Jay-Z again I miss their collaborations together.
One of Jay's best songs
When preem and J link up, magic happens. This track and Afu-Ra Defeat, my 2 favorite preem joints of all time.
That was dope one take Hov, now it’s anywhere anytime Hov, even ova tha phone. Gotta give respect to Jay and DJ Premier is a living legend
This is one of Hov's beat tracks. I wasn't messing with him, until I heard the full album. Feeling It and Dead Pres's were cool, but they weren't really making me a fan. Then I heard D'Evils, and I realized that Jay had something that I could mess with. "We used to fight for building blocks/ Now we fight for blocks with buildings/ That make a killing". That line is one of the best ever. I'm Christian now, but the line where he said "I never prayed to God/I prayed to Gotti", was also another bar that I messed with back then, but I can't mess with that now.
Shoutout to Prodigy ‼️
I would put those floppy disk into a vault. Those things are gold to the history of Hiphop.
I COULD SEE HIS FEARS THROUGH HER TEARS KNOW SHE WISHING WE WAS STILL CLOSE
TOP 5 BAR OF ALL TIME

Spirit cooking hip hop. Out of Shadows.
We need a half-hour episode or longer to talk about Friend or Foe 1 and 2
DJ premier never ages. Man looks the same for 20 years
This series is so amazing we needed to hear these stories this is legendary 😤🔥🏆
My fav song fom my fav album, my fav MC and my fav producer!!
D evils was Jay z signature song. He told you exactly who he was.
