Met Mac in 2013. We cracked a few jokes and he was the realest. Dude made everybody feel as if they were the most important person in the room, even though it was clearly him. Saw him several times through the years and he knew who I was and always asked, “you good?”. I can express what his music and friendship did for me. I miss him every day. Whoever reads this… know that you matter. I’m proud of you. Most Dope, that’s forever.
What makes him more important? Because of the money ? His talent, people have to stop putting rappers, actors on Pedestals they’re humans just like you it’s good he’s was down to earth,If you met half of the famous people you like if you wouldn’t like them anymore. I’m in the music industry met artist nfl players and most of them are arrogant, prideful,& greedy.
Mac has easily one of the best discographies of any artist living or dead. It’s so consistently good while being so varied and accidentally telling the story of his (and vicariously the listener’s) changing life. His musical career is like a really well written and fleshed out tv series or something.
Met Mac in 2015 and 2016. Super nervous the first time. Second time I gave him a canvas that I painted while in line for the meet and greet, he was stoked and took a second to look at what I made for him, he asked if I wanted it signed but I wanted him to have it. I told him that the divine feminine was the sound track off me falling in love, and he was so excited. I'll never forget his body language when I told him that. We took a picture with our thumbs up and both had a huge smile on our faces. My life will forever be impacted by Mac and his art.
Macs catalogue will go down as one of the greatest in rap. Not everybody understood his music, cause not everybody sees the world for what it truly is. Rip Larry 🎣
I would've loved to sit in the studio when he recorded swimming and circles. It feels like those albums have a level of genuine self-acceptance and peace that his others didn't have. Crazy too how that studio is just down the street from where I live. I often think about how much magic was made in there when I pass by.
Mac Miller is the epitome of doing what you love. I wasted 4 years of my life in university trying to figure out what career path to take and bouncing from program to program, despising everything I did in school. In my final year I fell in love with Mac’s music and his artistry. His passion and commitment to his craft inspired me to chase my dreams and do what I love to do. I dropped out of school and decided to live through my passion and it was the best decision I ever made. Thank you Mac.
Every time I find a Mac song I haven’t heard it’s like finding a gift from God. I miss this man so incredibly much. Mac Miller is a life changer. Rest In Peace to The Most Dopest🕊🕊
What pains me the most is thinking about the future music and impact that Mac would have had on the world. His progression as an artist from KIDS to Circles is mind blowing. RIP MAC 🕊
Not a day goes by where I don’t listen to Mac. Never met him personally but his music makes me feel like we’re great friends getting to reconnect from different dimensions and he’s telling me that everything will be okay.
I cried all day when I heard Mac died. I always liked Mac, but I fell in love with his style around Faces. Everything after Faces is amazing as well, but going back to Delusional Thomas, you could tell he was a different breed. I wish I got to meet him. He did a lot in his 26 years on Earth. When I see him on the other side, I'm gonna joke with him about being too cool for the 27 Club.
I wish my younger self could be in a studio sesh with younger Mac when he was making The High Life & stuff. Cause I know he the type to keep his friends around for the come up. Thanks for making this video. I love videos that humanize him while still showing how talented he was musically.
Thank you for the incredible mini doc. Hearing people speak on Mac's behalf is nothing short of tear jerking, I really wish we got more time with him, not just for his music but for his person. the aura that man radiated shines so true through all these artists.
Definitely need a video on the Pink Slime project. That's one of those albums where I wished it released and I've came to the acceptance that it never will.
Coming from someone that was listening and watching Mac Miller since the age of 10 he changed my life if it wasn’t for him I don’t think I’d be as thoughtful or creative when making art or living life his music and personality still is so inspirational
Such a genuine artist and only a few I would say that inspire me to purely create. He seemed to truthfully enjoy what he did in an industry where there's so much pressure to be performative and gimmicky. Long Live Mac
Mac Miller content?! He's my favorite artist, man... As cliché as it sounds, he's someone I truly look up to. I learned more from him than I did from my own father. When I'm not able to express a feeling, I can find them in one of his songs 100% I wish I could've hung out with you and had a smoke session every now and then, Mac. From all the testimonies of the people around you, I think you would've been an amazing mentor and friend, considering your openness about your good and bad sides. Unbeknownst to you, you truly did help me through my toughest, lowest times just through your music, and I'm sure your music will continue to be a part of my life as I grow older. September 7th would be the 4th year without Mac on Earth. RIP King
Mac during Faces would've been fun to see get made. I know that it wasn't a big party album, and that it had a lot of depressing notes on it. But something on that album just called out to me. I love that album. RIP to the greatest, Mac Miller.
Faces for me is maybe my favourite mac album because not only is there a beautiful honesty in it, it also doesn't shy away at all from the grime, it's a huge cautionary tale for me and my friends and reminds us constantly about the reality of drugs, it's very easy to get washed away by the good side of drugs and I don't think that side is worth ignoring, but faces makes the other side very clear too
I really can't imagine what hip hop would be like if the red room era never happened the growth this man had as an artist and the influence on others around him to become artists or explore it more has had such a large impact on my childhood thank you Mac
Even though I think this one hasn’t been released yet because it keeps getting taken down from YT, the song “Pure” is such a great song. His lyrics in that song are like the definition of where he was heading to me. R.I.P. Mac
Man why did you have to make me cry like this 😭😭 I continue life as a programmer and find inspiration in the beauty of the life of Mac Miller even in my own walk of life. His message goes far beyond that of just music, I truly believe that as a creative, there is a lesson to be learned in the struggles of his life. R.I.P. a beautiful soul, you continue to inspire all, in all walks of life. I love you. Truly.
Listen to Mac everyday for years and years!! Malcom’s music has saved me during the darkest times and been there during the best times!! Grateful for what he left is with but definitely gone wayyy to soon…
I knew who Mac was but didn't get onboard until he was doing his press tour on Shade45 dropping WATCHING MOVIES WITH THE SOUND OFF. I thought like what Tyler had done around that time with WOLF that he had a timeless Classic. I went back to the mixtapes before FACES (MY ALL TIME FAVORITE) and this kid really GREW!! Mac miller was literally just getting started. He already had thousands of songs ready to be released by blue slide park or pink slime. I forgot but mans was a hard worker like pac. Most underrated rapper producer musician of my era. My all time favorite artist 🤙🏽 inspired me to do better and got me through high school break ups etc man. 🔥🌴
Swimming - I wish I could have been in the studio 🎙️ with Mac during this time. . That whole album saved my life. I've been sober 5yrs now and while I was detoxing and starting my life over this album was in the background of this life change. Self-care - was the change I needed. Being in the studio 🎙️ with him at this time would have been a once ina lifetime experience for me ❤️ ❤Mac Miller 🩶
I just bought “Most Dope” by Paul Cantor and I cannot wait to read it. I’m hoping there’s some of what’s in this video in the book as well. Mac was really something else; one of my biggest inspirations and his presence is still missed.
There's a lot of amazing and goated artists but for me mac has and always will be my all time favorites musician, he was so musically gifted and was able to use so many different sounds and make it such a great track. Truly the definition of what a musician is. ❤
The studio part about Mac I wish people would talk about more. Everyone is human, no one is perfect. But that man with music was like wow every new project I would get excited. Rip Mac and great video 👍🏽
Wow what a great video essay. The song I would have loved to be in the booth for is the Weekend. His first verse is one of those verses as a rapper feels like the one you wrote full no stops and just vented and when you finished its a masterpiece.
I from Pittsburgh born and Raised I really just became aware of his music but I am proud of him and wiz . Are city is known for blue collar workers and football but we have so much talent here and he definitely represents us well .
This is why his passing was so hard for me. The ability he has was mind-blowing, but I have always thought wherever we go when we die, it always takes the best of us early. Maybe they are the ones ready for that next place whilst the rest of us need way longer to figure it out.
Mac Miller is one of my biggest inspirations for creating music and i hope to one day change peoples life’s with my music, my son was born 3 years ago and named after Mac.
First song I ever heard was Loud. I had just gotten kicked out of private school. I was locked in my room for 2 years only allowed to eat and read and online school. I started listening to Mac daily, like 24/7. I then started writing lyrics myself. All these years I’m still doing it, and making my own beats like he did. Mac opened my eyes to music when I was 16 years old. Ever since then iv spent almost every spare second working on making songs from scratch. Rip Mac. He’s my idol. And always will be. ❤
BDE would have been a crazy time because he knew his life was forever changed from the success of kids, faces time would have been exilerating because he did all of it from scratch, and then circles was just such raw emotion. Those are the studio sessions i would most have loved to be in the room and absorb the energy
This he why I love Mac. He was a multi-instrumentalist, a great lyricist, really just a master of his craft. His synth playing especially is just a work of art.
Being there for The Divine Feminine would have been something else. Watching how he and Arianna interacted along with Ceeloo and Kendrick. Something about Faces is also appealing, the mind alterations and breakthroughs that would have been experienced. The interdimensional being that is Mac Miller has profoundly impacted so many. I am so fortunate to have been along for the ride.
RIP Mac. Just a genuine kind soul over all. I've always wondered why the pure souls die so young? And I get the feeling that once you fulfill your purpose God calls you? Either way I know mac is in heaven.
Unfortunately I discovered Mac Miller way to late after his passing, but dude was an artist throughout, a legend. I love his work except for the young era stuff (bit too cheesy) , but his jazz and later stuff was real real good, and have it on repeat almost daily.
We have to dig into pink slime. They have to release it. It’s understandable that it wasn’t quite what he wanted everyone to hear, but it helps fulfill the part of the story that is missing. Keep his legacy alive.
It’s sad he passed but after Swimming in Circles it’s almost like he knew. If you listen to his music. He always knew and for some reason maybe life was just to hard and it was time. That’s what helped me get through his death. The thought of oblivion for him.
I never knew about day before. That gave me the chills. I would love to have been in the studio when he made grandpa used to carry a flask, self care and more I can’t think of rn.
I met mac during a sad time in my life, i thought all his music was sad since i started with circles, but he taught us all how to change, even now he contradicts himself in the most beautiful ways, he isn´t afraid of change and all his albums have a different vibe to them that is very unique. Thanks for everything Mac you will not be forgotten.
Man in my short life the death of Mac and Juice really hit me. They both seemed like such pure souls and their musical potential was so insane. Imagine how good they would be if they were still alive...
He has the ability to make things not seem so bad. He inspired me the most to create. His passion for the game is missed immensely, especially in todays weak hip hop scene. Long Live Mac Miller, we lost a real one
Young Thug's song Day Before is crazy. I often wonder what Mac was doing/feeling those final days before he passed. He seemed like he was on such a great path health-wise after releasing albums like GO:OD AM and Swimming. Obviously I never personally knew Mac or understood anything he was going through...but from the outside looking in it seemed he had finally found peace in the Swimming era
What's the one song or album of Mac's that you would have loved to be in the studio for? And where were you when you first heard it?
Tough one:
Him with absoul, kdot, fre$h, paak, Killa Kyleon, big KRIT, skateboard p….just to see the spittas gave it up to him.
Definitely NOT godspeed!
😭😭😭😭
Shout out Creed
.not a song in particular but I would have loved it to watch him put together “ Swimming " 😪😪😪 ...
Rush Hour, undeniably one of the best songs. The beat sounds like a sample and is completely original.
Imagine if mac never died and continued to release albums, we would have so many classics he only has gotten better over time. RIP MAC 💔🕊

Here for Mac R.I.P ♥
He was a boss a good artist and a good human. its sad that he past away too early.
His transition still hits me hard. ❤️🙏🏽
RIP MAC MILLER.
Long live Mac!! Truly one of the greatest musicians of our generation
1/4 way through and im hiding tears at work yo. Art. This is what true art means
Please do a Pink Slime deep dive. I think about that (what could have been) album all the time.
Man, thank you for making this. Its amazing.
This video was awesome. I miss Mac so much.
