  • On today's episode, Dr. Jaime interviews New York Times Best-Selling Author and Investigative Science Journalist, Nina Teicholz.
    Nina Teicholz is an investigative science journalist and leader in nutrition reporting who is challenging the conventional wisdom on dietary fat-particularly, whether saturated fat causes heart disease and whether fat really makes you fat. The New York Times bestselling author of The Big Fat Surprise. Teicholz also serves as Executive Director of The Nutrition Coalition, an independent non-profit group that promotes evidence-based nutrition policy. She is one of a new generation of researchers arguing that diets lower in carbohydrates are a scientifically sound approach for reversing nutrition-related diseases.

    Very interesting discussion, as always with Nina. Regarding independent researchers, don’t forget Chris Knobbe. He has done massive research for many years, regarding seed oils. There’s strong correlations between western diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer etc and omega 6/linoleic acid which is in the seed oils. May I suggest you ask him for an interview/presentation of his research.

    I was vegetarian for 10+ years with worsening health issues. 3 years ago i switched to a ketogenic animal based foods diet and am now feeling fantastic, i have my strength and muscle back and health issues gone ! I will stay animal based ketogenic, as its the proper human diet!

    One has to ask just how bad does the obesity epidemic have to worsen until broadcasts such as this start getting more views. Why are there only 5K views after 6 months!?

      maybe because people see a channel called 'Dr. Fit and Fabulous" and they assume it's just a narcissistic wannabe influencer rather than a serious health communicator.

    Hello is a question for Nina and Jaime--Is it possible that heart disease, diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases are caused by a nutritional deficit of dietary fat? Perhaps these cardiovascular diseases are caused by a lack of this ingredient like scurvy is caused by a lack of Vitamin C.

    • @denniskozlowski8699
      @denniskozlowski8699 10 месяцев назад +3

      The Napoleonic army would kill a horse for the soldiers to eat when they had a breakout of scurvy. The British just found it more economical to give sailors lemons.

    Institutions will be a hard sell when it comes to meat. They are looking for cheap, easy to store and prepare foods. And they will support those who want to get rid of meat like the food industry is trying to do along with Bill Gates.

    During the periodes of life where you are ment to grow (childhood, pregnancy) the insuline is necessairaly high. Natural.
    The rest of our life extra growth is not natural, so insuline should be low.

    POTASSIUM GLUCONATE 4500 mg. A day person os MORE IMPORTANT THAN SODIUM SALT. CRAVINGS for excessive amounts of SALTS , SALTY FOODS. IS A DEFICIENCY ALARM. 😮 YOUR BODY IS
    LOW Level of a mineral IODINE MINERAL. JUST A drop can help. 5 drops of food grade iodine raises the

    A non-vegans "personal choice" to not be vegan isn't a choice because there are victims involved. Animal agriculture uses more land, depletes more resources, and contributes greatly to climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and land degradation yet supplies fewer calories for the global population, and these effects are felt the most in the underdeveloped countries. If you aren't vegan, you are paying for an industry that oppresses poor people, but worst of all are the direct victims involved: the billions to trillions of animals whose fates are determined by "personal choices." The latter is, above all else, the reason why people go vegan.
    It's not a "personal choice," it's not a morality flex, it's not something you do for "health reasons," even the perks involved which there may be (no dietary cholesterol/lower saturated fat and trans fat/better resource management/environmentally-friendly); it's a pledge of compassion for victims. You can't claim to be a compassionate person if you aren't vegan, you can't claim to care about the environment and food supply if you aren't vegan, and you can't claim to care about animals or be in favor of animals having basic rights to life, protected under law, if you aren't vegan.
    This is a very poor message about health. You are what you eat and when you consume dead animals and road kill it leads to premature death. FYI- Nina is all about profits like the industry. What a SAD story just like the SAD die. Eat Twinkies and smoke a pack a day it is healthier than this ignorance. LIES! ALL LIES!
