- An award winning Black bank manager who was wrongly accused of a string of serious crimes says promises by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner to end discrimination in the force, are meaningless. Dale Semper complained to the Met almost immediately, after he was first arrested in August 2017. The Met have only now responded to the complaint five and a half years later - rejecting his claim that he would never have been arrested were it not for the colour of his skin.
This is Dale Semper's story.

Here’s the thing about Piers Morgan: I used to think he was one of these right-wing, sexist intolerant bigots (based mainly on the mainstream media reactions), but having regularly watched his programme on Talk TV, it turns out he’s simply a free-speech liberal and I find myself in tune with the bulk of his ideas.

Targeted due to jealousy by someone at his job who has friends in the police... Needs a proper independent investigation. People seem to be taking this lightly, but this was gestapo tactics. There was no legality in the police actions and as an innocent person, that would be terrorism.
The Met is often used by people who have bought many officers to do their dirty work.

I can’t imagine the embarrassment and humiliation this man and family went through at work and with the neighbours over this unwarranted police attention. They need to get their cheque book out asap and write a hefty cheque also some heads need to roll. There needs to be more structural accountability and improvements if you want the public’s support and trust.

3 years ago my cousin snitched on me, and made my life chaos, 3 years they have not found evidence of what he said to the police. Now the police do not reply to my email calls nothing.
I lost my university I have ptsd no sleep at all.
Yesterday they called me said your case is dropped and sent email confirmation.
Then I called back to check again, they said no your case still ongoing.
They are playing with my head.

The MET needs huge ranging reform for sure and apologies could be much more forthcoming, but it doesn't own wealth - fining it and or any other policing body in the UK would literally just be fining the British public.
Happened to a friend of mine. Pulled for driving offence, they put him in lock up for 48 hours. Searched his house. Frightened his kids. They found 400 quid, he's a tattooist, it's a cash business most of the time. That was last year. He still hasn't been discharged, still hasn't been charged and no money returned. His surname is Malone. I think what we have here is racism, classism and every damn ism you can think of. It's the police with their us and them mentality but they have all the power. The Met is rotten! I've never been in trouble in my life, but I keep my distance from met police.

The police will always treat black people differently because on average they commit more crimes. I'm not saying any single black person did commit a crime but the police finds it a reason to become agitated and harass black people as a frustrated attempt to protect the community.

My advise to Dale and his partner is go to James O'Brien and let him speak to the Mayor. You will surely get a response from the useless Head Of Met. When dealing with institutions like the police and a case like this, filing a complaint is just following the process to get to your next course of action which is taking them to court. Get your lawyers set on these guys and go for maximum damage claim.

He was arrested for firearms but police didn’t find any, then it changed to money laundering after finding not even £2k in his safe at home, which he was able to account for. So what are you accusing him of and what is your evidence?

I just don't understand why they can not admit they were wrong! The relationship between the police and the public is built on distrust. If they own up to their mistake then maybe the public won't be as hostile when dealing with the police, leading to better interactions and actually a solution to the situation. Instead the Mets' lies are damaging to society especially to black people and people living in poverty.
They won't admit to racial profiling because it isn't a case of racial profiling. The police has both an obligation and a right to investigate people they suspect of being involved in crime. We don't know the reasons why the investigation was launched.

Whatever their motivate was, it is clear that they hurt this family and so a proper investigation and apology from the Met shouldn't have to be this jarring. It shows they were wrong

It's unlikely this man would get any justice. MET Police are known to contain racist far right scum in thier ranks. The whole system is corrupt and racist. MET Police needs to be disbanded and new and better force needs to be trained.

The Case produced no evidence to support the alleged criminal behaviour, case drop totally. The life that he built for himself honestly and fairly was taken away and not restored. So sad...
Five and a half years???
I keep seeing met police 👮♂️ in bad state on UK news. I believe race played factor in this situation.
This is one of the many reasons why the Met needs to be completely disbanded and rebuilt from the ground.
I have also had an accusation of owning firearms made about me, based on a Facebook comment I wrote about American gun laws. I've never even held a gun. I know nothing about cleaning or maintaining or using them. Added to which I'm disabled by severe arthritis. I've taken TWO court cases relating to this situation, in the civil courts and won, but the police harassment just continues, they lied that they lost my entire records! I really don't know what to do about it, The Met seem unstoppable when they get the bit between their teeth about someone. From the records I've had, they seem convinced that I am not really ill. Its so frustrating. They make accusations about my mental health too, which is very frustrating given that everything I have said was happening HAS actually happened and eventually gets proven. They have destroyed my reputation, and all for revenge over putting a social worker's name online.
It's the logic of calculation. 72K How to buy 14 properties. If the police thought he got 14 properties, they can check in Land registry.
They could also have easily checked on his birth certificate, passport, citizenship and employment status. They didn’t want to check because it would have meant they would have had to stop harassing him for no damn reason.

This is five years and knowing the Police it will continue. 1368 complaints of racism. £1 million in compensation is not adequate damage for what his Mother, his partner and what Dale went through. His lawyer needs to re look at the quantum and increase it equal to the correct Heads of Claim. Praying for Dale and his family. The lady being wrongly arrested has nothing to do with TFL ticket staff. This entire thing and what happened with Chris Kaba and others is too much. Praying for justice for all. The Police have to stop investigating themselves.
