Why Nas Will Never Work With Kanye West Again

- While Nas has been releasing a multitude of great albums this decade with the King's Disease and Magic series, do you know the shocking reason why he went on this run in the first place...
Notice Nas never blames anyone for anything, he just brings more heat
That is a fact!
Nasir had tracks like Adam and Eve, Everything and Simple Things.
Lost Tapes 2 had Queensbridge Politics, Highly Favored, Shit Never Ends and Lost Freestyle.
Both albums were fire to me. I still listen to them. I just think that since he's delivered some of the best albums in his career like Illmatic, It Was Written, Stillmatic and, Life is Good and is regarded to be in the G.O.A.T. conversation he is held with high expectations. I'm just grateful for him giving us beautiful music and still teaching us lessons through his experiences. 💯
Nasir has 2 Or 3 good songs, the rest is Skip, Weak álbum, Kanye is not hard Enough to Work with Nas
I like both albums too 🤷🏾♂️
Don't forget Cop Shot The Kid
Lost Tapes II was a banger
Bonjour and white label on Nasir are BANGERS TOO
I’m going to see nas with wu-tang on Saturday with my best friend and I’m super hyped for it 😱
Have fun! I saw Nas this year he was amazing live
Oh shit, I saw the NY state of mind tour earlier this year in Sydney Australia. NAS was insane. Wu was a triumph
i saw them in glasgow, such an amazing concert, hope you enjo
Hope you enjoyed! I hope they go on tour again because I really am big fans of both!
I saw Nas and Wu Tang at the Barclays in Brooklyn. The show was fire 🔥
Alright man, I don't know what you're source of information is, but let me tell you that almost nobody was asking for Kanye and Nas album before they announced it. Everybody wanted (and still wants) to hear that Nas/Preemo collab. And even if that album with Kanye collab album failed, that's nothing to be mad at him for, they just linked at the wrong time, where there wasn't enough time to polish everything. So I definitely don't think they won't be working together ever again. Hell, he even used a Kanye produced song on The Lost Tapes 2 a year later. If anything, Hit-Boy is the one who will probably never work with Kanye again. He was dissing him at KD2 release party and talked about their fallout on Composure Part 2 (go listen to it, song is fire). You're just overdramatising the whole situation, it's not that deep. Better luck next time
A Nas Premo album is still the dream for sure and always has been! But that doesn't mean people didn't want a Nas and Ye album as well which was clearly true because of the expectations for Nasir at the time
@@fantastichiphop Of course there were high expactions, considering it was Nas's first album in 6 years and popular critique at that time was that Nas picks bad beats. So linking up with someone like Kanye, who's one of the best producers ever, would bring more attention to it, not to mention the quality of Daytona and KSG. But that doesn't mean there was some massive 13 year hype and demand for their album ever since We Major, like you're describing it in the video. People wanted Nas back on that Illmatic, boom bap, Preemo sound, not Kanye. That's just spreading false information
Don’t forget bro Kanye called Nas his favourite rapper for the longest time so let’s not act like there wasn’t hype behind this project.
the funny thing is that Kanye actually worked with Hit-Boy recently for his new album and also Game single Eazy was done with Hit-Boy
@@seanjjpaul For the longest time you're saying? If that's the case, find me a clip, other than that one from Drink Champs, where he says it. I'll make your job easier, there is none, I already searched for it. And since when people want the collab album just because rappers are fans of each other?? That's nonsense
Wise man once said, it's not what happens to you but how you react to it
It wasnt just the Nasir album, Life Is Good wasnt really well received amongst most fans when it came out. Even though now it seems to more favored as it aged. Its considered a grown man's album so this was a different lane for his music at the time. Also I dont consider Lost Tapes to be real albums since its merely a collection of unreleased and revised unreleased songs where he changed a few things. It shouldnt be ranked against his real studio albums. That was purely a move to give back to the fan base in which alot wanted classic Nas records from yesteryear. Calling it a dud based on streams or sales I feel is a stretch. Nas was the only rapper outside of the 2Pac estate putting such "Lost Tape" collections together.
But yes I will agree, I expected more from the Nasir album. Had Nas worked with Ye in got 2006-2009, it would be a different story.
I don’t remember hate towards Life Is Good. Maybe I was in a bubble. I bought the deluxe edition the day it came out, it got 4.5 mics in The Source, Hit #1 on the charts, seemed to get rotation for the videos on all the music stations. I thought it was well received unless me and my circle were just gassing it up. 😅
Life is good was a critically acclaimed and it went gold bro
Life is Good was nominated for a Grammy
I liked Nasir better than all those 7 track albums they released. I feel like it was more like an EP that felt a little rushed. I think is just more Nas is put on a higher scale than the other artist. Still to me it was a pretty good project just not his best. I loved the Adam and Eve track the best. When I look at the Nas and Hit-Boy albums I feel they really made some of the best albums in the past 3 years. I loved the Magic 3 they just released.
Nah-Sear, Naahhh-Seeeaaaarr! Not Nah-zeeer!!! You new guys are killing me!
This was well put together even though more than half is just speculation
imagine thinking Lost Tapes 2 is a dud, some people are just lame as fuck
Jay made Ye push that date on purpose.
😂😂😂
Who are the “people” that said Nasir and Lost Tapes 2 was a failure? What makes their opinion credible? Most people don’t know hip hop no matter how much they listen to it…..
kanye isn’t kanye anymore from a production standpoint. Nasir wasn’t great production wise but lyrically it was on point. kanye was still mixing the album minutes before it was released. If you pay attention nobody is going crazy to work with kanye anymore. he’s to concerned with media & the kardashians instead of just making music
Exactly. Kanye fell off after Graduation
@@JEFFMAN90this is just incorrect and hating, he still went on to drop MBDTF and that’s just from a MC standpoint let alone producer standpoint
😂that a bloody lie cause he produced Daytona for Pusha T and Teyana Taylor ktse around the same period Nasir was the worst produced out of those sessions simple
Nas is one of the greats. I didn't too much like the Nasir album and it did seemed rushed but even in its rushed state, it was still better than a lot of the albums that came out that year.
AT this point even Kanye wouldn't wanna work with Kanye
Nas the best and been the best for 20 years
Nas don't need to work with that clown
Kanye and nas did work together since 2006 or 2005 they just dont have a album together like hitboy n nas
If Nas did an album with 2005 version of Kanye West then that album would be a classic. Kanye fell off for me after Graduation
Is it me or does nas never age? Another great vid bro, you’ve got to blame Kanyes ego for trying to produce this many top albums in a year, there ain’t a rapper in the world who can come up with a cohesive album in a WEEK!!! EPDM 2 is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nas knows. But someone needs to tell Kanye: It's ok to be gay Kanye, really.
Cause he loves hitboy now, its simple
He's another #RapGod...
Thank u❤
Kanye tried to bury with mid tracks for NASIR for Jay and Nas finally figured it out.
He was fulfilling his major label contract with tŕash albums NASIR and LOST TAPES 2.
Once he was out of that deal he started working on the KD and MAGIC trilogy to make up for it
Hold up nobody praised ye production on Nasir. Wtf
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21
Tf does that have to do with anything said here?
Why they got all these theories about Nas career lol
I pick AZ over Nas all day 🤷🏽♂️
I actually love Nasir
#MAGIC3 is a Better ALBUM than #KD3 respectfully
Day 1 Nas fans never lost faith in Nas.
Facts
Bullshit. And I've been listening to him since the barbeque.
💯
💯 Nas Goat
Nas 🐐
Nas is the best that ever did it!
Nas never fell off. The industry is full of distractions. I'm so proud of Nas!
The fact that nasir is the quality that it is, shows that if nas had more time it would have been a classic album
NO ONE WILL EVERY WORK WITHG KANYE HE IS DEAD... KANYE HAS BEEN KILLED AND REPLACED WITH A LOOK ALIKE / CLONE
Weak álbum, Kanye is not hard Enough to Work with Nas
I think Kanye started on the production for that album the week before it was due
sounds like it@@adrianrice2177
Wasn't Nas's fault, Kanye rushed that project. It's clear with the classics and quality Nas has produced with Hit-Boy that the failed NASIR album was Kanye's fault.
Nas was NEVER NOT in the GOAT conversations!
Nasir is very underrated and has aged well, Adam and Eve is one of the sickest songs I’ve heard in a long time, white label bars, bonjour (play that song on a beach) The beats sound unique, not nas’s best rapping but I don’t understand the hate. Most of it comes from non nas fans or people who haven’t listened to it If you put it against artist his level like em, Wayne,50, wu, that album is better then artist his age recent ones. If rap was a sport nas is Jordan especially with the recent hit albums, only thing he lacks is proper radio records that someone like jay z has. It depends what type of listener you are, interesting watch though.
Like what songs are people not liking
I agree
I dont think its bad at all either but you gotta admit its probably Nas's worst album lyrically, with him just spouting a lot of nonsense on not for radio for example and also on everything and the mixing on the record sucks, I cant even hear Nas for most of white label, the album had potential to be fantasric but it was rushed and not as good as it coulda been even though I still enjoyed it and Adam and Eve is a top 10 Nas track ever.
NO ONE WILL EVERY WORK WITHG KANYE HE IS DEAD... KANYE HAS BEEN KILLED AND REPLACED WITH A LOOK ALIKE / CLONE MORON
Yes ,Kanye did ! Nas said him and Ye barely seen each other in the studio during that week or 4 days to complete the project!
Nas is the Pheonix that rises from the ashes he did it in 2001 with Stillmatic then Godson and Street Disciple
Here is the truth. Hit Boy is the only dude to give Nas HEAT BEATS. Everyone else gives Nas bullshit and then be like: “Nas is done.”
That’s absolute trash. Nas is the best ever and y’all way too critical. You don’t do this for no other artist. Y’all are 🚮
No way kanye disrespected nas like that
I wouldn't even say disrespect I think it was just the wrong time for them to work on something
NO ONE WILL EVERY WORK WITHG KANYE HE IS DEAD... KANYE HAS BEEN KILLED AND REPLACED WITH A LOOK ALIKE / CLONE

@@fantastichiphopYe and Pusha T music 10 times better than anything Nas and HitBoy overrated ass has ever put out. Like Jay Z said Nas is two albums Illmatic and it was written. The end
@@AntonnChigurhPeace Bro. I respect & comprehend your opinion as I love Ye’s catalogue. As a DJ for 30yrs, I admit I don’t really spin Nas tunes in my party like dat, but his lyrical content is SOo underrated. Pls Check “Black Girl Lost”, “We Will Survive”, “If I Ruled the World” ft. Lauryn Hill, “Everything” feat. Dream, “Sabali” feat. Damian Marley jus’ 4 starters. I truly find Soulful Strength in his Art. Glad this story is seeing the light of day

Kanye and Nas will work together again and I actually think Nasir was a great album, I never heard that people dislike it
You speaking my mind
It's like bottom 3 in Nas' discog easily
That it was incredibly disappointing was the only feedback I heard . I listened to it once and immediately moved on . Can’t recall any tracks

Nas is my favorite rapper of all time.
Same for me

7 days to complete a album is impressive ❤ if he had more time it would have been a masterpiece.
Sounds like Reneese from that Mr Cheeks record. she loved writers too. 😀
Dude he also produced Teyanna taylors album, don't sleep on that
he did mention it multiple times in the video if you watxh it
did not watch till there. He probably excluded in the first mention as its an RnB record
Greats don’t always work great together. Nas is legendary and he needed a producer to compliment his style.
You can't rush finely aged wine like Nas. Ye was stupid af for doing that.
So, even when Kanye makes a mistake, he does it right lol.
To me he's the GOAT..
We need Em to get on his Nas shit
4:47 "kanye's production was just as good as it has ever been" CAP! the beats on NASIR were trash!! maybe 2-3 songs out of 7 had good production. what are u talking about !?! Nas has came thru lyrically on every project regardless of the production
That song called EVERYTHING 🌊🌊🌊
Stupid people put lil wayne, eminem and the likes on Nas level...it actually baffles me
Nas lyrics goes over your head. Clunky and aimless bro you smoking
Nasir is overhated because it’s actually a good album but it’s still so disappointing because Kanye just gave him no time to finish the project. The album just felt unfinished but the tracks aren’t horrible. Everything and Adam And Eve are pretty good tracks. Cop Shot The Kid is a good track too but I’m kinda growing to dislike it because not only Andre 3000 was supposed to be on it but the beat is so fucking lazy. I do wish they can make an album again together but given how much of mess Ye is right now, It might take some time but I do wish they make a album again. Nasir is one of Nas’ worst albums definitely but it’s still decent. The Hit-Boy collab really saved Nas’ legacy and I thank Hit-Boy for that. This run will go down in history. Nas is definitely on of the goats.
This is totally not true. Nas is working with Kanye RIGHT NOW. Lol
Please get your facts straight...
Their collab album didn't do well commercially, but both Nas and Ye are professional creators.
Please don't make assumptions, this is detrimental to the culture.
Kanye's working a new album which I covered a few weeks ago but I have not heard anywhere Nas is involved. Hope what your saying turns out to be true
Nas works better with Kanye for features. Kanye's personality doesn't match with Nas's in the fact that when Kanye has his mindset on something, he needs it by that time. Nas needs time to develop a product that is good for the listeners and that people can enjoy and talk about.
4:44 was a garbage 🗑️ Album stop it
ur js wrong
Nah it wasn’t Garbage. Just really overrated.
Nas was never seen as washed up or perceived as a shell of his former self? Still in the middle of video I’m sure you’re talking about his Kanye produced project? Yeah, still never seen as washed. Terrible take, terrible video. Also your build up was not quiet accurate. Ye’ had mixed reception. Daytona was not instantly put over ‘my name is my name’ KSG was well received tho.
Just listened to Nasir
Wtf this shit is great
Why people complaining
Never say never with Kanye
4.44 is trash. This is proof that y’all don’t critique no one like you do Nas. To think that 4:44 is a good album shows you are in love with the idea of Jay and not that quality of Jay. 🚮
Nas needed this to push him. Nas didn't fall off. The visions did not meet that is all. I mean you know Kanye had some weird energy.
Your a fan but ultimately know f**all about HIPHOP & Even less about NAS.
Nasir is a Weak álbum, Kanye is not hard Enough to Work with Nas
Nas could never be taken out of the GOAT category
Relax
People gotta understand Nas music is not for the dumb it's upper class music they hate what they don't understand
Anyone thinking Nasir was gonna be on the level of Illmatic in the first place with only a short amount of time is foolish
I feel Illmatic is good? But people overhype that album waaay too much! Like that album had 2 anniversaries remastered and shit 🤷🏾♂️💯
I mean for me it would be possible, imo KD2 KD3 and It Was Written are better

NO ONE WILL EVERY WORK WITHG KANYE HE IS DEAD... KANYE HAS BEEN KILLED AND REPLACED WITH A LOOK ALIKE / CLONE
listen to illmatic then it was written first 100%. From there you can either go chronologically or look at his best works. Do understand his legacy, id listen to his recent kings disease and magic run to see how amazing his consistency is and how hes held up today. If you do that, kings disease 1, 2 and magic 1 are my favourite rn. Id also listen to stillmatic and gods son and maybe i am…, they are all the ones most worth listening to. Nastradamus is seen as his complete lowest, nasir is also very disappointing as this video covers, and the rest are all relatively decent at best.
Oh yeah, lost tapes is really great too.
@@jaycyclondo dope. I was thinking of illmatic to start but i might do what you say and go with the recent stuff first and than dice back into the older stuff. I love digging into music these days. Makes me feel so alive ☺️☺️☺️
@@diazableAll his albums are different. Most rap artists follow the same formula of their success. Even his latest run of King’s Disease and Magic. Each album song’s different sonically and conceptually.
I like or love all his albums. But my personality favorites are
It Was Written(most creative album ever)
Illmatic(Raps Bible)
Lost Tapes(What IAm and Nastradomus was supposed to be)
StillMatic(The rebirth)
GodSon(reborn again)
Life is Good(4.44 from Jay-Z is inspired by this album.

Nas (I am the autobiography)
This was a great album. Just to commercial for Nas pure fans. Think of Kendrick Lamar’s Damn Album. I am has songs for everybody.
Nas’ Untitled album. This is a touching album. A real deep album. You have to have an open mind for it.
Hip Hop is dead by Nas. I like this album a lot. Not one of his best. But lyrically he is sharp.
Street Discipline, disc 1, it’s a classic. This album aged well.
I would say, listen to (Illmatic)first then (It was written). Then Kings Disease and Magic Series after. Then listen to the rest. He is a Story teller. And his concepts could go over your head. But each album is a different story.
@@BdalingoFitnEnt oh damn. I really appreciate your detailed reasons. Showing me your personal preferences and his fans thoughts as well. Hella tight ☺️☺️☺️
legends never die
Lost tapes 2 was not a bad album at all. I put LT2 over Nasir, Street Disciple, and the untitled album.
Untitled has many more good songs than Lost Tapes 2 imo. Plus it's not claiming to be the sequel to one of his best albums ever
Nas has an excellent voice, vocal presence but his actual rhymes, content, construction and concepts are weak. Nas also gets the worst beats that don't fit him at all. He needs Scram Jones, Arab Muzik, and Swizz Beats to give him like 20 Bath Salts level type bangers. Nas also needs to go get the Firm back together to push him lyrically.
Araab and Swizz did "No Bad Energy"
A Kanye and Nas collab would be the dopest thing ever

Nas is the worst beat picker ever.
Definitely in the top 20
It sounds like people follow the narrative of the critics because first Nas picks bad beats that was bs now we gotta act like Nasir and Lost tapes wasn't better than most artists catalogs. Sarcastic ok because if Nas is wack there is no mercy for no one else grabbing a mic
Nas did this run to make us forget Illmatic. Once the album had it's 25th anniversary, Nas stated he's looking forward and not talking about the album anymore and wants his legacy to be more than that album.
“Advanced age”?! Nas only *just* turned 50.
You really sound like a fan of kanye ,the best album out of those kanye albums was pusha t daytona , ye sucked as well as nasir kanye had him recording up until the last min of that release which is something you fail to mention here as well as 444 not aging well ,these narratives you paint are problematic.
daytona was the best, ye was good (not great but it definitely didnt “suck”), nasir did because of that exactly yes, 4:44 aged amazingly it’s literally one of jays top 5
@@jaycyclondo444 didn’t aged well. I agre with just about everything the other guy said. Ye is Kanye’s worst album. Next to Jesus is King. And I love Jesus to death.

I like Nasir. I actually purchased the CD
This video takes way to long to get to the point
That album they did together was trash so happy he got with hitboy and made classic Nas the goat
White label was the only song that was decent
Fantastic Hip Hop proving that you can make a whole video without doing zero research. Yes, Nasir was not received well but we also heard Nas Album Done around this time where Nas reinvigorated his image on that Khaled tape. Thing is, Nas's reputation was in decline for many years as his late catalog failed to measure up to his early classics. The actuality of the matter is the Nasir tape was rushed and mishandled by both Ye and Nas and created a messy tape with moments of greatness here and there. They had very little chemistry but I doubt Nas has closed the door on ever working with Kanye, someone who has openly cited Nas as one of his favorite MCs and was overjoyed to work with him on We Major let alone an entire tape. Dog, you are legit speedrunning becoming one of the worst and laziest rap music channels around and I hope you're happy with that fact.
Kanye West more like Kanye Shit
Does everyone really dislike LT2? I understand Nasir. I agree the results were not good. But I like Lost Tapes 2. No, its not as good as the first one, but years later, i would expect a new compilation to be a different sound and content. Anyways what do you guys honestly think about LT2?
I honestly have no idea why people hate on Lost Tapes 2. I think it's very good
Black Magic is still one of my favorite tracks of 2023/2024.
Vultures is amazing. I love them both, and they came up toether.
Nas will always be #1 👑...Always 💯
I actually think that Nasir was a very good project, my only real complain is that it was too short, and the production was Kanye at his very finest. However, due to the controversies Kanye is currently embroiled in and Nas being known as a conscious rapper, it contradicts his image entirely - its not a good look for most rappers to do a song with a well known republican as their main message is about social justice. At this point, the only people I see working with Ye are Tekashi69 and possibly florida rapper Forgiato Blow (who?).
Though I do have to say Nas fans are like Star Wars fans, the most fickle ever. The tiniest little mistake he makes they switch on him instantly (he nearly ended his career in 2015 with a Justin Bieber collaboration. That was obviously an attempt to appeal to a different audience but it backfired, but everyone makes mistakes). And those fans who claim they're die-hards, ask them to name any album besides Illmatic that they actually like? I'll wait lol!
Well, truth is, they were never his fans then.
