Thanks Dave.. RUclips is just flooded with these fancy Battery Box's AHAHAH There is a channel dedicated to just reviewing these things. Hobotech.. He does not do Tear downs like some of the other channels do. I like My Home brew one, I'll keep using that for My 7 & 9 Day camp outs. Mike M.
I received the "Allpowers R1500" station with an initial charge of 66%. After reaching 100% charge, the fan stopped at the end of the charge cycle. However, the next day, despite being fully charged at 100%, the fan continues to run constantly. Whether the AC or DC outputs are on or off, it doesn't make a difference; the fan keeps running even with the battery fully charged. Is this normal in your experience? Additionally, the app indicates there is an update available but requires a code. I've tried reaching out to Allpowers but haven't received a response. Thanks for your feedback. Best regards,
Yeah but not easily being able to open it up means you can't change the battery when needed. And it will be needed, these things don't last that long, esp. if its used like a UPS.
@@12voltvids I assume it depends on how the unit functions, with respect to constantly charging? All the UPS units I've used, the batteries only last about 1 - 2 years in constant service.
Big difference between lithium and lead acid UPS. With that acid the battery is always on trickle charge which kills it after a couple years. The lithium units use a battery management system which shuts off charging and keeps them off until they need to be charged. So the batteries are not always constantly under a charge condition.
Hi Dave I Think if I'm Not Mistaken the 220 / 240 Volt Label is Made for the British 🇬🇧..Version.& No wonder my Electric Bills are so high I'm using twice as much as the Rest of the world 🇬🇧...
So I have an R1500 and keep getting "inverter bypass overload" error. And this is when it's just sitting idle and not powering anything. Any idea what this means or whats causing it?
Hi everyone, just to let you all know that the r1500 model doesn’t have expandable batteries available. ALLPOWERS are telling me that they don’t make expandable batteries for this model yet. So that means the two ports for the expandable batteries on the side is useless. To me, that’s false advertising and they should state that fact before people buy this model. The next model that has this feature, is the r3500 which costs a fair bit more. So be aware before buying this product.
@@12voltvids Hi thanks for your reply. Yeah I know and that’s what ALLPOWERS told me, but they at least should mention that fact in the ad so people can be informed of that fact before they purchase it. ALLPOWERS said there MIGHT be a battery available in the future, but that doesn’t help at the moment. Thanks.
my question is: what will it be in 5 years from now? and the same question to all the brands out there. they clain 10 years of exceellent useage before dropping to 80% recharge states???
People said that about my electric car. Said the batteries would be toast in 5 years. Well 13 years later the batteries are fine and even the old 12 volt battery is good. If you look after it and don't leave it set until the battery is completely discharged you should be fine. Many times people buy these things for camping so they don't use them and charge them and discharge them every day. if you throw them on charge every 3 months to top them up when they're being stored they could last you years. Others that use them every day to charge them with solar and use them off grid may find that the batteries will start to wear out after several years.. they say 5,000 charge discharge cycles. Well if you charge it once and discharge it once every day that should equate to about 13 and 1/2 years. The battery in my car is the same and that car is now 13 years old. Has the EV range dropped? Yes it is a little less than when new but it's a plug in hybrid it just changes to gas at 30 miles when used to go 35.
for long use better avoid as much the fast mode charging. BUt that is evry one's choice. I know i will not use it by draining it to ZERO before i charge it. better safe than sorry.I want to max my investment in one of these.
Had mine for a year..599 with a 100 wat panel..great deal..helped us out on a couple power outages
Can you use this portable generator without using the app on the phone?
Thanks Dave..

This is one of those hybrid labels. Charge at 120 run at 240.

This is a new model so perhaps they don't have the expansion available yet?

What happens if there is a fault, do you need an earth rod?
No you don't. It's isolated from ground.
Is this app working? Hello
where does the fault current go if not plugged in? @@12voltvids
