I just saw a video where sound guy said Em thanked him for telling him he was wrong...that Em disagreed with him initially, went home and listened to a song 30 times then saw what he was saying. Em got at him the next day and thanked him for telling him the truth bc he said people just agree with him and he appreciated that guy correcting him so he could improve.

Dudes an underrated producer. He rarely talk about it hence the masses don't pay attention to it. Also about critics on him being too technical while it's valid it also has impact on audience, his technicality intrigued listeners and other rappers to learn it, dissect it, not only as music it self but also as a creative medium to learn english for people outside america and it's a fun thing to do (for me at least). He provided good learning materials. Many people argued "no club blast Eminem's song". Maybe he never intend to make club music, he makes what he wants to make. And most impertantly it's undeniable how much he loves hiphop.

It's good to see hip hop dx giving Eminem his flowers. He's right about the rhyming method. It's easier than rapping. Rapping can get repetitive. But you can always find new ways to rhyme. It's best to tell stories when rapping on a topic. Jayz said it as well, the words just keep coming no matter what.

I feel like sometimes the scrutiny of Eminem robbed us of some of his best moments over the past 20 years. He went underground as far as his personality goes, but imo that was a huge part of his persona. Dude was so funny, so charismatic, etc, then he slowly became a hermit and only wanted his rhymes to speak for themselves, even if they were few and far between. I can respect that, especially since maybe the noise would have interfered with his sobriety (not that any of us know if he's actually been clean the whole time), but man the rap game and its society are not forgiving at all. He's so much more than the lyrics and the style. Maybe that's what he wants though, just that.

He already had a massive fanbase and successful career before this but after he dropped "Without Me" it was absolutely insane and that wasn't even one of his best songs, it was a good song but it's the music video that got everyone's attention.

He was putting out beef after beef after beef and from MMLP to D12 World, he would spit something out in a vicious way or just straight up scream and growl throughout the whole song. I’ve listened to all of his projects, and it’s not really about the amount of effort he puts into incorporating a theme or message, it’s the way it’s conveyed that puts off some of his non-core listeners. You can count a good number of songs where he has an inspirational tone or significant message but the fact that you have to count says more than it would otherwise. His strength is emphasizing technical aspects in rap over all else. So the more energy you put in one aspect the more you take from another, for example 2Pac could get pretty technical when he wanted but he used to write dozens of 3 verse songs a day with personal stories, political messages, or inspirational purposes. It’s pretty tough to focus on intricate rhyme schemes and devices with that level of output into actual song making substance. The best balance I’ve seen between the 2 thus far is between Nas, Kendrick, and André 3000. But every legend has their own styles and points of emphasis.

It’s astonishing to me when I hear people try to downplay the genius of Eminem’s writing. It’s OK if someone just doesn’t like his music I have no problem with that at all but when I hear people say that he literally just writes about nothing except for killing his mom and just rhyming words for the sake of rhyming words I can’t take them seriously because they clearly haven’t listened to 98% of his music. It’s not like the dude wrote three albums about killing his mom . Songs like ‘Not Afraid, Mosh, Toy Soldiers, Sing for the Moment, The Way I Am, Loose Yourself, Stepping Stones, Not Alike, Or just some songs off the top of my head that I can think of when people say he doesn’t make any real content those are all songs about something. Some of them very deep. When I hear people say that it just makes me think that they’re just haters of his and that they will never give that man the credit he deserves no matter what he does so it’s pointless for him to even try to please those people.

Its subjective to me. There’s multiple style of rap. Black magic is a story while book of rhymes is more about how ill his song writing is. I dont see how someone like budden can say hes said nothing in a decade. He of all people should appreciate the quality of bar structure em puts out.

I'd of loved to of been in the studio sessions while he was writing and recording the Marshall Mathers LP.
Imagine watching him pen then spit "The Way I Am"

I hated relapse when it came out and just went back and listened to it and it was way ahead of its time what an album. Like Kanye you go back to albums you didn’t like when they came out few years later and you love them

I understood is from the unused track “I’m having a relapse” all the way to the bonus tracks.
I’m glad that people can come back to something with a different mindset and finally appreciate it for what it was trying to do and be. I believe people feel the same with 808’s and Heartbreak.

I loved Relapse when it dropped. I think a lot of people didn't like the album because EM used a lot of accents on that album. EM even said that Relapse was probably one of his worse albums he ever did because of that. But I personally loved just about every track on that album. I still bump 3AM to this day. I love that track and the music video is dope also. Same song and dance is another banger on that album..

He's simply one of a kind. Makes words rhyme and absolutely kills it!! Nobody can immolate his style or his rap i.q. Just a beast on the mic and when he's on there isn't many that can even come close. Lyrics and story telling is how i rate rappers and he's one of the best to ever do it idc what any says. I wait for the day em and cole make a song it would be freaking legendary!!!!!

EM, from a kid who grew up with almost 0 father figure, one billion fucked up emotions and the desire to rage, you were there for me in your songs, I can't imagine a world without Marshal Mathers, bless your sole and your family Slim.
My first caste was purchased in Syria from a bootlegger ( i was living there due to my parents divorce)
Mad love & repect the world will not be the same without you, you've been a big brother, a phather figure and a inspiration to bypass social layers, Respect 🎉

I first listened to Eminem when I was a kid riding with my uncle in his truck and he put in the encore album cd and Never Enough played and I was like this is dope. I didn’t get fully into him until I was a young teenager after The Marshal Mathers LP2 came out and been a huge fan ever since. All the hate Em gets is almost ban wagon-y like the more love and praise he gets it seems like it’s double the hate he gets and people always saying he’s the worst and ( insert rapper ) is better or he fell off after ( insert album ) and been doing it for the money since. People don’t realize how talented he actually is when creating music because the rappers nowadays are bland and sound the same and people love it for some reason but that’s my opinion. All I know is I’ll be blasting Eminem till the day I die and I know he is in the Mount Rushmore of rap artists or in the clouds looking down on it since he’s the rap god.
