Fucking love my weekly history lesson with Preemo! I could listen for hours.
💯 yes!
Need to be a documentary about the good old days.
That House of Reps track was fire, too.
Shits a banger
One of my fav Luda songs ever. I remember hearing this and instantly falling in love with it. Luda is severely underrated! Keep it up, Preemo!
Luda is underrated? What you smokin’ on?!
@@CANControlGRAFFITI I got mo cheese then provolone
Can't wait for D'Evils, A Million and One, Memory Lane, Golden Child, None of Ya'll better.....endless classics!!
Memory Lane 🔥🔥🔥
A million and one was heat I'm waiting on Nas is like
Goldyn Chyld killed it all!
D’Evils is going to be a classic episode. I’ve been loving finding these preemi songs again.

Luda got hot then kept hot and now stays flames on the big screen, a ludicrous success story - salute!
This was a good one. Cris killed it.
Cris and Chris
Yooo this is what i'm talking about! Love all the stories we get to hear from classic records in the 90s. But highlighting the contemporary stuff is just as fun and refreshing. Especially when its Premo working with people we'd never expect. Another smooth killer. Luda lost his mind on this record.
I feel like second beat (the ludacris one) sounds legendary. That doesn't mean the first version was bad or anything like that, but that MVP beat is simply amazing. I got chills listening to these samples. Greetings from Poland. You're the best, Preemo 👍
This song is part of my cardio playlist!
Preemo laced that joint. I copped that album which is dope off the strength of M.V.P. A straight head nodder. Luda is definitely a Legendary lyricist and I don’t think he gets enough props. I remember when he first came out with what’s your fantasy I thought he was going to be just a commercial rapper. He got my respect when he ripped a freestyle of Rap City I was like he has bars. This joint here is definitely one of Preemo’s all time beats. The beat that went to The House Of Reps was just as Fyah 🔥🔥🔥
100%
Do Pitch Black - It's All Real next! That was the perfect bait and switch single, haha.
Hell yes
Not the bait and switch lol. U mean as in first single was fire and rest of the album was trash???
Lolol. For real. Like back in 90s Question mark Asylum "look away" single...rest of album...sheez
Pitch Black may have spent their entire budget on Premo!!! I would have produced the whole album for $150k plus 4 points publishing lol.
@@NetworkBruh lol yeah. It's all real was FIRE. Album was eh. Haven't revisited in years but was Mad disappointed at the time cause primo laced them with fire
@@titanjake8640 right. They could’ve just released it as a 12”.
I love this song. Preem, Please look into doing an episode on 1/2 & 1/2 with M.O.P and the "Blade connection". One of my favortie joints.
Word i'm wit this, this a dope collab as well gang starr and m.o.p. classic shit!
Yessir! What about Bring it on from the reasonable doubt album. Jay-Z, Sauce Money and Jaz-O!
Yo when this man scratches the vinyl I have goosebumps all over my body, his style and originality of those sounds is so unique
This is one of my favorite Luda songs because of Preemo. Legendary!!!
Check out my beats if not one love
Man I highly appreciate the footage that Premo was able to provide for the record. Because I just love behind the scenes, studio stuff. The building of the beat and concept.
A recently found theatre of the mind, there's some amazing tracks on there like last of a dying breed and I do it for hip-hop.
I remember the first time I heard this. I remember exactly how it made me feel. I went out and bought the cd the next day. This album solidified his place as one of the dopest lyricists from the Dirty Dirty. We appreciate you Premier.
CLASSIC MATERIAL...still bangin it to this day 😎
Check out my beats if not one love
Salute Salute Premmmmmo and Ludacris. To me this production hits different. We needed this and we are getting it. Love this track plus Ludacris kills it. Thank you for both.
Man Preemo never misses! Hands down my all time favorite.
I stayed with this song on repeat when this album first dropped 🔥🔥🔥🔥
DJ Premier is the Balance and Orator of Hip-Hop. He is literally from Houston and the South but created the iconic Brooklyn, NYC Sound of Hip-Hop. His Tag Team partner in Gangstar, Guru was from Boston. DJ Premier is Hip-Hop.
That mvp beat is one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard 🔥🔥
Theatre of the mind was Luda boom bap album and it was Dope.
Waiting to see Platinum Plus - Big L and BDK🔥
Nothing more amazing than getting insight into your creative process and hearing the details on how these tracks come into fruition. I always wished I could be a fly on the wall in the rooms these meetings take place. However, settling for this is epic enough.
Preem u a legend my brother. Love these.
Please do Xzibit - What a Mess
I still chypher to this!!! I was so hyped Luda and Primo collabed.
Thats Wassup!!! Easily my favorite episode yet, love the behind the scenes of some of my favorite tracks and also discovering new ones.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, thank you for sharing all of these with us! Could watch forever! GOAT
Prem is a fucking treasure, and this song in question is an absolute banger.
Glad Luda didn't get the first beat that house of reps joint was a BANGER
Check out my beats if not one love
MOMENT OF TRUTH!!!!
Dope collab!
Another fire story from out the sacred vault of TRUE HIPHOP! Thanks for another amazing piece of history Preem!!!
Why is this the first time I am hearing of this track.... and I call myself a OLDHEAD.... JEEESUS!
i still bump that gotta love it
As always respekt
Whew! This track, and Theatre of the Mind as a whole, was some of the inspiration for me to start making beats. Big ups to you Primo!
So dope. I've never heard what Luda did to the beat but I've freestyled to it mad times. Classic.
Nice! I'm super excited for this one.
The final product fits Luda way better. Glad he didn't choose the first beat.
Awesome to have that old footage.
Too Dope fo show.
Big love Dj Premier
Watching this series, premier is putting in the work, really put me on some game.
MASTER☮︎PEACE
Dope. I love to hear your storys from before my time.❤️
Premo & Snoop - the one and only would be interessting too 🔥
One of my favorite tracks off Theatre of The Mind. Also a little surprised Premier didnt mention The Game on that album.
These videos are amazing! Thanks for letting us know what was going on! Great source of inspiration. Biggest respect to all the dead and living legends.
One of my favorite songs, a perfect combination. Keep pushing on this series, highlight of the week!
Luda’s finest moment! Peace.
So much dope history in one video! MVP was an underrated song
This album brings me back to when i was a kid.
PUT THE TRACK "CLASSIC" (FT KANYE RAKIM NAS) ON SPOTIFY
Wouldn’t that be a nike decision
Rewinding Premier dropping a "Truuuuuu" to himself.
Mayn this guy's just good!!!💥
Never heard this track, y’all both killed it!!
Been waiting for this one....MVP has always been in my top 5 Prem' beats - despite most 'heads' not knowing it (as its not Gangstarr or Luda snobbery)...but it shows, Premier still delivering classics long after others have retired...Salute!
Check out my beats if not one love
This shows how dope Ludacris is as an emcee. Salute his creativity
Appreciate these videos and the history that isn't often spoken about.
🔥🔥🔥 LEGEND!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I’m here because my friend asked had Preem &Luda ever did a joint. I was like, Yeah!
This was a very dope track but the only part that I had a problem with was when Ludacris said he’s the first southern rapper on a Premo beat. I was like nah Luda it was Scarface back in 1998 on the song Betrayal with Gangstarr. Lol it’s all good Luda. Any who, this was my favorite song on Theatre Of The Mind album.
Check out my beats if not one love
Yup. Scarface, Cee Lo (“Evening News”), Devin The Dude (“Doobie Ashtray”), and even Jermaine Dupri (“Protectors of 1472” featuring Snoop) all rocked over Premo beats before Luda.
@@satishrobertson8771 Exactly lol. Unless he probably forgot lol.
@@SoulOfTheSouth I’m guessing he just plain didn’t know.
I’m surprised Preem didn’t correct him
Peace.... 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 classic
Lovelovelove
I just be binge watching these sometimes, so glad Premo is so into the culture
I look forward to these studio Gems and stories!!! 👊🏿
Gotta love how Luda was so creative and having fun with it but he could absolutely eat your lunch on the mic if your name is not Marshall or Wayne
My favourite Ludacris track ever. Had the CD in High School and was the shit.
Much needed series!!!!! Fucc all the blog behind the scenes type stuff. All i be wantin to hear is cool stories bout how traccs got made and the vibes.
Wow the 2 inna room n 2 chainez connection is crazy.
Also lookout for all those crazy wiggle it dubs...
Peace
This was an instant classic along with the 9th/common joint
Fkin love AL from house of reps... Lyrics i need you..1 of the best songs ever...big up luda too
So dope 🤟🏾
Great as usual 👍🏽
Yes 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Aiiiight Then!!!!
Love the insight mane and Shawnna so hard with it and Fine til this day!
Got this joint on my iPod. Fire track!
The flip of this sample is the biggest star shining in this production. Wauw
Whirlwind thru cities
So many great beats. Would be cool to hear about other tracks like '3 the hard way'; 'Invincible'; 'Next level', or 'D'evils' etc
Been enjoying these a lot . Premo beats to me are the purest essence of hip hop music . If aliens came to earth and asked what hip hop was . I would play them one of his tracks
Been waiting for this one.
Love DJ Primer !!! I consider this shit Gold!!! 🥇 ALL Content Created!!!! Thank you Sir !!!!😎👑💯👏🏆 RIP Guru Gang Starr Forever 🙏 89-99 Owning the 90's!!
I love that he still has all of his floppys
Thank you for your Fatherly hiphop story DJ Premier. This sort of conversation is what so many children missed out on and it made them go astray
Premier is the GOAT! Respect ✊🏾 RIP GURU
Theater of the mind is a classic!
Wow, I was just either yesterday or today listening to this track wondering if and when you gonna do this one premier 🤪🤗 wow!!
wow i listen this much on 2008 banger track thanks primo
Such a great pick for this episode! I was always curious how you connected with LUDA!
edit: Also love the commentary on Theater Of The Mind it's my 2nd favorite Ludacris album, banger after banger. Quality over quantity like you said.
Peace to Primo! Aside from his amazing, era/area establishing production, he was so revered that any rapper who believed they were an MC/lyricist knew they had to show & prove over the steam that DJ Premier manifested.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ludacris is one of my top 10 rappers of all time as what DJ Premier says do not sleep on him, I’ve always told people about him but his lyrical skills an they just think he’s a gimmick artists but he’s not.
Salute 🔥🔥🔥🔥
A Preemo joint is like a right of passage for all rappers
