    I cried when I heard Isabelle play this in concert. She is so amazing, and such a sweet person. - - I have yet to hear a harpist play this song half as good as her. I love how she doesn't follow normal 'harp rules' - always see her in high heels - yet she outshines everyone. Also love her intensity, especially in this piece.

    Beautiful piece played by a really beautiful woman. I watched her give mini lessons once and she was such a kind encouraging teacher.

    Oh, this means so much to me as I am learning this on the harp. To see and hear the phrasing and fingering from a master, I am so very grateful!

    Literally every other pro I've ever seen avoids that 4-2/3-1 pattern in the right hand in the second bar, and I'm gratified to see you using it. I've been really buckling down on that pattern to work it in since it's a new technique thing for me, and everyone else uses workarounds, either harmonics or using two hands. I'll buckle down and keep working on it.

    Sometimes I get so depressed when I think of the horrors that man can inflict on others, such as 9-11. But when I see and hear this composition performed on such a magnificent instrument by a master in complete control of her craft, I am brought back to the reality that we are also capable of sublimely beautiful actions that go beyond words.

    Quality of video and sound(including noise) makes it an demanding video for ppl to be able to appreciate - only those who knew this piece and other performances of this piece so well are able to appreciate this, to realize her style and uniqueness. If you want a hi-fi music, leave now.

    Oh. Wow - much nicer on harp than the 88, Would love to hear that recorded with closer more personal micing. Very beautiful, and of course well played. Someone moaned about pacing of the piece. It was perfect. I know the music. Perfect. Gorgeous harp also.

    @supawatc i can see what you mean, but those arpeggios sounds so....watery, whether slow or fast...when water flows, you can't control it's speed. i think either a slower or quicker take on them sounds natural.

    Camac harps are so deficient in tone quality when the harpist tries to crescendo.

    I don't think so... It like if it was written like this... And even if she plays a note out of the tune, it's only one of pfffff hundreds of a difficult piece so I think we can forgive her :)

  • @supawatc
    @supawatc 14 лет назад

    you went a bit too fast with those arpeggios... It sounds a bit abrupt and doesn't fit into the general mood of the piece which is more contemplative, at least, in my interpretation. But apart from this, I love it anyway.

    personally. listening to it. im not sure if it was just the acoustics of the room or the sound on the camera but it felt as though the piece was rushed. it seemed like the proper seconds and milliseconds between notes that i find in most representations of this piece were not present. the sounds of certain notes weren't given time to dissipate properly. it may just be me but this fact made this hard for me to listen to. i know it seems like a very mild issue but it bothered me greatly.

      The Weekenders well yes, but that happens. even in formal settings, to almost everyone, every musician. and it is something ppl fear about.
      There is hi-fi version of this by the prof. at CIM. Its good too. But for this video, I think its not made to publish, etc. what matters is too appreciate her style of playing when you’ve heard so many other performances already.
      Just very personal comments.

  • @sunidak
    @sunidak 11 лет назад +1

    Huh? May be it's your ears that are out of tune?
