  • Nas is one of the greatest writers of all time. From his storytelling to his metaphors, the way he maneuvers words to share his perspective on the world is a once in a lifetime ability. He’s had one of the most consistent runs of lyricism, ever and there is nothing that can happen that would take away Nas’ impact on Hip Hop over the last 3 decades.

“One Love”. When I first saw Belly my mind was blown that they could literally make a movie scene out of one of his verses. The absolute meaning of storytelling.

One thing about Nas is he knows how to make a compelling record. Most rappers can only do freestyles and are grossly one dimensional in their subject matter. They're only good for a posse cut and would be boring to listen to over the course of an album without being laced with beats from top producers. Nas has never been carried by beats and has the lyrical versatility to make an album interesting.

NaS was Born to Use Mics 🎤! He has always been about the Art, the Culture, for the most part he didn't compromised his Pen to get Radio play, but he always knew that all he had to do was keep working putting out his thoughts & creativity on tracks and let it play out in the long run. Y'all forget that his Dad is a musician that has traveled the World and so music flows through NaS veins, and to him its about the music, all the other stuff that comes with it good or bad, like fame or hate is expected, so you look the other way and just do you and continue feeding his loyal fans. I remember him saying in an interview 1990s, young NaS, that he was going to rhyme until he grow old, because that is what he loves to do and there is no reason why a Rapper can't rhyme into his 70s like Rock n Roll artist do.
