Another great video Sam, always enjoy your painting. NZ is a beautiful location for plein air. I'd love to see you plein air some structures in your landscapes like cottages or farm houses etc. I think you'd be the best to teach how to do this.
Thank you so much Sam another great video I felt you were really speaking to me with your mixture of the greens, I’ve really struggled mixing Disney like oversaturated green, no more I say 😊
I am sure its a great video but I just cant bring myself to watch NZ plein air painting. It's just such a gorgeous country and I am stuck densely populated, agricultural central Germany where you may not even walk through a forest without permit. Had I not a family, I'd be going elsewhere in the blink of an eye.
Southwest german here - I can totally relate. Cow pastures, boring corn fields up to the horizon, pine monoculture mimicking as 'forest', and settlements on nearly every centimetre. Have to drive far and I am confined to working from quick foto shots in solitude. No one to share my hobby with. But do not dismiss boring landscapes. Look for the lanscape paintings of Andrew Orr, he makes a dish out of everything!
I totally understand this. However sometimes even the most uninteresting landscapes can make great paintings. You should check out the artworks of Joe Paquet, he is on Instagram. He paints things that no one would consider painting. In his words he finds the Grand Canyon in his backyard.
👋Good morning from Germany, Sam. Wonderful ! Two great artists painting together one of the lovely landscapes of NZ - you guys are awesome, as are your artworks. Thank you very much, happy painting😊, have a pleasant weekend❤
@@SamuelEarpArtistOh I have no doubt. It was just a contrast because you are so mellow in your videos, making it look easy, but I know the struggle, you are both very skilled artists. Looking forward to more videos, they are always a source of inspiration. 🧑🎨

You're welcome, Sam@@SamuelEarpArtist
Beautiful landscape, wonderful paintings and very experienced painters ! Thank you so much for your valuable advices. 🎨 I love you both ❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
I reckon thats one of your best plein air paintings Samuel, great scene!. Any chance you could post where that spot is?
Thanks so much. I don’t know the name of the exact location but it is very near Levin.
I'm surprised to see Andrew fighting it so much. Staying on top of his game must be hard work.
Andrew’s painting was pretty awesome when he finished it. It was a bit of a tricky landscape to paint 🎨😀

Absolutely spot on! What size is andrew's canas? Thanks, Carol
I think his canvas was an 8” x 10” as well, maybe a little bigger
