Props to you for going through all that hell. I can't help but think it would have been just as much work to drop the whole front sub assembly. I love these cars but hate having to do jobs like this. Doubly so when I have to be able to drive it to work Monday morning. :)
Sorry if this has already been asked. How must more vibration did you notices with the poly mounts? I'm going to replace mine with either stock rubber ones or the poly ones. And F$%@ going solid motor mounts!!!!!! Call me a pu#%y, I just don't want to have my teeth rattle around.
@@v8only Thanks. Mine's a cammed v8 trans am with a stiff suspension. lol The exhaust is also a step louder than stock. If I were to guess, I won't notice a difference. Vibration at idle should be non existent or not bad at the very least.
So my bolts are in backwards. Trying to replace motor mounts with solids, when taking the 18mm bolts out the driver side was easy but passenger side runs into the dipstick. I found your video and realized the previous owner installed the bolts backwards at some time during this cars life
You are a beauty for filming this process and explaining exactly everything you gotta do. i Would know how much of a pain it is because im currently trying to pull my ls1 and t56 out the top of my f-body z28 on stands AND filming my process in my garage... not fun lol
I did it a couple hours a day. you could get it done in a weekend for your first time. the hardest part was the learning curve. once you get the first side done, the next is easier
You're a gentleman and a scholar! These videos have helped immensely with my cam swap install/oil pump install/header install/motor mount/pulley/ls6 steam tubes/ls6 vc/catch can/knock sensors/!hvac/!cruise/trunion upgrade project lol
Great video. Thanks for posting. I've been told that i need my steering wrack removed. Thanks to this, i had evidence that you don't However,I do have LT headers tho. You think I need to take those off?
i have a question i was maybe gonna do mine and i was wondering if you can do this with the transmission still in the car and did you take off the exhaust headers

Great video!
15 millimeter not 15 inch. Kudos for doing it in stock form though. I did mine when I did H/C/I swap
very nice!!!! thanks so much

It was a loud v8 camaro that was already lowered with suspension. I didn’t notice any difference

looks like if im planning on installing headers that would be a good time to do it
Thank you for this video

i have to do this job to my LT1 camaro this winter does not look like fun. is the LT1 similar to the LS1 in respect to the engine mounts?
Great video. Thanks for posting. I've been told that i need my steering wrack removed. Thanks to this, i had evidence that you don't However,I do have LT headers tho. You think I need to take those off?
Thanks, this video helped sooooo much! Almost done, just can't get driver side pedestal back in for some reason???
I've read that you can leave the long tubes on. not 100% on that
i have a question i was maybe gonna do mine and i was wondering if you can do this with the transmission still in the car and did you take off the exhaust headers
You did this with the exhaust still on ? how long did it take you. everybody always says it's hell
Thanks for the upload, this helped me out alot.
yes, engine and trans stay in car
How many hours to change both engine mounts?
ha! it was a chore
Do you remember the actual size of the pedestal bolts
15mm
Is this the same for a 94 LT1?
Shon Wheeler sorry unsure. Different engine. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit different
Is the lt1 much different process?
Elias Sturla sorry not sure
I'm already done with the right side next is the driver side one but it wasn't that difficult I didn't even need to take the AC compressor out
Fuck that!!!!! I'm gonna pay someone to do mine lol
enjoy the vibrations
jon sixxx from what? This was a long time ago. Ran great after this. Smooth
Most poly mounts cause vibrations ur a lucky one
jon sixxx i put them in my foxbodys all the time. Solid mounts will vibrate but not poly in my experience
