To start of with I thought to myself 'naaa, not a chance'. But I watched the video and you made some really good points.
I think if I needed a portable set up, you would have just convinced me. Unfortunately I've already got 2x100ah batteries, solar panels, inverter, mppt charger and cables etc. I'm glad I did, because this video could have thrown a spanner into the works 😅

As with most power station reviewers you omit the parts they are inadequate at.
It's no good saving £400 on a proper power system if you freeze cos your power station can't run a diesel heater or you need to turn the fridge off every time you want to run the water pump 🤔
They have their place I totally agree, but as an alternative to a proper power system, no.
If you remove the 240v charger and accept you can charge with a BtoB whilst on route to the campsite they price is much closer .

That’s a fair point if that’s what you plan to use it for, you could use a 240v 12v supply like this, amzn.to/3RcZfTP but it’s not the most efficient to get to 12v
I deliberately didn’t mention it as they are not yet enabled on this model but Allpowers are planning to in a later firmware, it has expansion connectors that likely give a connection direct to the 48v battery so a suitable regulator could possibly be used to drop this to a higher current 12v output, hopefully.

Not a fan of the 240v AC to DC power supply, appart from as you rightly state it's inefficient, it it also makes a mockery of the simplicity mantra power Station manufacturers push so hard.
A 30A+ port would be way more practical. It's a weak point on ni on every power station has and yet disappointingly 99% of reviews avoid mentioning .
I work on boats more nowdays than motorhomes and I have recommended power stations to a few customers but IMHO the needs are rather specific IE one couple owned a small cruiser and a small camper, both of which were used for a few days at a time in the warmer months and a power station was a no brainer solution where 1 item is used for both.

it would be good to see you cover how to earth/ground these powerbanks, the vertualy all in the warning section mention that they "must be" earthed/grounded but thats about it, i have 2 1 ecoflow and my new one anker 767, both mention this and the later even claims to have the grounding wire etc with it, but the contence shows only the recharging cables, so until they reply to me i am assuming that when your using the items they "must be" pluged in to either your 12v or 240v supply that should be earthed/grounded🤷‍♂️and if thats the case how do you ground them when away from such sources?
remembering that if a fault developed and you are likely in breach of warranty, in addition have you noticed haw few contain health warnings say for example for ppl who may have a pacemaker

That's a really good point, I've not really considered the earthing situation. I'll do a bit of research and see what I can dig up.
I have a vague recollection of floating earths due to the vehicle body being isolated from ground, but let me see what I can dig up and have a chat with some electricians.
I don't think earthing will impact the warranty - it is more of a safety requirement/protection than impacting the way the unit actually works.

@@ExploreVanUK yet misuse of the equipment would class as a breach of warranty would it not?, after a firms could claim that a fault ia result of " failure to follow 'x,y or z', lol eg my memory foam mattress started to fall apart within a year, it was i sured, i followed all the directions i was given by both the seller and ins company, which involved taki g the mattress out of its cover to take photos of the fualt, then when the inspector came atrer telling me 3 times 'youll get a new one', before he left asked" who told you to take it out of its cover, wouldnt accept the proofs i gave him a week later i was i formed i had caused the damage and shouldnt of taken it out of its cover🤦‍♂️😠... that fight still ongoing a year on.... so do you really think companies wouldn't take the same ' look for a escape clause' whenthe items cost so much to buy/replace etc? More likely they turn round and say "the powerbank fault was caused through no grounding or insufficient earthing/ grounding, so not covered under the warrenty", i feel

I have just check the Manual for the AllPowers R1500 and there is no mention of a requirement for it to be earthed / grounded.
I’m not qualified to say either way but everything I have read so far suggests it is safer for generators and similar power stations not to be earthed when used in a van.
