I am 47 years old. The impact Preemo has had in my life is beyond words. I don't know if he would read comments, but this man is the GOAT and is so appreciated. The soundtrack of my life.
This song is nothing but hip hop. Party rhymes, smooth lyrics, great bars, a straight up fire beat. You can dance, nod your head, or spit your own to this song.
Everything about this track is CLASSIC. A couple years ago on Twitter, I told Greg Nice that he prolly has the best opening verse ever on this song. He agreed.
Oh shoot, thanks, you got me about to go blow up Buggin' out now, lol. I've been bangin' "God Lives Through" almost everyday in my car for the last few weeks. Yes, Tribe, no doubt!
I have a lot of CDs from my. Childhood and still in perfect condition! Of.course record labels such as relativity, loud, mercury, wild pitch, chrysalis, Elektra, pendulum, and EMI are defunct labels I can get a lot of $ for them but NOT SELLING!!!!

It’s so cool getting the real stories behind the tracks. It’s tough to hear how many RIPs there are. The people may be in the next world but the artists and the music are eternal.
Shout out to my man Drake Goodrich (rest in peace) who brought the DWYCK cassingle to science class in ‘92 and played it the entire class period. I was blown away, but also confused because I had Daily Operation. “WHAT IS THIS???” was my reaction. Two years later when they put it on “Hard To Earn” the song STILL felt new. That’s how long records lasted back then. True definition of a classic.
I love how Preem keeps giving Guru love on every one of these. That’s real love man. You can feel it! Absolutely love all these stories! Thank you so much to the God Premier!

Dwyck was everywhere. I grew up in the Bronx in the 1980s and 1990s. I remember as a teen in the 90's. I use to live on Watson and Manor, that song will never get old and was always being played in our hood. It was always on the radio.
I’m a UK rapper and producer that goes way back and I remember losing my mind when I first heard this track. So fresh and funky no matter when you hear it. The drum break is one of those classics that everyone was using at the time, but this is one of the best renditions. It got in my head so much, that when making beats, I have to try hard not to bite it. I had DWYCK and Faking the Funk on repeat back in the day! Peace n love to the whole squad and R.I.P to those who passed ❤ 👊🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
As much as DWYCK is a timeless masterpiece, knowing that Grand Puba Maxwell was in the studio when this song was being recorded conjurs up how much more bananas it would've been if Puba spat some bars on this track, taking this work of perfection to another impossible level...
Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is!!! LEGENDARY!! RIP GURU!! One of my favourites!! Definition of 90's era classic rap songs!! Thank you Premooo!!!
I love how preemo takes the time to talk about and thank so many of the artists and people he worked with at the time...one of the best producers of all time and he's still completely down to earth and appreciative of everybody around him.
I was an intern at D&D studios from 98 -99 and then an executive at D&D records from 2000 till its closing in 2008. I was very young when I asked Primo in the studio what “DWYCK” meant and he told me specifically that it stood for, “Don’t You Wish You Could Know!” I was just a stupid, young intern at that time and everyone laughed when he said it. Till this day, that is what I believe it means.
This song takes me back to my high school days and playing football. This was our pregame song in the locker room to get us ready to play. I played the entire “Hard to Earn” album to death that year. I still play it to death today. The album is a classic.
Probably one of the most iconic songs in hip hop history. Thank you so much for this history lesson and thank you so much for finally doing everyone's favorite song.

One of the greatest hip hop songs ever got its name from a joke. Who would have knew? Always thought it was named after the sound of the stratch on a record. That era was so creative. We will never get that level of creativity in today's music and world. I always wish 90s hip hop didn't peak so fast. By the time we got to the end of the 90s, they did everything

It always amazed me how Premier not being from New York could capture New York so vividly in his beats.
New York embraced Preem and he architected the sound of NyC culture
Great question...still haven't figured it out.
New York originated hip hop but not genius #thesouthgotsomething2say
NYC was HipHop, HipHop was NYC before it took over the world. Now HipHop is world wide, but it wasn't always like that.
You don't have to be from NY to be great at producing music.
This song is nothing but hip hop. Party rhymes, smooth lyrics, great bars, a straight up fire beat. You can dance, nod your head, or spit your own to this song.
