If any actor in Hollywood could be considered an icon... it's Jimmy Stewart! Every one of his movies, he gave his best to us on the silver screen. My favorites of his movies are "Harvey," and "It's A Wonderful Life." 🙏 RIP JIMMY STEWART 🙏 You Are Missed
How to phone a minute he was never an actor he was just acting himself. And to top it all over acted in every film he was in. Personally I’ve got sick to death of him.
Jimmy Stewart is probably my favorite actor. I'm also proud of his service in WW2. He was a real airman during the war. He wasn't serving for show, he did the same thing all the airmen did. He flew missions every single day and faced the gun from the anti-aircraft guns. My father was a bombardier during WW2. He also didn't talk much about it other than telling me how scary it was down where the bombs were. He could see all the flak coming up from the anti-aircraft guns were and having to kick out the bombs that got stuck. He had to make sure that all bombs had been dropped before they left to fly back to England. Plane s often made rough landings and a bomb aboard could have been a huge problem. God bless Jimmy and his family. I wish my Dad was still around to answer questions about WW2. God bless all our veterans, whatever war(s) they fought in. My father served in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam (according to his grave marker at the Beaufort National Cemetery).
James Stewart was so believable in his film roles. He was in a class by himself. My favorite films are, "It's a Wonderful Life" and all of the Hitchcock movies he acted in.
I loved Jimmy Stewart in every movie I saw him in, which is quite a few. Love Vertigo, Rope, Flight of the Phoenix, Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Will Stratton Story, Anatomy of A Murder, The Glenn Miller Story, The FBI Story, Rear Window, The Spirit of St. Louis and many more! He seemed like a very kind & caring person, too. ❤❤
He was an excellent actor for many films. He knew what he was looking for and made it happen. He followed his own heart and cared about his wife and family. He was a family man and stood up for his own country during the war.
James Stewart is one of my favorite actors, the other being Cary Grant. They were fabulous in The Philadelphia Story. It is one of my favorite films, along with It’s a Wonderful Life. No one else could have portrayed George Bailey the way he did. Thank you, Mister Stewart, for so many great moments in cinema due to your talent. Rest in peace. 🙏
I had a Boxer dog that was named Bo I loved his poem about his dog Bo and couldn't help but to shed a few tears after I watched his poem about his Bo. My wife plays with our Bo every day in Heaven.
I met a woman when I lived in Italy that had a picture of herself as a young child taken with Jimmy on her wall. She told me she was a war orphan and Jimmy Stewart came to their orphanage at the end of the war with a group of soldiers bringing toys and treats to the children. He spent the day volunteering and getting to know the children. Every year after that Jimmy sent her a personalized birthday card and nice present. She said he also did it for the other 20 children he met there until they all grew up and were able to leave the orphanage. What a kind, sweet man!
He was the best actor at playing the regular Joe. Never saw him playing an epic character like Moses or General Patton. He played the everyday guy. Always believed his portrayals and I laugh and cry at all of them. I really wish I’d had met him just to say thank you for all the entertainment he provided to the world. One of my favorite possessions is an autographed book of his poems that I’ll always treasure ❤
It's a Wonderful Life is and will always be my favorite Jimmy Stewart Holiday Movie. Thank you for the joy you gave me watching you in this movie and all the others as well We will miss you.
I recall that he was Carol Burnett’s favourite actor, and when she came to the end of her successful variety show, they invited Stewart on to surprise her. She was genuinely surprised and thrilled, and he just embraced her for the longest time and explained how much he admired her. The shared humanity was so heartwarming. May he RIP. (Carol is 94 and still with us).
@FactsVerse I remember my sister took me and my boyfriend at the time to a Halloween party at the winery. She dressed up as Jimmy Stewart's character Elwood P. Dowd and my boyfriend was Harvey! I was dressed up as Mae West. Anyway, "Harvey" got first prize in the costume contest
I had the priviledge of meeting Jimmy in Nov 1977 when he went to Lucille Ball's 25th Anniversary do at the Beverley Hilton I spoke to him and many others including John Wayne.. A real Gentleman.. Genealogy makes Jimmy Maitland Stewart, a cousin.❤ a real Scot😊
I was privileged to have seen Mr. Stewart on the London stage in the mid seventies in “Harvey”. He was more age appropriate for the role at that point in his life. It was beyond wonderful. And, at the end during the curtain call, he stepped out to take a bow, looked back and opened the gate of the set’s picket fence for Harvey, who also got mad applause. I sweat you could actually SEE Harvey on that stage. A wonderful theatre memory!
Vicky! It was truly an epic theatrical experience. Quite magical, in fact. I also saw Anthony Quinn do Zorba the Greek as well as Yul Brynner as The King in the King and I, both in Toronto. Sadly, it was one of Yul’s last performances as he was quite ill with cancer. He was wonderful despite it all although it was sad that he Couldn’t do the “Shall WeDance” number which is my favourite. He stood still while the actress danced around him, making it so poignant. At any rate, wonderful theatre memories!
He was a great actor; I saw so many of his films and he was always convincing in his roles. His "funniest joke in the world", which can be found here on RUclips, was delivered with that slow delivery that had you hanging on every word. Rope and Vertigo are probably the two films I liked the best outside of his westerns which is where I first ever saw him act. One of a kind.
A great man Talented, Gifted actor, A real American Hero, I never heard a mean thing said about him. I admire him so much. Talented, to all appearences a great husband m father with a great marriage , What I wouldn't give for just one of those. Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation is the 1st of his movies I saw. But asking my favorite I would have a hard time picking my top 10. If I have to pick one I would say I liked BandoleroDean Martin, George Kennedy, Raquel Welch. Whats not to like great cast. One thing I will always remember is how much Carol Burnett loved Jimmy Stewart and on her last show he surprised her and Tim Conway said he had a new talent that Carol should listen too. It was Mr Stewart singing Rag Time Cowboy Joe. It was Carols reaction that made it fantasstic. Mr Stewart was her favorite actor it was very touching. I bet you can see iit on youtube

It’s a wonderful life. Great movie every year during Christmas time. I was in the Air Force and I love that man with all those missions he did second world war. God bless him and his family.
You asked a most difficult question- my favorite Jimmy Stewart film. I am 77 and have seen all. He is without a doubt my favorite male star, always has been. It's A Wonderful Life was once my answer. But rethinking all of his great movies, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is now my favorite. The Glenn Miller Story and Rear Window rank high. I know my answer is lengthy but how can one answer this question with one answer. Thank you Jimmy for your service in WW 2. You are a true hero. Love and blessings to his family.
I watched many movies of Mr. Stewart. My favorite is Anatomy Of Murder, in which he played as a small town lawyer. He is not only a great actor, but also a great American.
He was a great actor in every movie he was in. He even played a murderer in one of the Thin Man movie series in the thirties that actually you didn't know who the killer was until Nick Charles, the detective, figured it out in the end. Rear Window and Winchester 73 were also some of my favorite movies.
Rear Window! I've been in love with Jimmy Stewart since I was a little girl . Great in Hitchcock films. Vertigo is another favorite. Seems like he was a gracious and kind man. ❤
For those who have never seen Jimmy Stewart in a truly great romantic comedy watch the 1940 film "A shop around the corner" with Margaret Sullavan. The two of them certainly had chemistry. A wonderful film.
I love the Frank Capra movie You Can't It With You, which also had Lionel Barrymore and many other outstanding actors and actresses. His role in that movie is just so lovable and down to Earth.
I love Jimmy Stewart! I never saw a bad film of his. I loved all his films. I just bought RearWindow. I love watching movies over and over again. I'm really enjoying this film. And, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Wendell Corey with Jimmy, its fabulous watching great actors. Rest in Peace all to the cast and crew of Rear Window. ❤️🙏❤️
My favourites are: the shop around the corner, the Philadelphia Story, You can’t take it with you, Mr Smith Goes to Washington, It’s a Wonderful Life, Harvey and Rear Window. I watch all of these every year. There are probably many more he was a wonderful actor. There will never be another like him.
Amazing Man Jimmy Stewart entered the Air Force Reserve and retired after 27 years of service with the rank of brigadier general, the highest-ranking Hollywood actor to serve in uniform.
I saw James Stewart in an interview saying that if he managed to create just one moment in a film that resonated with the viewer, then he'd done a good job. One of my all time favourites.
Well i favourite Jimmy Stewart movie is It’s a wonderful life and The Glen Miller Story and I just loved him and everything that he was in Rest In Peace thanks for sharing your talents and your movies Mr. James Stewart ❤🤗💋🌹🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
He was a very good actor. I liked ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE, of course but also loved HARVEY. He is definitely my favorite actor, I love all the old classic movies with positive messages.
* Never a "pretty boy" leading man but a wonderful guy next door kind of character actor. Great at both drama and comedy. War hero and devoted family man. 🙂
This production is a testament to your artistic brilliance, effortlessly connecting the glamour of 1960s Hollywood with the genuine and heartfelt stories of these actors. *DO YOU AGREE WITH ME*
Such a good looking, genuine, true gentleman. I'm so glad he didnt follow the usual Hollywood road, of many shallow affairs. He and his wife were blessed with True Love.
Me and my family watch the amazing movie The wonderful life ,every Christmas season,, i’ve seen all of his films and he was one of the most brilliant actors in the world.🇬🇧
SO many great ones; Jimmy gave us such a treasure chest of his work. My dad's favorite was "Bell, Book, and Candle." I would have to say that my favorite, though one of his darker movies, is "Firecreek." I loved him in Westerns. "Shenandoah" is a close second.
OMG I loved this actor sooo much I couldn't stop thinking about him and always watched Its a wonderful life even when it wasn't christmas. I just prayed that maybe someday God will introduce me to him in Heaven if I make it there. Rest in peace our National Treasure you and your wife.
Loved most of his roles. Harvey was great. He did a radio show in the 50's called Six shooter, and also did radio versions of a few of his movies, all great!
• No Highway in the Sky • Of Human Hearts - having Beulah Bondi as his mother first time out of four, used to call her « Ma » 😁 • Harvey • You Can’t Take It with You • Mr. Smith Goes to Washington • The Mortal Storm • The Philadelphia Story • It’s a Wonderful Life • The Shop around the Corner … I have around 50 dvd : hard choice ! Greetings from France 🇫🇷
I went to church with him from 1979-82. His wife didn't come. I got to perform with him at two years Christmas charity performances at the church...he read Lessons and the choir sang beautiful Christmas songs. He was not a showman at church. Very quiet. Ironically the pastor at that time ended up being the pastor at the wedding at the end of the movie Birdcage! My time in W Hollywood was surprisingly rich with remarkable occurrences.
James Stuart was, in my opinion, outclassed all other male actors of his ilk.A genuine man, husband, father and grandfather. There will never be anyone to surpass him as an actor.
I'm beginning to watch his movies now. IAWL is a classic, but so is Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and the murder mystery one, too. A channel I found just posted, Pot of Gold, which seems very good, homespun feel good type movie. So for now, it's hard to pick a favorite but clearly he was a wonderfully talented actor and wonderful human being.

"The Glen Miller Story" is my favourite. Not only was he a pilot, but he played the accordion. What a versatile fellow!

He was my favorite! My favorite movie is Harvey💕
,When Capra was once asked, "What makes Jimmy Stewart a great actor", he replied, " He never makes acting look easy".
Jimmy was an amazing actor, so believable. Loved him when he did westerns, perfect cowboy. Brave and kind.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” is my favorite along w “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”. ❤❤❤
Broken Arrow western was my favorite🤠🐎🐴
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Which role comes in at second place?
Jimmy Stewart was my father's favorite actor. Shenandoah was my favorite Jimmy Stewart movie.
🇬🇧❤️A great actor and man, loved by many ❤️🇬🇧
James Stuart was, in my opinion, outclassed all other male actors of his ilk.A genuine man, husband, father and grandfather. There will never be anyone to surpass him as an actor.
Beautiful words, thank you for your message for James. Which of his roles appealed to you the most?
I'm beginning to watch his movies now. IAWL is a classic, but so is Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and the murder mystery one, too. A channel I found just posted, Pot of Gold, which seems very good, homespun feel good type movie. So for now, it's hard to pick a favorite but clearly he was a wonderfully talented actor and wonderful human being.
Glad to know that you had a chance to visit Jimmy. Thank you so much for sharing! What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
