I put off watching this video, thinking it would just confuse me more. I finally gave in and was pleasantly surprised (actually more like shocked) to discover your breakdown made so much sense that I finally got it! The little colored number squares are so visual and helpful. Much thanks for taking the extra effort for creating this video.
This is a marvelous tutorial, Anne. This would be helpful for students at any level playing any transcription of this piece. I like your transcription because it feels very “complete” and true to the original. Thank you for all you do to enhance the harp world.
Such an excellent explanation Anne. I love your encouragement of getting a handle of the time signature through counting rather than metronome because it helps to incorporate one’s voice into this incredible piece. The feeling so important. Thank you!
Wow, never heard this on the lever harp. Thank you for this explanation. I'm currently working on the The Butterfly which is a 9/8 time signature and had no idea. I just imitated how Celtics harpers played it.
Thank you Anne. Great instructions. I am a medium beginner with a 36 string Paraguayan harp with no levers. I suppose this piece (my favourite) would not be possible without levers? Have you heard of finger levers? I saw a lady playing with one once.

Great to hear, I had a hunch that color-coding would help it seem less confusing!
Really great instruction here. I don't play the hard but this is very helpful. Thank you
Very clearly explained. Hopefully those who are new to the triple compound meter will feel inspired to give it a whirl. Great teacher 🌟🌟🌟
Thank you!
Thank you soooooo much! Very clear and easy to understand.
Fantastic! Glad it was helpful 🙂
Really helpful, just started harp 3 months ago. Have learned Greensleeves, which was 6/8. Whrn I’m ready, I’d like to try. The tutorial was great.

Very clear when you present it to us, Anne. Thank you for taking the time to explain time!
It's nice to jump in with a solid strategy in place 😀
Oh this is so helpful…I might try this later this year
I'm so glad!
Great lesson, Anne. You explain the rhythm and counting brilliantly. It’s very helpful. 😊🙏

Glad it made sense!

Thank you, yes the counting out loud is the secret sauce!
It’s very useful how you broke the timing down. As always great job Anne! Off to the shop
Glad it was helpful!

You can definitely count The Butterfly 1+a2+a3+a can't you?
@@annecrosbygaudetmusic sure can
Molto brava!

Same counting concepts apply to piano! Thanks for watching!
Wow a fantastic explanation. This is so helpful. BTW your Clair De Lune is such a gorgeous arrangement. I am not sure that I am ready for it yet.
Thank you so much! Yes, it's late intermediate, but I found ways to make it feel great in the hands.
Hello, so cool! I was wondering why is it easier to play it in Cmajor on the lever harp? thanks :D
Thank you Anne. Great instructions.
I am a medium beginner with a 36 string Paraguayan harp with no levers.

Have you heard of finger levers? I saw a lady playing with one once.
You'll need a fully levered harp for this arrangement and E flat major tuning.
@@annecrosbygaudetmusic Thank you Anne. You are inspiring me to begin practicing again - I have been very slack with it. xx
Thank you for this beautiful sound,
Question, is it possible to play this piece on a 26 strings harp?
This arrangement needs 34+ strings. I'm sure there are simplified small harp versions out there.
