"It comes from humble beginnings" M. Tyson The chemistry between these two men on point. Appreciate Eminem's humility. To much talk about himself he gently shifts dialog towards his admiration of Tyson. Commanding respect for both!
This is the most comfortable I have ever seen Eminem in an interview. Mike understands his story and empathizes without judgement, the energy doesn't lie. Em actually wanted to be there and keep talking, hopefully we see a pt 2 soon. Two brilliant people having a great conversation, love it!
Talented + the knowledge of what they've been through the gutter then go through the crazy Fame and money where it eats your soul and destroys your principals then to snap back and grab yourself and ground yourself again that's where they are. That's what I see when says they're humble. Politicians need to be humbled.
Mike went through the highest one can go and hit rock bottom so he can sympathize with people who also came from the bottom up and Eminem surely knows Mikes story so he feels he can relate to someone who obviously looked up to as legend
Exactly what I was thinking. Never seen him so excited, open, naturally laughing/smiling, joking, talking about something else he's passionate about ... all good vibes and spontaneity.
This interview is as personal as it can be for Marshall. Finally we could see him as the man he truly is. P.S Slim Shady saved my life, his music was inspiring like nothing else. Especially "Sing for the moment" still listening in 2024
No it ain’t rare. He fanboys on old school hip hop artists literally all the time. He spends most interviews these days deflecting attention from him onto these other artists he appreciates. This just different because mike ain’t a rapper.
Everytime the praise is put on Eminem he deflects it back to Mike, he's one humble dude.. arguably the most famous human being in the world, and its not fake at all..
@Hellstorm 69 moronic comment. The guy is 53, obviously wouldn't compete now. In his prime no one in the current heavyweight division would compete with him. Especially the guy that gets gassed from wearing a costume 😂
That is Em. Said himself "You've got Marshall here." The grounded genius from humble beginnings. Anyone who has studied Em knows that this is the real Em. The gangster shit and psychopath personas are facades, perhaps even insight into his own troubled thought processes (that all great artists/geniuses have), but those aren't him.

Marshall came across as insincere and fake quite a few times. Mike is much more sincere in listening and being in the moment. Marshall is doing it more for sales. He is constantly aware and looking after his image and not to be real. Mike doesn't care.
@@francoisnel5253 when it comes to celebrities marketing yeah. The main reason why eminem is love is because of his storytelling and authenticity. So one way to market his songs is to rap about his life

You know Eminem was so humbled and comfortable that he talked about his mom, Uncle Ronnie, $500 struggle, rap battles, past fellows, Big Proof and Hailie in a same interview.
There's nothing more special than seeing people talk from their hearts, raw and authentic.

Mike Tyson is such a huge part of hip hop because not only did he grow up in the hood while it was getting bigger, but once he blew up, hip hop and him became entwined.
What he was saying about robbing people after the club, Em wanted no part talking about but Mike was serious.
Mos def sang about this too

Eminem about to cry just remembering how he was at the rock bottom and dre saved he's life.. So touching
I think you're right. That's why he changes the subject right after to talk about Mike instead of about himself. So he could stop bringing back those memories so he wouldn't cry.
I noticed that too. His journey is so incredible.
I got tears from that ngl. His life could’ve gone a completely different trajectory after that... the universe works in mysterious ways, I know Em’s a Christian so he probably felt really humbled & grateful thinking back on that.
Real talk .... I gotta a lot of respect for Em for never forgetting how far he has come and being poor
he was about to cry and he changed the subject.
