Ever since this dropped I've gone back and put CMW back into the playlist. As dope as NWA, Ice Cube, Snoop are, and I'm 46, I've heard it all from the west. I've definitely played more CMW/MC EIHT than anything. Much respect

Music To Driveby, dope album bro! Same with Straight Checkn 'Em! All the Rapper's Eiht shout out's at the end of Music to Driveby are OG's! "Gang Starr, Naughty by Nature, Too $hort, Breed, Cube, Lynch Mob, Scarface, YoYo, 2 Pac" and "the new n*gga snoopy snoop dog" haha! So Dope
He explained every detail/background/tertiary fact behind the making of this track except for the major detail that this was a DJ Quik diss and played a huge part in their beef. He seemed pretty careful not to mention Quik at all when talking about West coast artists. 🤔
Regardless, this is one of my favorite 12"s I own and I bought it just for the remixes.

He still didnt mention DJ Ant, who was the original Compton's Most Wanted DJ and member. Not sure how he forgot that. Once cant help but see the only white dude on the album cover of It's A Compton Thang. Also, Music To driveby was the 2nd album on Epic. Straight CheckN Em was the first one on Epic. It's A Compton Thang was on EMI. Which was the major label, Capital-EMI (CEMA). The same major label that distributed Chrysalis, Gang Starr's label, Capital, Hammer's label, and SBK, Vanilla Ice's label.

Can you do Nas’ “I Gave You Power”. That is the song that I really don’t hear any scratches from, which is something that I normally hear in a DJ premier produce track, so I would really like to see how the record got made and what it meant to Nas and DJ Premier.
