I'm not having a go at Jay, dude would like some money for his work. Comments increase a video's ranking and that's what I had to say about this video.
If I was to be bitching at anyone it would be Google (again) for running such long ads on short videos. A 5 minute ad should cost more than a 20 second ad.
And why would an advertiser pay the same whether someone skipped an ad or not.

True, prices fluctuate. Remeber though that a 295x2 is dual gpu so may require a PSU upgrade for some users.

Yeah man. R9 295x2 was around $650 before Black Friday. The 980, especially these "top tier shelf" ones are just not worth it. I got a cheap 780 Ti and will hold out till the next gen; the 10-hundred series. :-P But getting 2 970's to blow this thing out of the water or getting a 290X to hold you over... much better options!

Im not so sure the G1 is faster than the Classified. I tried to get a sample, but they are out of review samples.
From what I know it eats for breakfast MSI and STRIX.

Actually the Inno3D GeForce GTX 980 iChill Herculez X4 Air Boss Ultra may be the fastest GPU, it also beats the Strix and MSI, I haven't seen what it can do against a G1, however given that it has the coolest known heatsink thus giving it more headroom for overclocking I think its safe to say the G1 could be outmatched, I wish I could confirm it but Inno3d isn't as well known as Gigabyte so its kind of difficult to find relevant benchmark tests for it, maybe Jay could pick one up if he gets the chance? I think it would make for an interesting episode :P
Yeah quite the tongue twister, I still keep forgetting the full name thats why I copy it over ever time I want to mention it lol, despite the ridiculous name though it is a very beasty none reference model, due to its extreme cooling.
you said in the video that you changed the gpu and the ram MHz how did you manage to do that? and is there anywhere i could find whats the best voltage distribution for my rig?
Thank you Jay, thank you. That new lens is just purely amazing, not that the last one was BAD but this one just make your videos look 10x better! Not only does it make it more luxurious to watch, but it makes your channel look more professional and makes it look like there is some real quality content! (Not there wasn't quality before, it just wasn't nearly as great)
Going to wait for the 980 Ti.. because you know they're waiting on the 390X before they release their one-upper.
Or maybe I'll just get another 780 Ti and SLI them. I hate being a PC gamer and having so many choices. The struggle is real.
The 980Ti isn't even rumored yet. Just people saying it'll come out. The 980 is already basically the 980Ti and the Ti won't be worth it if it does come out. And you do realize there I never a good time to wait for a new component because if you wait for the 390X, whoah, the next big gpu will be out within a year. That is How computer components work. Just buy the 980 now at a good price, it will be fine for whatever you want.

The 980 is a marginal (and I do mean marginal) upgrade over my 780 Ti. Sometimes I see them going neck-in-neck with each other, sometimes the 780 Ti wins (though not in higher resolutions). Also, I would not put it past Nvidia to be holding back some of their goods, the way they did with the Kepler series. This happened with the 6xx series and with the 7xx series.
Redrum just sli them if your worried and if you really wanna then get the 390x when it comes out, OR even what might be cool would be if you sli 970s becuase they are cooler and you get the extra stuff they added.
Yep, they are defintley holding off with the 960 and 980Ti or maybe even a 990! to answer whatever AMD has planeed.

Wow, I didn't even notice that... If they come out with a 8gb version within 3 months of you buying the card you can trade it in to EVGA and pay the price difference...

One more problem ***** that I've noticed with the card is that at more than 50% fan speed it get a bit noisy but those fans are VERY effective.
It was pretty quiet at 48% even in my open test bench, but yeah, it CAN get loud.

I know a lot of people tend to care about the noise lvl of fans on GPUs but for those true hardcore PC enthusiasts will not care about fan noise because they will be slapping a water block on that bad boy and boom no fan noise at all coming from the GPU.

How big are your fans? Anything under 180mm at a certain RPM...

When it comes to clocks speeds and memory speeds. Actually no. Yes the strix looks nice. But when it comes to raw performance the g1 offen beats the strix

on your cryovenom 290 video you said there was coil whine did but you notice any on this one? gtx 900 cards generally coil whine a lot and i'm curious if the very custom pcb helps

just bought one for 420eu. I want to install the morpheus but i dont know what to do with the black plate, that covers the pCB. Yes, its cooling the memory. Should i keep it or replace it with the small aluminum and copper heatsinks i have?

In classic EVGA fashion, the backplate is extra. There should be a Kingpin edition right around the corner too. He smashed the Firestrike Extreme world record with 4 of these monsters, but not as much as I originally would have thought. 2000 points in FS Extreme is still a good old difference, plus he got almost 2ghz on all 4 gpu cores on LN2. Must... resist.... urge to upgrade.
but is the kingpin or even classified worth the extra £150? you can overclock the cards no problem to what the classified can do.
Whether the Classified is worth the money is entirely up to the individual. For most people, it wouldn't but for someone like me, hell yeah. I have no issues whatsoever spending the extra money just to get the best or something special. I know 14 power phases is entirely overkill for the GK-204, however with a waterblock and overclocked 24/7, those phases should last longer because the load on each is going to be a lot smaller compared to a reference card. This card and everything about it is right up my alley.
Robert Williams i agree for reflashing the bios and adjusting to higher overclocks over only available software it is worth it. with a water loop aswell. But for an everyday user using normal overclocking softwares its not really worth the extra cost over another aftermarket 980. I have 2x MSI gtx 980's and they run extremely well and overclock over 1500mhz on air. I wouldnt mind flashing them but would like to keep the warranty.
TB Craft That's where the extra BIOS come in handy. Even if you brick one BIOS, there are others. EVGA is also flexible with their warranties. If you got the Classified and didn't flash it, you're completely missing on the point. I have 2x 780 FTW, just got them on water a few months ago and I sill haven't gotten around to flashing them.

So im currently having issues with this graphics card. I was assuming that I have a power supply issue but I'm using a 600w and it works fine most of the time. All of a sudden in games like League of Legends or Black Ops 4 it ends up giving me a grey screen, loses sound and sends me to the desktop screen when it comes back to normal. I dont have anything overclocked and I switched from a Gigabyte 1050 ti because this would be a good switch from a GPU that started dying on me. If anyone knows anything I can do to fix it would be helpful.

just ordered the EVGA SuperNova 650 Watts G2 Gold 80 Plus to my new ASUS STRIX GEFORCE GTX 970 4 GB GDDR5 with Direct CU 2 and i noticed there is no connection to feed the ATX CPU connection in the Mainboard from the P7 cable with 2 black wires and 2 white wires that comes from the Original Power Supply from my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210f Desktop how can i adapt or solve this?

Back plates limit airflow when you stack cards next to each other - so that might be why they don't have one vs cost.

Hi, I'm trying to overclock my Intel Core i5 4690k. I can change the core multipliers but where do I change it so the CPU gets more voltage? I'm using Intel's extreme overclocking tool. So far, I managed to get it to 4.2 GHz without changing voltage. How do I get more voltage for the CPU? Thanks.

How do you tell if a card is reference design? I know what it is and everything, but how do you know before buying a card. And at point is a custom loop really worth the cost?
reference cards usually come with reference coolers, also a direct comparison with a reference cards pcb and that of a custom one will show a different layout (and more stuff sometimes). reviewers usually mention which cards use custom or reference pcb designs in their review.
Just to add a bit more info, you can always ask the manufacturer of the card just to make sure. Sometimes they change the quality of the capacitors or VRam but the locations on the board are in the same place as the reference cards

They are metal, so not easily colored or removed. Removing them would bend them, and ruin them. I would rather use Carbon fiber tape or something to cover the, up.
