i just made this and am impressed with it's elegant simplicity. i used a 9 inch spring form cake pan which lended a thinner cake, which suits me fine. it's not a sweet cake but i do like the crumb on it a lot. thank you for sharing such a beautiful cake recipe!
I can't find cake flour in any stores😢 There's probably in restaurant food stores. But where I live you need a license to get in. Can someone tell me how to make cake flour or should I just opt on ordering online.
So I had a go at this, and tbh, I found it a little underwhelming. So I made a hazelnut crème patisserie with the egg yolks and sandwiched it in the cake. Interesting history behind it too.
i liked the simplicity of it, with just a little icing sugar on top.. but your hazelnut creme sounds divine! i think i would try a raspberry coulis with it next time - just for something different

早速作ってみました。予想を裏切らないナッツのシンプルなケーキで、先ほど温かいうちに食べてみたらしっとり美味しかったです。生地が(直径15cm型だと)少し余ったのでマフィン型で焼いたものが食べるのもお手軽だったので、今後はこっちでゆこうかなww いつも美味しいレシピをありがとうございます!

pain though! Would work with walnuts and pecans easily.
some companies package shelled hazelnuts, which i use, and then just roast them. i can imagine it would be a pain if you had to crack them all!

that would make it too heavy. any baked good with egg whites will make it fluffy!
